Whew! This one was juicy. I sat down for my very first ever all-female roundtable with two of my dearest, most brilliant soul sisters—Dr. Lalita and Simone Heng—and let me tell you, we did not hold back. From getting shushed (multiple times) in a Tallinn café to unpacking what it really means to be a brown, bold, and brave woman in today's world, this episode is the unapologetic, heart-expanding chat you didn't know you needed. We're getting into everything: growing up the “rainbow sheep” of our families, healing generational wounds, thriving in male-dominated industries, and building deep, aligned female friendships that aren't just “transactional.” So pull up a seat, pour your matcha (or your wine), and get ready to feel seen, heard, and maybe even a little called out—in the best possible way.

What does faithfulness look like when the ground beneath you literally shakes? In this deep dive into Revelation 3:7–13, Pastors Josh Howerton, Carlos Erazo, and Tim Smith, unpack the powerful message to the church in Philadelphia—a community that stood firm through earthquakes and persecution, earning Jesus' pure commendation. They explore what it means to be a spiritual pillar in a crumbling culture, how ancient history intersects with modern mission, and why evangelism isn't just for “professional Christians.” Plus, the crew tackles common myths about megachurches and shares practical ways to live like Jesus really is returning soon. Stick around for a lively debate about Beast Games, and a moment of inspiration from a NASA believer who brought church to orbit.
By his wounds. His wounds are the source of healing. Our wounds are the wounds that are healed by his wounds. Our wounds may even become the source of healing for others because we have been healed by his wounds. What an unimaginable mystery. Wounds heal. Healing from wounds. Have we considered the magnificence or the near-unbelievability of this reality?Let's put that question another way: “By what means may I understand and experience Christ's wounds not just in juridical terms, as the providential means by which God chose to ‘take away' sin, but as the living source of a remedy by which sin is cured and humanity's wounds, my wounds, are healed?” By what means may I understand and experience that? Indeed, that is the central question in the book my guest today has authored. The book is Healing Wounds, and the author is Bishop Erik Varden, a Cistercian monk who is bishop of Trondheim, Norway. In addition to Healing Wounds, Bishop Varden is author of other works like Chastity: Reconciliation of the Senses and The Shattering of Loneliness: On Christian Remembrance. It's no secret to some of my longtime listeners that I'm originally from Los Angeles; sometimes referred to as the land of the rich, famous and forever young. That “fountain of youth”, has been featured and celebrated in films, commercials and advertising for decades, leading those of us who are now in our more “mature years”, to believe that we've become irrelevant, worthless and should claim our rightful spot in the proverbial “pasture”. Well, Ande Lyons, the guest joining me today, has made it her mission to dismantle age-related stereotypes and explore the limitless potential that comes with experience and wisdom, and she does so as the host and producer of her "Don't Be Caged by Your Age" podcast. A seasoned entrepreneur and global startup mentor, Ande seeks to inspire and empower her listeners to thrive at any age, especially after the age of 65. With over a decade of podcasting experience and more than 800 episodes under her belt, including 250 episodes of her "Startup Life Show” on YouTube, and ‘Your Ink Story' podcast, she's passionate about sparking meaningful conversations that ignite change and growth. As the proud founder of four diverse businesses, ranging from tech to food, Ande has navigated the exhilarating highs and challenging lows of entrepreneurship, gaining insights and stories that she generously shares with her listeners. She's taken that generosity to the streets, so to speak, by forming the New England Podcasters Group, a vibrant community of storytellers and creators who gather monthly to collaborate, learn, and grow. NEPG provides a supportive space for podcasters to refine their craft, connect with one another, and expand their reach with their monthly speaker series featuring industry leaders and innovators. Whether she's mentoring entrepreneurs, hosting pro-aging conversations, or building community through podcasting, Ande is a source of inspiration and empowerment with anyone she connects with, by helping them to embrace new opportunities and live their most fulfilling lives. Floki asks satyr bard Lysander to go see why some grigs and sprites are searching the Dead Magic Zone, so he assembles a team of dragonborn monk Kathar Videro, feytouched human sorcerer Flip, and two new PCs: halfling wizard Vond Lightfoot and dragonborn ranger Balastair. After a nearly deadly encounter with a displacer beast in the night, they talk to the grigs, who seem to be looking for a way to cure their ailing King Filbnabmeister. The party travels to the Grig Little Kingdom, where they drink some "shrinky drinky" and talk to Princess Hollylollybon and the sketchy vizier Jhabshasid in the Ogre Skull Palace. King Filbnabmeister is afraid of the dark and the only person who can access a magical library of some sort, and the shadows seem to behave extra-strangely here. One of the servants, Nannyplumkins, shows the party where to find the now imprisoned former captain of guards, Bentonkadonk. The party manages to free Ben, but in so doing the alarm is raised and the Ogre Skull Palace gets locked down. Lysander sneaks in to find the Princess and King but triggers the alarm once more when Shattering a door. He and the rest of the party flee the village with Ben, and head back to the Dead Magic Zone, where they learn that the grigs and ravens were looking for something there that Jhabshasid wants.

