MacKinnon is no stranger to the team as he has been the interim coach for the past two years during the pandemic. Mackinnon began his coaching career in 1982 and served as a Coach in the NCAA ranks for 25 years as an Assistant, Associate Head Coach, and Head Coach at several prestigious institutions including George Washington University, Marshall University, Niagara University, Notre Dame University and the University of North Carolina. The son of a lifelong college and NBA coach, Bob MacKinnon joins the PO:D for an outstanding visit that highlights his 30+ years of coaching at every level in college, and then 8 seasons on the professional level.  The All-Time leader in the NBA G League in both Call-ups (28) and wins (207), Coach Mac visits about giving Josh Magette his first opportunity, to helping change the life path of current NBA player Carlos Silva from a camp in Africa.  He does coaching clinics in countries all over the world every year and epitomizes how a coach is a teacher and can make differences in lives.

Through the years Coach Mac has recreated himself over and over again. He has spent time coaching at the collegiate levels including time at the University of North Carolina and Notre Dame to stints in China and now with the Texas Legends.
