In this final episode of the "Let's Go to Boston" series, Nik shares story of the most chaotic final leg of his career, beginning with a frozen Minneapolis morning, deicing delays, equipment issues, and last-minute runway changes. He walks through how he managed rising workload, weather threats, and a challenging crosswind approach into Atlanta while keeping the operation safe and legal. Along the way, he breaks down the math and mindset behind approach speeds, wind additives, and disciplined cockpit decision-making. The episode closes with hard-won lessons about avoiding "get-home-itis" by treating the last day like day one, solving one problem at a time, and leading under pressure. Host Nik delivers a practical, self-reflective episode recorded from the gym. This episode challenges coaches to audit their own blind spots using a 10-question diagnostic, introduces the concept of coaching as a learnable skill requiring ongoing assessment, and previews a client re-engagement intervention method to be covered in depth in Episode 3.High performing coach Scorecard00:02Welcome & ContextNik introduces Episode 2, notes the gym setting, and flags this episode will be interactive — asking listeners to participate while they listen.00:40Self-Awareness as a CoachCore theme introduced: the importance of being self-aware as a coach. Nik teases a diagnostic tool linked in the description for a deeper blind spot assessment.01:30Coaching as a SkillCoaching reframed as an acquired skill, not an innate ability. Skill acquisition requires practice, feedback, and a continuous improvement loop.02:00Lack of Assessment in the IndustryChallenges coaches to ask: 'Have I ever genuinely been assessed as a coach?' Argues that Level 3 qualifications test instruction, not coaching.02:28Defining CoachingCoaching defined as creating an environment where clients can make conscious decisions on their actions, behaviours, and goals. Coaches facilitate; they don't dictate.03:30The Cost of No FeedbackOutlines the cascade effect of never being assessed: missed development → poorer client results → lower retention → less income and confidence.04:40The 10-Question Self-AssessmentNik introduces the scoring system (1 = Strongly Disagree, 5 = Strongly Agree, max score 50) and walks through all 10 questions.10:00Score InterpretationBreaks down what your score means: 40–50 rare depth, 30–39 strong but inconsistent, below 30 is a retention risk.10:40Free Diagnostic ToolNik directs listeners to a free full diagnostic (link in description) — generates an immediate report with blind spots and actionable development areas.12:00Early Signs of DisengagementBridges to the broader series theme: recognising when clients are starting to disengage, regress in adherence, or drift in the relationship.12:50Preview: Intervention MethodTeases an intervention method used within the Connected Coach programme. Full verbal case study will be covered in Episode 3 with a question bank.Questions for the self assessment StatementWhat It Reveals1I can clearly articulate why a client is training beyond aesthetics and gym-based goals.Tests your ability to uncover the emotional 'why' behind surface-level goals.2I regularly check that a client's goals haven't subtly changed.Goals shift over time. Coaches who don't realign lose relevance and trust.3I regularly gather critical, unbiased feedback from clients.Testimonials aren't feedback. Are you proactively seeking honest critique?4A client could articulate the journey phases and milestones for the next 12 months.Measures whether clients feel a sense of direction and co-ownership of the plan.5I help clients see progress beyond scale weight, photos, and surface-level goals.Resilience in adherence depends on recognising non-aesthetic progress.6My clients understand why we do what we do.Understanding builds autonomy and reduces dependency on you to stay motivated.7I coach habits and behaviours — not just sessions and tick-box to-do lists. The difference between a trainer and a coach lives here.8Clients can describe how they've changed as a person since starting.Identity-level change is the strongest predictor of long-term adherence.9I adjust my coaching style to the individual, not my preferences.Everyone says yes — but without personality or communication assessments, how do you actually know?10I'm confident I'm not projecting my training values onto clients.Your relationship with fitness is not your client's. Projection erodes trust.