I'm Andrea Samadi, an author, and an educator with a passion for learning and launched this podcast 7 years ago with the goal of bringing ALL the leading experts together (in one place) to help us to APPLY this research in our daily lives. On today's EPISODE #358 we will cover: ✔ How licensed psychologist and former clinical social worker Craig Polsfuss, (among the pioneers of the Three Principles movement in the 1980s) bridged psychology, spirituality, and brain science to help people achieve mental well-being, top performance and spiritual insight. ✔ Uncover the formula to create your own Reality Shattering Insights. ✔ Learn how tap into a deeper consciousness that can lead to life-changing insights and self-discovery. For today's EP #358, we meet with a pioneering psychologist and author of the book published just last November, Reality-Shattering Insights[i], the first in a 4-book series entitled VoLT: The Vortex of Living Truth. Today's guest, Craig Polsfuss, a licensed psychologist and former clinical social worker, who pioneered the Three Principles movement in the 1980s after a powerful awakening. With nearly five decades of experience, he integrates psychology, spirituality, and brain science to help people achieve mental wellbeing, top performance, and spiritual insight. The "reality-shattering insights" that he shares inside his book will open your eyes, if you are looking for answers, to questions you might not have even known that you were asking yourself. Before we meet Craig Polsfuss, and begin our journey of self-discovery: A discovery that will take us from our head to our heart, and from our heart, into the depths of our soul. I've got to say that this episode is not like ANY I have done before, as Craig covered questions I have had for a very long time. Questions that came up when I first studying Wallace D. Wattles' The Science of Getting Rich book, 25 years ago, that we covered on EP 315[ii] with a 7-PART series. This book was one of the seminars that I sold in the late 1990s when I worked with speaker Bob Proctor. I always wondered “what is that thinking stuff that Wattles describes in his syllabus?” If you signed up for this seminar, you would have been given this syllabus to take home with you laminated. I've got at least 10 of them still today in my office. Back then I had no idea what Wattles was describing. That stuff he says “permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.” And that “a thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.” I always thought it was some sort of “intelligence” but it wasn't until this past January, while studying this book series with Paul Martinelli, who also sold this seminar, and presented it years ago. I learned Paul's point of view that Wattles is saying this “thinking stuff” is God. And he goes on to say that we might all have our own interpretation of what we call this, (some might call it God, others a Higher Power, and others something entirely different) but I think we can all agree that there is something much bigger than us in the world. Something that keeps us connected to others, and can help us. I had to look to see what scientist Dr. Andrew Huberman would say on this topic and he goes on the record to say that he is “in absolute awe of Biology, believes in God” and elaborates by saying if you look at “the magnificence of biology, and the magnificence of nature (he says) it's impossible for (him) to conceive it could have come about any other way.”[iii] So coming back to this episode, if you have EVER wondered like me about this topic, I'm not trying to sell you in what I believe, but just asking you to keep an open mind as you listen. This episode is about: Learning how to Listen to the whispers of your deep knowing… It's about how exactly to pay attention to what comes up when you listen to your breath. We will cover how to drop from your mind and move into your heart… And Just Listen. This is where our next guest, author Craig Polsfuss explains is how you'll uncover your true answer. Just keep an open mind, and you'll see the beauty that exists when we can open our hearts …Reality Shattering Insights. INTRO: Welcome Craig, it's wonderful to meet you today. Where have we reached you this early Monday morning? Are you in St. Paul, MN? I've got to say that when I first saw your work, that I jumped a bit in my chair. Those who know me well, know I have quite a spiritual side, but we all see the world through different lenses. Can you first of all share where this journey (of the mind) began for you, bridging psychology, spirituality and brain science to bring you to where you are today? Q1: You write about "reality-shattering insights" in your new book, and the "proven" human ability to completely transform in an instant. Can you explain what you mean by “reality shattering insights?” and give some examples of people who have transformed their lives with these insights? Q1B: What does a complete personal transformation actually look like, and is instant change truly possible? Q2: I find this topic fascinating, and wrote about a book The Eureka Factor: Aha Moments, Creative Insight and the Brain (by John Kounios and Mark Beeman) on a recent EP330[iv]. Are Reality Shattering Insights like AHA Moments? Q3: What neuroscience