Argus Hamilton is the human embodiment of The Comedy Store, with the distinction of being one of the original Comedy Store comics and the only person of his generation who still works there today. In other words, he's the perfect guest for WTF, as Marc continues building a comprehensive oral history of the infamous club. Argus tells some stories and dispels some myths about The Store's origins, about the comics who really put the place on the map, about the big names like Pryor, Williams and Kinison who made the place their playground, and about his unique relationship with Mitzi Shore, the woman behind it all. At the peak of his career in the late ‘80s, Sam Kinison was selling out Madison Square Garden and appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone. Kinison was raised to become an evangelical preacher, wasn’t any good at it, and turned to comedy to find his voice. With a legendary appetite for drugs and women, His rise to fame has become legend and a cautionary tale for up and coming comedians. On today’s episode we spoke with the Director of I AM SAM KINISON, Adrian Buitenhuis. We learn about his start in documentary filmmaking (from Aboriginal paintings to Suge Knight and Heath Ledger), and why the legacy of Sam Kinison is worth revisiting decades after his cultural peak and untimely death. The film features interviews with Jay Leno, Charlie Sheen, Corey Feldman, Argus Hamilton, Felicia Michaels, Bill Burr, Judy Tenuta, Joe Rogan, and Bill Kinison.I AM SAM KINISON is available on iTunes and The Paramount Network, the recent rebrand of Spike TV.Follow us on:Twitter: @supdocpodcastInstagram: @supdocpodcastFacebook: @supdocpodcastsign up for our mailing listAnd you can show your support to Sup Doc by donating on Patreon.
In the first of two special episodes that prove if you become old, you run into everybody again, Christian is joined in studio for a return visit from "Community", "Vice Principals" and "American Dad!" writer Tim Saccardo, where they pick up the conversation from Bladtcast episodes 10 and 11 (re-purposed for Bladtcast 242), including: sage-like advice from Al Bundy, TV short-hand, and a surprising deep dive on Tony Danza's career. They talk about dabbling in stand-up comedy, then make sure Dave Foley never wants to work with either of them. A conversation about Al Franken's latest book leads to a very spirited discussion about Saturday Night Live re-runs, and their favorite cast from the late 80's. They wonder how Bladtcast Nation first discovered SNL, talk about Eddie Murphy's laugh (and recent lack thereof), Inside Joke Dot TV and Inside Joke Productions, sound design on the cheap, and soliciting film festivals in the pre-internet days of the early 2000's. For internet search purposes, it's worth noting that this episode contains shout outs to Ronnie Coppola, David Gelles, Andrew Tavani,Kevin Miller, Benny Tudino (getting a back massage from Hoboken), David Rubin of the Rubin Report, Simmy Kustanowitz, Tom Kelly, Jenni Gilroy, Aaron Bleyart, Chris DeLuca, Carly Wray, Gladys Simon, Greg Cohen, Brian Stack, Max Weinberg, Argus Hamilton, Tom Dreeson and more!

Ep #18 -I head back to D.C. on this one guys - thats Washington D.C. I got introduced to the political backdrop when I did Pauly~tics a few years ago. I was also introduced to a nice fellow named Grover Norquist, who's an American political advocate and Founder/President of Americans for Tax Reform. Grover was nice enough to let me record with him at his apartment in Washington. He's a fun guy, and we actually realized he does stand-up comedy as well. Pretty crazy. I thought it was appropriate that I got commentary from Argus Hamilton, who's been doing political comedy for many years at the Comedy Store. I like this episode, and I hope you guys do too. Sit back and enjoy a little Paulytics brrrozzzz.
Cort and Joe take on Late Night Talk show's and get some inside scoop on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson from Legendary Comedian Argus Hamilton at The World Famous Comedy Store.
