In the first half, we need Him and the churches to build places for the growing homeless population to have a place of healing and growth. In the second half, Chris points out that our lives are like the wave coming on shore; they only exist for a short time and fade away. The Bible explains how we can make a difference in our lives and others in the time we have on Earth.

Ignoring the problems in our culture won't make them go away. Instead, we need to ask God to move in our homes and communities and be ready to respond to His Holy Spirit. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the increasing lawlessness in our nation—and the growing movement to turn our hearts back to God that we're seeing arise from the young people. He teaches about King Hezekiah, who had an assignment to change the culture in his lifetime, and he shares some lessons we can learn from this Old Testament leader about how to invite God to shape hearts. People are waking up to the reality of a biblical worldview, and we can be a part of what God is doing!

There's confidence New Zealand schools are turning a corner on literacy skills. The Education Minister says data shows 58 percent of new entrant students are at-or-above phonics expectations after 20 weeks at school - up from 36 percent in Term One. The number exceeding expectations is more than double Term One's figure. Erica Stanford says she wants 90 percent of kids to achieve curriculum level. "As teachers become more confident and capable with explicit teaching and the new curriculum and structured literacy, the results will get better and better and better...we see that overseas." If today were your last day, how would you live it? Pastor James Biddle challenges you to stop drifting through life and start living every day with intentional purpose, contagious passion, eternal perspective, and awareness of God's presence. Through the story of Queen Esther and practical daily choices—like adding value to people, serving others, connecting with family, and giving something away—discover how your daily decisions become doorways to your future destiny. Learn why Christianity takes on new meaning when you stop focusing on yourself and start investing in others, understanding that the most important thing to God is souls because souls count. Will the things you're living for today be worth Jesus dying for, and in 50 years, who will remember you not for your charisma, but for how your faith in Christ impacted their life?

I've been in sales before. For 10 years, I worked in Christian retail. I actually worked at a Christian bookstore inside of a church. Every day I had to manage employees, manage stock, keep track of sales, and please the people that owned the store. I loved selling people things they needed. I sold lots of Bibles. I sold lots of books. I sold lots of gifts. I sold a lot of music. I saw the joy of matching the right product with the right customer. I knew I wasn't just a salesperson. I knew I wasn't just a bookstore manager. I knew that I was in full-time ministry in a Christian bookstore. I knew that what I did every day was making a difference. Imagine a world where all the salespeople quit to go into full-time ministry. That's not a world I want to live in.

Have you felt God calling you to step outside of what you know how to do into an unknown arena? Over 12 years ago I felt led to begin writing. Me, the girl whose college English teacher said that if I didn't start writing shorter essays, I would flunk her class. I had no idea why God wanted me to write, and sometimes the question still begs an answer, but I was obedient, and God opened doors I never knew were there. In this personal episode, I share my journey of stepping outside my comfort zone—from drawing house plans to writing stories—and the doubts that nearly made me quit. But then, God sent a letter. Not just any letter—a handwritten note from a prison inmate who read my “silly little story” and found hope in the most unexpected way. This episode is a powerful reminder that obedience doesn't always come with clarity, but it always comes with purpose. If you've ever questioned your calling, struggled with confidence, or wondered if your story matters… this one's for you.