component did you discover that contributed to your own personal awakening? How have others taken advantage of this? Can you talk more about this and add some brain science insight? Q3B: What about listeners who are tuning into this podcast episode, and they are curious to learn how to create “reality shattering insights” at will. What are the first steps to begin this transformative journey? Q3C: What is the core formula or method for radical personal transformation? Q3D: What are the different levels of personal and spiritual enlightenment? Q4: What IS this infinite intelligence? Q4: In your book, you mention it's a journey from your “head to your heart” and from your “heart to your soul.” Can you explain this a bit more? How do we “feel” our “soul?” Q5: How does co-creation work? Q6: How does this connect to social and emotional learning? Q7: Where do we go from here? For those who are interested in learning more, where should they begin? Craig, I want to thank you for your time today, sharing your book, Reality Shattering Insights, and decades of research. “Some of what this journey has been about is just the relentless pursuit of excellence through this gift. I really have made that my mission this year and I hope I can do that for people.”My guest for today's episode is Josh Hoey – one of the most compelling comeback stories in American distance running right now. At just 18 years old, Josh made headlines by turning pro straight out of high school, signing with Adidas after setting the national high school indoor 800m record. But instead of a smooth trajectory to stardom, the years that followed were filled with coaching changes, setbacks, and hard lessons about what it truly takes to succeed at the highest level. Now at 25 years old, Josh is having the season of his life. In just the past month, he broke the American indoor 800m record twice, first at the Millrose Games and then again at the U.S. Indoor Championships this past weekend, where he ran 1:43.24. It's a world leading time and the second-fastest indoor 800m time in history. The win also secured him his first Team USA berth for the upcoming World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China. In this episode, Josh opens up about his rollercoaster journey from the struggles of turning pro at such a young age to finding stability with his coach Justin Rinaldi and a training system that finally clicked for him. We talk about the mental shifts, training breakthroughs, and the faith that has carried him through it all. And finally, what his hopes and expectations are as he gets ready for World Indoors.Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on Instagram Guest: Josh Hoey | @joshhoey21 on InstagramSUPPORT OUR SPONSORSKETONE-IQ: Level up your training with Ketone-IQ – a clean shot of energy with no sugar or caffeine. What up, Beasts! Welcome back to the show. In this episode, I had an enlightening conversation with inspiring dietician and holistic health coach, Leah Tarleton. She shared her transformative journey from working in telehealth nutrition with Nourish to founding her own venture, The Nourish Sensitive. Based in Maine and deeply attuned to her own sensitivity, she spoke about how her personal evolution and self-discovery have reshaped her approach to health. Our discussion explored how genuine, empathetic relationships—not just the traditional metrics of food and exercise—are key to true wellness, and how her unique work with highly sensitive and neurodivergent individuals has allowed her to create a space where holistic healing can truly flourish. What truly resonated with me was her bold departure from the standard “eat less, move more” mantra. Through her certification in mind-body eating and the adoption of intuitive eating practices, she revealed a paradigm shift that challenges the damaging effects of diet culture. She introduced me to a holistic framework built around nine nourishing elements spanning mind, body, and spirit—covering everything from emotional health and self-empowerment to holistic nutrition and digestive wellness. This conversation deepened my understanding of health and reaffirmed my commitment to an integrative, compassionate view of wellness—one that recognizes the complexity of our mind, body, and spirit far beyond just numbers and calories.Bio: Leah Tarleton, MS, RDN is a registered dietitian, certified holistic health and mind- body eating coach, and the founder of The Nourished Sensitive—a wellness community and coaching practice dedicated to supporting sensitive individuals on their journeys to vibrant health and self- empowerment through blending principles of evidence-based nutrition, dynamic eating psychology, and holistic wellness with compassionate, person-centered coaching. Leah's definition of health and wellness goes beyond diet and exercise to encompass emotional well-being, embodiment, ritual, spiritual exploration, and creative expression.Through her signature 9 Elements of Nourishment framework, Leah helps sensitive humans put themselves first, harness their sensitivities as strengths, and find a creative expression that serves their community and the world, enabling them to lead a more authentic and purposeful life.As always, I hope something lands with you today.
