Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley with Mark Schlereth start the third hour breathing a sigh of relief that the stadium is staying downtown, or rather, staying out of Lone Tree and Castle Rock. They are joined by FOX’s lead college football analyst, Joel Klatt, to get his take on Bo’s performance and continuing development, as well as his take on Sean Payton’s play calling. Stink gets hot and bothered listening to Mike McGlinchey talking about the run game. The guys try to calculate how much fluid Stoke drinks during every show. Mark and Stoke finish the third hour explaining to Mike why Carmelo Anthony doesn’t deserve to have his jersey retired here in Denver.
Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley open today’s show celebrating the announcement for the Broncos’ new stadium, especially since it’s not in Castle Rock. They imagine all of the marquee events the Mile High City will host come 2031 and beyond. The guys discuss the true meritocracy that Coach Prime is running in Boulder in the age of NIL while they highlight the great story of the Buffs’ prospective QB, Ryan Staub. Carmelo Anthony was inducted into the Hall of Fame and he had some kind things to say about Denver, are you ready to forgive him for the Melo-Drama? Does he deserve to be honored? The guys discuss breakfast on Friday before they gauge the level of concern that the Broncos’ first round pick didn’t start week one.

The Giants are not allowing Jaxson Dart to talk to the media which violates the NFL media policy. What are they worried about? If they don't want him talking or playing then make him the third quarterback. Larry from Indiana checks in as he's thrilled to have Daniel Jones on his team. A caller has had it with Mike Kafka and the Giants offensive scheme or lack thereof. We went over the spread for Giants/Cowboys and Bills/Jets. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Vikings coming back and beating the Bears in Chicago. We heard Brian Daboll talk about his confidence in Wilson at QB. We heard Rex Ryan call Mike McDaniel ‘nerd boy'. The Mets lost 1-0 in Philadelphia and Alvarez had a horrendous at bat to end the game. We heard a clip of Carmelo Anthony and his son talking about the different generations. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said he had no bets on the NFL games this past weekend and it wasn't so interesting to him. He can't just sit there and watch it without some action on the games. Gio said he has a hard time focusing on almost everything now.
Hour 1 Nolan McLean pitched well last night but the Mets offense has been horrible and couldn't score a single run. They are not winning the division now, we can only hope that they hang on and get into the Wild Card. JJ McCarthy and the Vikings came back in the fourth quarter to beat the Bears even though he played terribly for three quarters. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Mets losing 1-0. Gary, Keith and Ron talked about the Phillies always having ball-girls instead of ball-boys. We heard the sounds of the Vikings coming back to beat the Bears in Chicago. We also heard from McCarthy and Kevin O'Connell after the game. Brian Daboll confirmed Russell Wilson will start vs Dallas. Jerry had a quick preview of Jets/Bills for this weekend. In the final segment of the hour, Rex Ryan went after Mike McDaniel for being a ‘nerd boy'. Hour 2 The Giants are not allowing Jaxson Dart to talk to the media which violates the NFL media policy. He can't just sit there and watch it without some action on the games. Gio said he has a hard time focusing on almost everything now. Hour 3 We started the hour talking about a guy on social media who cleans up overgrown lawns for free. We also talked about the Vikings comeback win over the Bears last night as JJ McCarthy had a strong fourth quarter after doing nothing the first three. A caller said McCarthy reminds him of a young Tom Seaver (that's a joke callback on Boomer). Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Vikings win as we heard Kevin Harlan on the call. The fan that shoved Lamar Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins went on the local news with a neck brace on to apologize (it was actually a comedian pretending to be the fan and he fooled the local news). Mike McDaniel was asked about good things that happened for the Dolphins and it did not go well. In the final segment of the hour, Gio's bucket list golf courses and what kind of nasty crowd are we getting at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage. Hour 4 Today is Dick LeBeau's birthday and he got a birthday shoutout in Boomer's sports minute. Then we spent way too much time talking about him for some reason. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the final strikeout of Francisco Alvarez as the Mets lose to the Phillies 1-0. Mets are now 8 games out of a division they were up 7 games at one point. We almost had 2 no-hitters last night. Right now, there have been none this season. We heard the sounds of the Vikings coming back and beating the Bears last night. Bill Belichick said he's not welcome at the Patriots facility, but Mike Vrabel said he is welcome. The Moment of The Day: Boomer's a big edging guy. In the final segment of the show, Gio was thinking about ranch and how it's his favorite condiment. Boomer argues it's not a condiment. Gio said anything you can put a french fry in is a condiment.