Here's what to expect on the podcast:What motivated Tricia to establish Attitudes In Reverse (AIR)How AIR is changing conversations around mental health and providing much-needed supportPrograms designed to encourage early awareness and help-seekingShauna and Lucy's moving stories of joining AIR's missionThe surprising comfort and healing that therapy dogs bringAnd so much more! About Tricia:Tricia Baker, along with her family, established Attitudes In Reverse® (AIR®) in 2010, soon after her son Kenny died by suicide following a long battle against severe depression and anxiety. Mental illness is like AIR. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there. It is all around us®. AIR's mission is to create a community of understanding, kindness and empathy through mental health and suicide prevention education. After a 20-year corporate career in marketing, Tricia took the tremendous loss of Kenny and recognized the need for educating youth about good mental health. Since January 2011, Tricia has developed programs and educated over 250,000 students, parents, school staff, and business partners in New Jersey and across the US.Dogs are an integral part of Tricia's work with AIR®, including K-12 mental wellness educational programs. Administrators say that the retention rate of the mental health material is far greater than other programs, as the students associate the materials with visiting the dogs. As AIR Program Director, Tricia launched a program for K-4th graders, teaching young children to identify their emotions through discussions of dogs. Tricia has very recently published her first book; Miki & Friends Go to School: Exploring Emotions through the Eyes of Dogs based on this program. In addition to being a mental health advocate and educator, Tricia is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Instructor and a Certified AIR Therapy Dog Evaluator. Through the AIR Dogs: Paws for Minds program, Tricia has partnered with schools to train staff with their personal dogs to be school-based therapy dog teams. The goal - at least one certified therapy dogs on each school campus. To date, there are approximately 75 certified teams across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. “We were all asking ourselves, ‘what can we do to counter this, what's happening in the world? How can I help my singers understand and navigate what is happening in our country right now?' I made this huge shift in my thinking about what choral music should be and why we should be doing it. It's not just ‘what are you singing and is it gorgeous?' but ‘how are you making a difference? How are you impacting the world?'”Dr. Joy Hirokawa is the Artistic/Executive Director of the Mosaic Youth Chorus, established in 2023 to provide an opportunity for diverse youth to create community, build empathy, and affect positive social change through artistic and expressive choral singing. She is a passionate advocate for giving youth voice through the choral medium and is nationally recognized as a leader in youth choral music. She earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education from Boston University, and both a Master's degree in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Music Education from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hirokawa has taught at all levels from K – Post Grad and frequently appears as a clinician and guest conductor. She is a published author and arranger of choral music. This is Part 2 of a three part conversation with Dr. Susan Schneider. Dr.Schneider is the author of “The Science of Consequences”. For the past eight years Susan has made climate change her primary focus. Her work on climate change and sustainability includes outreach, community projects, organizing, academic and nonacademic publications, and extensive public speaking. As Senior Scientist for the sustainability nonprofit Root Solutions, Dr Schneider helped design projects and coauthored two chapters in its 2022 guidebook, Making Shift Happen: Designing for Successful Environmental Behavior Change. Recent outreach includes a podcast for the Union of Concerned Scientists. Schneider's award-winning book for the public, The Science of Consequences, covers basic learning principles, their role in nature-nurture relations, and their broad range of applications, including sustainability. Schneider is on the faculty at Western Michigan University and serves on its Climate Change Working Group. She also serves on the Tools of Change Landmark Peer Review Panel for Climate Change, and on the board of the nonprofit Green Driving America. Now if you are wondering why a podcast about all things equine is talking about climate change, here's the connection. Horses are grazing animals. That means that collectively horse people own, manage, make decisions about a huge amount of land. What we are learning is healthy pastures help to contribute to healthy horses. Healthy pastures also contribute to biodiversity. Healthy pastures come from healthy soils. Improved soil quality absorbs more water which helps to reduce flooding. Healthy soils also sequesters carbon. So horse people can help in the climate change crisis through the way we manage our land. It's one of those win-win-win situations. Healthier pastures are good for our horses which is good for us and it's also good for the planet. I wanted to explore three major topics with Dr. Schneider. The first is where are we now in terms of climate change? Why should we care? The second is what can we do to make a difference. And the third area is how can we talk to others without shutting them down and driving them away? There are lessons to be learned here not just about how do we talk about climate change, but how do we talk about positive reinforcement training when we're surrounded

In this three part series we're joined by Dr. Susan Schneider is a behavior analyst. She is the author of “The Science of Consequences” which many of you may have read. Normally when we have behavior analysts as guests we talk about academic subjects such as schedules of reinforcement. In this case I wanted to talk to Susan about what horse people can do to help mitigate the climate change crisis. There are lessons to be learned here not just about how do we talk about climate change, but how do we talk about positive reinforcement training when we're surrounded by command-based trainers. In part 1 I set the stage for this conversation and then Dr. Schneider took us to some hopeful solutions that are available to all of us.