Greg Laurie
In this episode, Nik sits down with Tommy Prestella—retired Air Force C-130 pilot, R4P producer, and Shark Tank contestant—to break down the military-to–Part 121 transition and the mindset required to succeed. Together, they discuss preparation timelines, logbook best practices, and transition strategies for successfully moving from the military to the civilian aviation world. The conversation also explores why pilots naturally gravitate toward entrepreneurship, with risk management and decisiveness already built into the profession. Tommy draws compelling parallels between walking into a Part 121 interview and pitching his company on ABC's Shark Tank. From structured preparation to performing under pressure, this episode delivers practical insight for pilots navigating career transitions both inside and outside the cockpit. In this second installment of the "Let's Go to Boston" solo series, Nik recounts how a simple Boston–Atlanta–Orlando day turns into a CRM decathlon as he and his First Officer battle a snowstorm, runway changes, reroutes, and critical fuel calculations. Nik pulls back the curtain on how captains think about fuel margins, FAR 117 duty limits, and why "slow is pro" when the workload spikes. Whether you're a current or aspiring airline pilot, this episode will sharpen how you think about risk and communication, and enhance your ability to make boring, safe decisions on chaotic days. Which Porsche Do You Actually Buy? — Part One The question sounds simple until you actually start answering it: if you're shopping PDK because this car is going to sit in traffic more days than it sees a mountain road, which Porsche makes the most sense? The lineup starts with the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and Cayman GTS 4.0 — both making 394 horsepower and 309 torque, with the Boxster ranging $75k to $90k and the Cayman $80k to $95k. Step down to the turbocharged variants and you're at 350 horsepower in the S and 365 in the GTS, torque actually matching the 4.0 at 309 and 317 respectively, with Boxster money starting in the $40k range and Cayman topping out around $75k. The 4.0 is the easy emotional answer. The turbo variants are the practical one. The hosts work through both. The 991 Enters the Conversation Just as the 718 debate starts to settle, the 991 world opens up and complicates everything. The 991.1 Carrera with the 3.4L naturally aspirated flat six makes 350 horsepower and 287 torque and can be found in the $50k to $70k range — the 991.1 Carrera S bumps that to 400 horsepower with a 3.8L and asks $60k to $85k. Then the 991.2 comes in with the 3.0L twin-turbo making 370 horsepower in the base car and 420 in the S, and suddenly you're looking at a very different ownership proposition from a very different price bracket. We're just getting into it — Part Two picks up right here. Outro That's the show. Thanks for listening. If you want more, join the Pcar Club at Patreon.com/pcartalk. Follow us on Instagram @pcartalk. The old DTC playbook is dying. And most brands don't even realize it yet.In this episode, Nik sits down to talk about how DTC has evolved, why lean and profitable is the new thing, and what the next five years of ecom will actually look like. Nik explains the shift toward what he calls performance branding, where brand and measurable performance work together instead of competing for budget. They break down the real growth ceilings brands hit at $5M, $20M, and beyond - and why performance marketing alone eventually stops working. They also cover tariffs, shipping arbitrage, hidden 3PL fees, inventory risk, app bloat, Shopify's evolution, and why context and operator skill will matter more than ever. If you're building a brand in 2026 and beyond, this episode is a blueprint for staying lean, fast, and culturally relevant in a world where everyone has access to the same tools. The future is not moving faster. It is getting noisier. In this episode, futurist and “hope engineer” Nik Badminton joins the podcast to challenge the way we think about disruption, AI and modern leadership. Having advised organisations from global brands to government bodies, Nik teaches leaders how to lift their heads from today's firefighting and start shaping what comes next. This is a conversation about designing the future instead of reacting to it. Nik explains why most so-called black swan events are actually things we saw coming, why innovation often moves at a glacial pace, and why organisations that build a clear vision of the future are far more likely to thrive.Nik