If you take a moment to think about your relationship with money, how does it make you feel? Do you immediately go to the negative self-talk about all the ways you don't deserve to grow wealth because you're not smart enough, you haven't studied the right things or you've grown up thinking that money was bad. That age old saying is going around in your head, "Money Can't Buy You Happiness", so why try to accrue it. Well let me tell you, this type of thinking is never going to get you anywhere. You need to change your mindset around money, and you need to do it immediately. If you're living a life of scarcity, taking no risks, setting small goals, thinking small, then this is all you'll ever have. How about you educate yourself, you start working hard, and you flip that dialogue. My guest today can be best described as Carmen San Diego. A sweet, unassuming type character at first glance but when you get to know her and hear her story, you'll see that she is actually the international woman of mystery. Coraline has been playing in the business arena for close to two decades, shadowing her parents in their home business since the age of 11. She has a fascination with all things business and making money; but not in your a-typical style. Her wealth of knowledge was acquired through the ownership of multiple businesses, being an active property investor and developer. By the age of 27 she had accumulated a fair chunk of cash which enabled her to live with choice and freedom; however it wasn’t all a rosy trip! Divorce, failed investments and losing 7 figures taught her a thing or three about sustainability during these rough times and a thing or two about the way society treats “failure”. Coraline holds knowledge on what most consider “the secrets of the rich” and is committed to bridging the gap on all things money and wealth accumulation for people from all walks of life. She has a special offering for podcast listeners: - Basic Business Money Bitch released 1 November 2019. The offering for Angela's audience is a suite of Bonuses when using the code: ANGEL Sale for this course will be available 16 October. The audience can register here for their interest for now. Coraline mentions her "Money Game" on this episode. If you'd like to play, here's the breakdown: Every day, you have a fictitious amount of money to spend. Starting on Day 1, you have $100 to spend.Every day after, that number increases by $100.Day 1: $100Day 2: $200Day 3: $300 and so forth... THE GUIDELINES:- You cannot re-spend that money on something you have previously spent it on (example: Day 2's money is not to be spent on groceries if you already allocated oney to that on Day 1)- You must spend it ALL. You can INVEST it, providing where you're investing it adheres to the previous guidelines.THINGS TO OBSERVE & ASK YOURSELFThe magic of this game is often noticed a few days into this game, once you've exhausted all of your usual spending habits.Consider:- What do you default spending money on?- How does it feel to spend the money?- At what point, from a dollar aspect, do you feel discomfort?- What stories are coming up for you every day? There were quite a few books discussed on today's episode, so head to the website for the full list and show notes.

Finding peace in those difficult decisions

As parents of a child with an addiction, we are often tasked with making incredibly difficult and challenging choices. It can be quite a battle to decipher the better decisions from the bad ones. And, it is often difficult to move forward without reflecting back on the many options we had and the one we selected.  Second guessing ourselves is an easy habit to get into and a difficult one to break. Last month I was presented with a challenge that I have been preparing for over the past year. I knew the day would come and when it did, I made the decision that I made. While I still have some discomfort over the action I chose to take, there was a component of it that I was completely at peace with.   One of the many educational components of my journey was learning how to make better decisions and discovering how to become comfortable with both the choice and the outcome.  While I still wrestle with the pros and cons of every action, I have learned to be more at peace with the entire decision making process.  In today’s blogcast, I share the foundation on which this trust and peace in constructed. It doesn’t mean I don’t reflect on my many options before, during, and after the decision; but, it does mean I have learned to more readily let go of the fear and doubt that used to linger in my obsessive mind. In the process, I have found a quiet confidence in my decision-making process that empowers me to have more clarity and decisiveness. And, it frees me from becoming entangled in what I have historically defined as the required outcome of every decision. **** If you desire to regain control of your life. If you desire to learn how to make better, stronger, healthier, and more rational decisions. If you don’t know where to start or struggle to stay on task. Let me know.  I would be happy to help you create your personal 100Day plan. It will completely transform your life. If you are struggling with a loved one’s addiction and are looking for a path to clarity and peace, I am here to help. Contact me now. You can reach me at: dave@100Pedals.com. Looking forward to another year despite the chaos

“No matter how dark the present appears, I choose to live for the promise of the future...” This was the first quote I celebrated as I completed my first 100Pedals bike ride on January 1, 2011.  It has been six years since I made the decision that my life, despite the chaos of my son’s addiction, was going to be different. It had to be. If I didn’t do something to change my life, his addiction would continue to destroy me. In today’s blogcast, I reflect on the powerful transformation the 100Pedals commitment has had on my life, how it has helped me find peace despite the chaos of addiction, and why I share this message of hope with parents and loved ones. There was a time where I was looking for absolute answers for dealing with my son’s addiction. His recovery was and still is my highest priority. In six years, my life has really changed for the better. The objective has never changed; however, my responses to the outcomes are now dramatically different. What I have learned is there are no absolute answers to complex problems; nor are there any guarantees that things will turn out the way we want them to. Despite doing all that I can to set an example, mentor, coach, and encourage, my son’s recovery has still been an elusive dream. I have come to realize and be at peace with the reality that my son’s recovery is up to him and that the timing of his recovery is completely beyond my control. Despite the frustrations that exist in this truth, I have learned that the healthier I am spiritually, emotionally, physically, and psychologically provides a great opportunity for me to be a beacon of love, light, hope, and encouragement for my son on his journey. Whatever path he chooses is not a reflection in me as a parent, as a dad, or as a teacher; it simply means my son has the power to make his choices. Only he can decide when, how, and where recovery will happen, if ever. While it can be confounding and painful, I have found peace in that truth because I have moved forward to a healthier, more balanced place in my life. One that gives me the ability to accept the outcomes of his choices and the strength to assist him if and when he asks for it.  If you desire to regain control of your life. If you desire to learn how to make better, stronger, healthier, and more rational decisions. If you don’t know where to start or struggle to stay on task. Let me know. I would be happy to help you create your personal 100Day plan. It will completely transform your life. I am here to help. Just ask me how. Contact me now at  dave@100Pedals.com. Let’s get started now.
