Healing is like an onion. There are so many layers involved no matter how much work you've done already. I recently had to challenge myself and face some past memories and trauma's again as part of new level or breaking and healing that is happening.   Under all of those layers, God has a plan and a purpose for you. Sometimes things behind closed doors aren’t always as they seem. It is no secret that COVID-19 has taken over all of our lives in every capacity. You can no longer wake up without hearing about it, seeing something about it, or be affected by it with your family, job, school, business, shopping, etc.   However, the biggest thing I have noticed is as Christians, is that we are covered with a peace that surpasses all understanding.   With that being said, I do want to be fully up front with you and share, I did finally have a freak out moment while getting ready the other day. If I were to come up and ask you, who are you? Do you know how you would answer that?   What happens when your world gets shaken? What happens when the storms hit? Who are you anchored to? I feel like I always rag on him, and for awhile I was. I didn’t give him the honor he deserved. I didn’t talk enough about the amazing things, how great of a dad he was a lot of the time, how caring and charismatic he was. How much he loved people. Throughout life - heartbreak comes and it comes in many different forms.   Breakups Friendships dissolving Divorce Loss of a pet Loss of a loved one Miscarriage   I have been through many heartbreaks in many different forms. Most of them without knowing Jesus intimately like I do now. But there is a new turn on life and how I handle heartbreak. I have spent years either playing victim but also  processing the things that have happened in my life.  But one thing that many of fail to also focus on, is when the tables are turned and we are the ones doing the hurting. The ones who have spoken those negative words over someones life, or when we reacted or delivered a message that cut someone so deep, they are in the midst of their own healing from the trauma we played a part in.   Come with me as we take ownership of what we did when hurt, because I know, I am not alone. Who else loves them some good wine? Taking trips down memory lane isn’t always the easiest when the memories aren’t the fondest memories you have. But that doesn’t stop Nik today on Unashamed Faith. I grew up being my Dads best friend.  I mean, we did EVERYTHING together.  We were inseparable. And then, it all changed.  He could no longer hide the alcohol and depression which caused our relationship to take quite a turn.  As I share my relationship with my Dad, we touch briefly on some of the hardships that came along with being a child navigating through a parent who is under demonic oppression.  However, no matter how tough the road was/is, you can find the path to forgiveness and find freedom.  Forgiveness is a powerful tool. It is easy for us to believe in someone else miracles, dreams, hopes, healings, etc. Yet when you are in the thick of it, sometimes its hard to stand on the belief that God has a miracle and healing for you. There is a path and walk that we have all taken. Some of it has been with God, some not at all, some fully with him, but for me, its been a mix.  There was always a pull on my heart to go to church, but I never had a relationship with God.   I will share with you that journey of how my relationship with God came to be just that, a relationship.  Through the ups and downs of life, he has always been there whether I knew it or not.