also shares a personal turning point that changed the trajectory of his life and work, offering a reminder that leadership growth often starts beneath the surface. If you are serious about leading in uncertainty, cutting through distraction and preparing your organisation for the next decade, this episode will challenge how you think and sharpen how you act.The future will be shaped by those who choose to look ahead. The question is, are you one of them?Actionable Takeaway: Stop chasing speed and start filtering noise.Shape the future, or react to someone else's.Turn hope into clear goals and shared action.Don't confuse AI hype with real advantage.Use tech to simplify decisions, not complicate them.Spend less time firefighting and more time scanning the horizon.AI is a mirror. Your Childhood Wrote Your Leadership Code (Now Rewrite It) In this episode of Richer Soul, Rocky Lalvani sits down with psychologist and leadership expert Nik Kinley for a conversation that connects the dots between childhood programming, leadership behavior, money mindset, and performance under pressure. Nik shares research showing leaders spend about 72% of their day running on "automatic," which helps explain why even smart, trained executives can repeat the same patterns, especially when uncertainty is high and time is short. You'll hear why Nik believes we've shifted into an era of "structural uncertainty," how the "power trap" affects empathy and truth-telling, and a simple tool you can use immediately: communicating in probabilities (like "I'm 60% sure") to invite candor and surface risk earlier. If you care about leading with clarity, improving decision-making, and understanding the invisible forces shaping your relationship with money and authority, this episode delivers. Learning insights The "72% Autopilot" reality: Leaders report spending roughly 72% of their day operating automatically relying on instincts more than deliberate thought. Why learning doesn't translate into behavior: Under workplace speed/pressure, the thoughtful "HBR leader" image breaks down and defaults take over. Genetics plays a bigger role than people expect: Nik cites research suggesting aspects of self-regulation/emotional expressiveness can be 60–70% genetically inherited (on average). Your conflict style has a default setting: Many people lean toward one of three conflict stances, smooth it over, pull away/observe, or go in swinging, often shaped before school. Uncertainty changes brains and behavior: Nik argues uncertainty increases threat sensitivity and cognitive load, making instinctive reactions more likely. From volatility to "structural uncertainty": Post-COVID, Nik suggests uncertainty is more "baked in," compounding misalignment and creating strategic drift in organizations. The Power Trap effect: Leadership roles can create distance (less truth reaches you) and boost ego (more overconfidence risk). A practical tool for candor: Speaking in probabilities (e.g., "I'm 60% sure…") encourages others to voice uncertainty and risks earlier. Why this conversation matters Most leaders think they're making conscious choices, but Nik Kinley shares research suggesting leaders spend about 72% of their day running on automatic, especially when they're moving fast and don't have time to think. That "autopilot" is often built from childhood programming, family scripts, and even inherited temperament, which means your biggest leadership patterns can show up most strongly under pressure, exactly when it matters most. Nik also explains why leadership has become harder in a world of structural uncertainty, and how power itself can quietly reduce empathy and distort feedback, making it easier for leaders to drift into average without realizing it. Money learning Nik's money story is a clear example of how early experiences can hardwire financial behavior for decades. He describes growing up with "Victorian values" through his grandparents—saving, security, and risk aversion—and then moving into a phase of debt and struggle when he left home and self-funded university. That early mix created a relationship with money that wasn't just practical, but emotional: debt felt like shame, and security became a core driver. Over time, that programming showed up as a strong preference to protect the family's base first—avoiding big financial risks, and only becoming more open to investing once the mortgage was paid off and there was truly "extra" capital to work with. The conversation also highlights that attitudes toward investing are partly cultural: in some places