Tom Wheeler and Dave Foley discuss the latest developments in the UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) community, focusing on the compelling testimony of Jake Barber, a former special forces pilot. Barber reports having participated in recoveries of non-human technology and describes a deeply emotional experience with a UAP. The hosts explore the idea of psionic agents—military personnel trained for telepathic interaction with UAPs—and address the government's inconsistent and dishonest responses to ongoing mysterious drone sightings. spectrevisionradio.com/really linktr.ee/spectrevisionsocial Learn more about your ad choices. Blast from the Past was 75th highest-grossing movie of 1999, opening at #4 at the box office on Valentine's Day weekend and going on to take in $40 million worldwide on a $35 million budget. The first of two 1999 collaborations between director Hugh Wilson and star Brendan Fraser, Blast from the Past included a stellar supporting cast, including Alicia Silverstone, Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek, Dave Foley, Nathan Fillion, Joey Slotnick, and the legendary Jennifer Lewis. Critics were pretty even split on it - partly because it was inevitably compared to 1998's Pleasantville - and none were especially effusive in their praise, but it went on to find a charmed audience on home video and has emerged as the quintessential "hidden gem" in the years since. One if its fans is actor Samm Levine, who graced the small screen in 1999 in the beloved (and prematurely canceled) television series Freaks and Geeks. He joined John and Jenn to talk Walken, swing dance, and his most famous creation, the beloved character Zoot Suit Ryan.
We're ending the first week of our April theme known as “AWKWARD LAUGHTER 2: THE FLOP” with a selection that is a fond memory from our youth. Apparently, not enough people can say that they watched “KIDS IN THE HALL: BRAIN CANDY” in the theaters when it came out in 1996 but our two hosts actually did pay to see this movie. Or they at least borrowed money from their parents to go see it. The Canadien skit comedy troupe garnered a loyal audience in North America after spending years on basic cable and are absolutely influential to modern comedy. (The good stuff, anyway) It seemed exciting when Paramount opted to release a Kids in the Hall movie but, unfortunately, not much more than the hardcore Kids in the Hall fans went to see it. We were huge fans but were also children who were, admittedly, watching something more adult than our parents intended. It's amazing what they didn't pay attention to right under their noses. Decades later we reevaluate a personal cult favorite. A film project that brings about mixed feelings upon reflection for the talented players involved those being the director Kelly Makin and the cast. Shit, we might as well list them: Scott Thompson, Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald & Mark McKinney. There you go. Does this smart character-driven satire of corporations and cynical marketing still hold up? Does it deserve more? How would this movie fare amongst people who didn't know anything about The Kids in the Hall? Hear us out and watch the movie at this link (that worked as of this posting) right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc4ND4Javf4 Pretty sure direct media for this has been out of print for a while so click away. Burkholder is perhaps best known for his portrayal of “Max Braverman” in NBC's long running award-winning series PARENTHOOD, from producers Jason Katims, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. Here Max raised awareness while portraying a young boy with Asperger's syndrome. After the second episode aired, Asperger's was one of the most frequently searched terms on Google. He also played the lead role in Paramount TV's WHEN THE STREET LIGHTS GO ON for DGA, Oscar, IDA, and Emmy-nominated director Brett Morgen. His notable recurring roles include HBO's IN TREATMENT and BROTHERS AND SISTERS. In film, Burkholder starred in Debra Eisenstadt's hit Sundance comedy BLUSH opposite Wendy McLendon-Covey; and in the title role of BENJAMIN, alongside comedy veterans Rob Corddry, Kevin Pollak and Dave Foley. Burkholder began his career at a very young age in films including DADDY DAY CARE directed by Steve Carr, FRIENDS WITH MONEY directed by Nicole Holofcener, and a starring role in the Michael Bay-produced hit feature THE PURGE opposite Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey. In the world of voiceover, Burkholder has voiced characters on a number of hit series including Amazon Prime's INVINCIBLE, FAMILY GUY, THE CLEVELAND SHOW, AMERICAN DAD and THE LAND BEFORE TIME. Today we'll be reviewing Kids in the Hall Episode 8 of Season 5 which aired on December 28, 1994.
In the Season Finale of WEAPONIZED, Jeremy and George look back at some of the key moments from the past thirteen months, including exclusive interviews with major insiders from government UFO investigations (Jay Stratton, Dr. James Lacatski, Dr. Colm Kelleher), disclosure proponents and journalists (Rep. Tim Burchett, Richard Dolan, Ross Coulthart, Bryce Zabel, UFO Joe Murgia), incredibly talented writers and artists (Robbie Williams, Dave Foley, Ben Schneider, Duncan Trussell, Whitley Strieber, John Long) and other surprises including leaked videos obtained from government files. In a fortuitous twist, the Pentagon's long-awaited report from AARO about the history of US investigations of UFOs was released just in time for our last episode. It turned out to be a perfectly predictable propagandized rewriting of history, punctuated by sloppy errors, blatant falsehoods, and the dismissal of testimony from dozens of witnesses. ••• Watch the three-part UFO docuseries titled UFO REVOLUTION on TUBI here : https://tubitv.com/series/300002259 ••• GOT A TIP? Newsradio: "Sinking Ship" What do you do when you're a surrealist sitcom that's been treated badly by NBC and pretty sure you're about to be cancelled? Blow all the network's budget on an effects-heavy period piece! In what was famously Phil Hartman's last appearance, Newsradio parodies the recent and hugely popular Titanic film...or the trailer for it, at least. We talk about the standout production designs, this show's influence on network comedy, and its stacked cast that includes some of the best comedic actors (Dave Foley, Maura Tierney, Stephen Root) and some of the worst people alive (Joe Rogan, Andy Dick). In part 1 of Comedians on UFOs, we are joined by Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani, Aisling Bea, Dave Foley, Steve Berg, and Moshe Kasher!UFO accounts can sometimes reminds us of a playful world. A humorous world. A species looking for structure and pattern and constantly being bombarded with both chaos and ridiculousness. And that if most definitely UFOs. And it's also comedy. Comedy gives us a communal experience full of confusion and raw emotional release. It makes us feel more human than ever. So when we're faced with something possibly non-human, we can choose to run away from it or fight it. Or, we can embrace it and sometimes, laugh about it. In this series, Ryan digs into the archives of Somewhere in the Skies to bring you a collection of interviews he's conducted throughout the years with comedians. And, as you'll see, a common thread starts to weave its way through these conversations. Why are comedians drawn to UFOs? How can we use it to both accept and possibly even understand UFO phenomenon.