In hour 2 of The Drive, Zach and Phil take a deep dive into the news of the day in the Broncos announcing Burnham Yards as their preferred location for the next stadium. How do the guys feel about their plans to include a retractable roof? What will the city do with the Broncos' old stadium? Zach shares all the details of the new proposed stadium including not using tax payer money for the project. Will the new stadium require "personal seat licenses"? Today's "Three Count" includes where the Broncos landed on the many outlets releasing power rankings after the first week of the season, JJ McCarthy leading the Vikings to a 4th quarter comeback win in his NFL debut, and if the guys would take Tyreek Hill here in Denver with all his headaches he's causing in Miami. Is the cold feud between Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets beginning to thaw out after we saw him thank Denver and the Nuggets in his Hall of Fame speech?

Episode originally aired on Nov. 2, 2021. “Don't make it out, make it better.” That's a line from podcast guest D. Watkins, offered in the book trailer for his book of essays We Speak for Ourselves: A Word from Forgotten Black America, in which he gives voice to the voiceless and shines meaningful light on what it means to come of age in East Baltimore, in one of America's poorest black neighborhoods. It's a line you might hear as well from D.'s NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, himself a product of an uncertain, unforgiving environment–the housing projects of Red Hook, Brooklyn, and Baltimore. In the future Hall-of-Famer's just-published memoir, Where Tomorrows Aren't Promised: A Memoir of Survival and Hope, an immediate New York Times best-seller, D. helps his celebrated co-author share his story of finding a way out of no way at all, sounding the call for social justice and offering a guidepost for readers looking to pull success from struggle. More than any other athlete's memoir in recent memory, the book offers a perfect pairing of author and subject, as D. brings his own perspective to Anthony's hard-won experience. An editor-at-large for Salon, D.'s work has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, and Rolling Stone, among other publications. Yerrrr! The Need to Know squad sat down with the one and only Mero — Bronx legend, multi-hyphenate menace, and certified culture shifter. From smoke shop runs and wrap flavors you've never heard of (00:49) to building his own creative empire, Mero delivers nonstop laughs, real game, and signature BX energy. He breaks down why TV is cooked and YouTube is king (05:51), raising his beautiful children (17:29), and his hilarious theory that Babe Ruth might've been Black (24:25). He explains why licensing your content is the real power move (30:47) and how he's building Victory Light like the Dominican Dick Wolf (33:07). We get personal with stories about giving fans love at Dave's Hot Chicken (40:41), and being inspired early by Combat Jack (42:40). Mero shares how Marlon Wayans gave him game (58:11), and how Denzel Washington taught him to move with an “attitude of gratitude” (01:00:15). He also talks about co-hosting with Carmelo Anthony on 7PM in Brooklyn and why it's deeper than content (01:37:18). Oh — and yes, Mero answers the age-old question: What's harder — being a Knicks fan or coaching little kids in football? (01:24:19). Mero closes it out with a classic BX take — Yankees fans are spoiled, Mets fans are built different (01:42:14). From gems to jokes, legacy talk to hood stories, this one's special. Tap in! Then, Batum joins the show to preview the Finals as well before talking us through the rest of his career, including what it was like growing up in France and his experiences guarding prime Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and LeBron James at the beginning of his career. He also shares what he learned from Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge at the start of his career on the Blazers. Then, he discusses how the 2015 Warriors changed the game, and why he feels their small ball lineup extended his NBA career. He also shares very candidly why his Charlotte Hornets stint was difficult, the criticisms about his contract at the time, and how he feels Ty Lue and the Clippers saved his career. Lastly, he discusses his career on the French national team, the Olympics, and meeting Victor Wembanyama at the young age. Let's go!0:00 Intro0:17 Cam Johnson14:20 Nicolas BatumGAMBLING PROBLEM? Bomani Jones is joined by Travonne Edwards, host of 'The G.O.T.E.' podcast with Seth Curry, to discuss all things NBA Finals related. The show starts off with Bo saying it's a very convenient time for Travonne to be living in Indiana with the Pacers in the NBA Finals and the Caitlin Clark experience with the Fever (00:39). They move onto the NBA Finals where they debate if Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a true superstar (8:09), how important the Thunder are to Oklahoma (18:46) and what the Pacers need to do defensively to potentially win this series (29:54). They wrap up the show talking about certain players that should've had their number retired, like Carmelo Anthony (32:40), and what Travonne sees going on in Indianapolis during the Caitlin Clark craze.