trading is normalized, while in the UK investing can carry an undertone of "gambling," which reinforces caution even when the math might suggest otherwise. Key takeaways This episode makes the case that leadership isn't mainly about what you know, it's about what you default to, especially under pressure. Nik shares that leaders report spending about 72% of their day on "automatic," which explains why good intentions and training often don't translate into changed behavior at work. He warns that most leaders don't flame out—they slowly drift into average through small, repeated missteps that are hard to notice in the moment. In today's post-COVID environment, where uncertainty may be structural rather than occasional, those automatic patterns become even more dominant, so the job is not just agility, but maintaining strategic grip and resisting drift over time. Add to that the "power trap": authority naturally creates distance (people filter the truth) and boosts ego (overconfidence), making it harder to get clean information and stay empathetic. A practical antidote Nik offers is disarmingly simple: communicate in probabilities, be clear without pretending certainty, because calibrated uncertainty can invite others to speak up, share risks, and tell you what they're really seeing. Guest Bio Nik is a London-based psychologist, psychotherapist, leadership consultant and coach with over 35 years' experience, specialising in assessment and behaviour change. His career spans commercial roles, senior HR positions at BP and Barclays, consulting with YSC and Accenture, and a decade working as a forensic psychotherapist in prisons. He thus has the unique experience of having worked with royalty, criminals, CEOs, politicians and children. He has assessed over 1,500 senior leaders worldwide, coached CEOs and leadership teams across sectors, and led global culture-change programmes in some of the worlds largest companies. An author and media commentator, interviewed by the likes of the BBC and The Economist, he has for the last 12 years led a research programme that has resulted in nine books, the latest of which is The Power Trap (2025). Najvyššia slovenská futbalová liga dospela do konca základnej časti, keďže počas uplynulého víkendu sme boli svedkami 22. kola Niké ligy, čiže posledného pred tzv. „prelínačkou“ do nadstavbovej súťaže.

In this three-part solo series, Nik recounts a challenging trip to Boston Logan International after being away from one of the country's most complex and congested airports for over a year. From low ceilings and moderate turbulence to inoperative runway hold-short lights and a corn maze airfield diagram, Nik explains how deliberate preflight planning, detailed company page reviews, and proactive communication kept a chaotic situation under control. He shares 10 key lessons on leadership, Crew Resource Management, and why "slow is pro" when threats are stacked and the pressure is high. Premiering at SXSW in March 2025, The Age of Disclosure is a documentary that aims to inform its audience about the ongoing push for full government disclosure on the UFO phenomenon. Especially notable is the amount of professional involvement and testimony from over 30 individuals, ranging from physicists, politicians, academics, and armed service members who collectively make the case for the serious nature of the UFO phenomenon, and the struggle to break through 80+ years of government secrecy on the topic. On this episode Nik and Tom review and break down the documentary, and attempt to answer the question of A) Does the film help move the needle forward for the disclosure movement, and B) Is this documentary itself a form of disclosure. Some brands don't have a product problem, they have an execution problem. In this episode, Nik breaks down a pattern he's seen over and over again this year: brands with incredible products, real social proof, and even professional athlete endorsements…that are completely stuck. He walks through what's actually holding them back, from lazy packaging and unclear positioning to underbuilt websites, weak subscription strategy, and missed logistics opportunities. Nik also outlines a tactical checklist covering shipping and fulfillment, brand strategy, positioning, email and SMS flows, churn reduction, and LTV expansion. Tedd Huff, CEO of fintech advisory firm Voalyre and founder of Fintech Confidential, sits down with Nik Milanović, Founder and FinTech Enthusiast in Chief of This Week in FinTech, a global community of more than 200,000 members, and the founder of StableCon, the first conference built exclusively around stablecoins and payments. Nik also serves as a General Partner at The FinTech Fund, where he invests in the next generation of FinTech startups.Stablecoins have spent years being called either the future of money or a passing trend. What's changed isn't just the hype cycle: it's the regulatory foundation underneath it. The passage of the GENIUS Act, the repeal of SEC guidance SAB 121 on crypto custody, and a visible shift in how banks and financial institutions are engaging with stablecoins have moved this conversation from theoretical to operational. Banks that were quietly watching are now building. Companies that had no public stablecoin strategy 12 months ago are now processing stablecoin transactions in more than 150 countries. But here's what's worth paying attention to: the version of stablecoins that actually reaches everyday people won't look like what the original crypto community envisioned. No seed phrases. No self-custody. No libertarian utopia. What mass adoption looks like is a Stripe-powered merchant settlement that runs on blockchain rails while the customer sees something that looks exactly like a credit card transaction. As Nik puts it, "the revolution has to become a lot more boring first."That's not a failure of the original idea. That's how every major technology shift has played out, from radio to the internet. The infrastructure gets built, the guardrails go in, the corporates arrive, and what was once radical becomes routine. The same pattern is showing up in how banks and FinTech companies are working together. The old model of banks acquiring technology companies and absorbing them in-house has largely failed. What's replacing it is a partnership model: tech-forward institutions like FinWise, Column Bank, and Cross River Bank figuring out how to extend their capabilities without overreaching their charters. The tension between "you're either a bank or a tech company" has given way to something more practical. That shift in thinking is exactly what Nik built StableCon around. After six years of running This Week in FinTech and hearing repeated calls to launch a conference, the case for yet another general FinTech or crypto event wasn't there. There are more than 250 conferences globally with FinTech in the title. What didn't exist was a conference sitting at the specific intersection of banking, FinTech, and crypto, focused entirely on stablecoins: not asset price speculation, not blockchain theory, but the actual infrastructure of how money moves. The conference was announced January 17, 2025. It ran May 29 in New York City. That's five months to plan, hire, sell tickets, and pull off an inaugural event in one of the most expensive cities in the world. At the start of May, only 400 tickets had been sold. In the final two weeks, 500 more sold as word spread and people realized they needed to be in the room. Final attendance: more than 1,000.What the event revealed was as important as the numbers. Attendees were so focused on meeting each other that many skipped the general sessions entirely. That's not a failure: that's what happens when you gather a thousand people who are actually working in the same ecosystem and give them a room for the first time. The feedback confirmed it: StableCon filled a gap that BTC Vegas, Token2049, Permissionless, Money 2020, Consensus, Finovate, and FinTech Nexus weren't filling. The next StableCon US is expanding to three days, moving to Washington, DC at the Gaylord at National Harbor, and shifting to September to avoid scheduling conflicts. The goal is to bring in policy participants, regulators, law firms, and...
In this emotional and unforgettable episode of Ravished, hosts Nik and Donna dive deep into The Women by Kristin Hannah, and let's just say… we were not prepared. From the very first pages, this sweeping story of courage, friendship, sacrifice, and resilience pulled us in completely. We laughed at the tender moments, cried through the heartbreak, and absolutely fell in love with the strength and complexity of these women.Nik and Donna unpack the emotional weight of the Vietnam era, the often-overlooked stories of women who served, and the powerful themes of love, identity, and belonging that Kristin Hannah captures so beautifully. We share our favorite scenes, the moments that wrecked us (yes, tissues were involved), and why this novel will stay with us long after the final page. If you're ready for a heartfelt conversation about a book that truly ravished us, this episode is for you.

Nik Seetharaman is a special operations–trained cyber leader turned founder, known for bringing an operator's mindset to some of the most sensitive security programs in American industry. A former JSOC advance‑force operator attached to an East Coast Naval Special Warfare squadron, he ran advanced cyber warfare and close‑range reconnaissance missions before crossing over into the world of high‑stakes defense technology and enterprise security. In industry, Nik helped build and lead security at three of the most influential defense‑tech companies of the last decade. He served as head of cybersecurity operations at SpaceX and later led international cyber defense programs at Palantir, giving him a front‑row seat to how software, data, and security shape modern national power. He then became CIO and CISO at Anduril Industries, where he built the company's cybersecurity and weapons‑system security programs from the ground up while Anduril was racing to field autonomous systems for the Pentagon. Today, Nik is the founder and CEO of Wraithwatch, a cyber defense company born from his frustration that defenders are almost always forced to react second. At Wraithwatch, he is focused on “weaponizing” AI for defense at scale—using advanced models to help blue teams pre‑empt and out-iterate attackers instead of learning only from breaches and red‑team reports. Across each chapter of his career, he has carried forward the same core idea: apply special operations discipline, speed, and clarity of mission to how software, security teams, and AI‑driven defenses are built and run. Beyond Hours and Handshakes: In this episode, Nik sits down with HR specialist and aviation interview legend Angie Marshall of Cage Marshall Consulting, to reveal what really happens on the other side of the airline interview table. Angie shares the origin story behind Cage Marshall Consulting and explains how behavioral interviews have transformed pilot hiring from the 1990s to today. Together, they explore what interviewers truly look for in pilot candidates: authenticity, humility, situational awareness, and trustworthiness. Angie also explains why even astronauts and Blue Angels pilots invest in interview prep and how one-on-one coaching transforms anxious pilots into confident candidates. EV Cayman and Boxster Project on the Chopping Block Big news out of Stuttgart: Porsche has pulled the EV Cayman and Boxster from their configurator, and reports are surfacing that Porsche leadership held internal meetings to kill the project entirely. So is this a win or a loss? Our take: probably more win than loss. This was shaping up to be a failure to launch. The enthusiasm for an electric mid-engine Porsche was never really there from the core enthusiast base, and the market has been sending clear signals. Sometimes the best move is knowing when to walk away before you're too far in. The money lost hurts, but a forced launch that lands flat would've hurt the brand more. Magnus Walker Collection Heading to RM Sotheby's — No Reserve Magnus Walker is sending a significant portion of his collection to auction at RM Sotheby's, and the cars are listed with price estimates and—here's the key detail—no reserve. If you've spent any time in the auction world, you know how rare and how meaningful that is. It signals real commitment to sell. The cars we're watching most closely: the Minerva Blue 930 estimated at $175-200k, and the 996 GT2 at $125-150k—nearly 100k miles on it, but it's a GT2, and those don't come around often. Honorable mention to the 996 GT3 at $100-125k. Estimates feel fair across the board, but no reserve means the floor is the floor and the ceiling is whatever the room decides. Expect most of these to go higher, not lower. Fahren — Last Call, Spots Nearly Gone This is your final warning. Fahren spots are almost gone. If you're even remotely considering it, stop thinking and put your deposit in now to lock your spot. You can figure out the rest later. Don't be the person who waited too long and missed it. Head to pcartalk.com. Singer Drops a Wide Body Convertible Singer has built a wide body convertible, and this is a bigger deal than people may realize. Factory wide body drop tops were made in period—just not many of them. Singer's version brings all their engineering refinement along for the ride, including a 4.0L naturally aspirated motor making 420 horsepower. For the person who wanted a wide body convertible and has the means to make it happen, Singer just gave them the answer. The heritage is real, and the execution is Singer. Hard to argue with that. MotorTrend's Top 5 911s One Journalist Has Ever Driven MotorTrend published a list of the top 5 911s one of their journalists has ever driven: the first-gen 930 3.0 pre-intercooler Turbo, the 993, a 996 generation car, the 991.2, and the 992 GT3 RS. Opinion-based, sure, but it's a great conversation starter. The 930 pre-intercooler making the list says a lot—there's something about that raw, unfiltered experience that sticks with people. What do you think of this grouping? Is there a generation missing that deserves a spot? Let us know. Outro That's the show. Thanks for listening. 2. Most brands spend all their time obsessing over ads and creative and completely ignore the website experience that actually converts the traffic. In this solo episode, Nik does a live teardown of multiple ecom websites and breaks down what separates a “nice-looking Shopify site” from a site that actually drives revenue. He walks through the modules, UX decisions, copy, navigation, and merchandising details that most brands overlook, but that make all the difference in conversion. Nik covers why lifestyle photography and positioning matter more than aesthetics, how the best brands use push-and-pull storytelling, and the small micro-copy moments that guide customers toward checkout. He also dives into what high-performing supplement funnels do better than everyone else, including social proof and PDP structure. If you want to build a site that feels premium, converts colder traffic, and actually earns the next click, this episode is for you. Roku pioneered streaming on TV.
