In this episode of Notable Leaders' Radio, I sit down with Andy Crocker, author of The Unconditionals, to explore how five core values, unconditional love, gratitude, integrity, accountability, and endeavor, can transform how we face challenges and build resilience. Andy shares powerful insights and real-life stories that reveal how grounding yourself in these values can help you recover from failure faster, pivot with purpose, and live a life defined by meaning, not perfection. In this episode, you'll learn how to: See failure as a launchpad, not a dead end. When you stop viewing setbacks as defeat, you recover faster and grow wiser, equipped to seize new opportunities with greater clarity and courage. Define success on your own terms. Ditch the societal checklist. Pursuing fulfillment, not perfection, leads to greater joy, authenticity, and personal achievement. Pivot with purpose when life shifts. Unexpected turns are inevitable. A values-based mindset empowers you to adjust course with intention and rediscover meaning, even in the midst of change. Embrace imperfection as a path to progress. Mastery isn't about getting it right the first time—it's about learning, evolving, and moving forward without fear of failure. In this heartwarming episode of Reading with Your Kids, we dive into the magical world of children's literature with two passionate authors who are transforming how kids think about reading, writing, and making a difference. Rae Marsh, author of the Love Maggie series, shares her incredible journey of creating books that truly resonate with children. Inspired by her own daughters, Marsh developed a chapter book and middle-grade novel series that captures the everyday experiences of kids. Her approach is simple yet powerful: encourage children to write about what they know and love. During school visits, Marsh lights up when discussing her mission to inspire young writers. She challenges students to look around their own lives for storytelling inspiration, showing them that their personal experiences are valuable and worth sharing. Her books follow Maggie, a character based on her daughter, navigating school, family, and personal growth. Joining the conversation is Phil Hall, author of "The Day the Children Save the World," who takes a slightly different approach. Hall's book focuses on pro-social behaviors, teaching children how their actions can positively impact the world around them. Through 26 alphabetical examples, he demonstrates how small acts of kindness can create meaningful connections. Both authors share a common goal: empowering children to understand their potential. They believe kids can make a significant difference through creativity, empathy, and intentional actions. Whether it's through storytelling or everyday kindness, these authors are helping shape the next generation of compassionate, confident individuals. Listeners will be inspired by the authors' passion, humor, and commitment to nurturing young minds. The episode offers a delightful glimpse into the world of children's literature and the incredible power of storytelling. Making a Difference Through Media Synopsis: On this compelling episode of Conversations that Make a Difference, host Teresa Velardi welcomes three dynamic women who are harnessing the power of media to inspire social change: Andi Buerger, Cassandra Tindal, and Danielle Bisutti. Andi Buerger unveils the moving stories and powerful advocacy within her forthcoming book, "Voices Against Trafficking," highlighting the urgent fight against human trafficking and how storytelling can drive awareness and action. Cassandra Tindal, founder and editor of Womenz Straight Talk Magazine, discusses her mission to uplift women's voices, address real-world issues, and foster meaningful dialogue through her influential publication. Actress and singer Danielle Bisutti shares her passion for using the arts to make an impact—donating a heartfelt song to the Voices Against Trafficking album and using her creative platforms to amplify important causes. Together, these changemakers explore how diverse media—books, magazines, and music—serve as transformative tools for advocacy, education, and hope. Their candid conversation, guided by Teresa Velardi, inspires viewers to use their own unique voices and creative outlets to make a difference in their communities and beyond. Guests: Andi Buerger, Cassandra Tindal and Danielle Bisutti Bio: Andi Buerger, JD is an international speaker, author, and advocate for victims of human trafficking & exploitation. Andi herself was a victim of child sex trafficking and unspeakable abuses by family members for 17 years. She founded Beulah's Place, which provided temporary shelter services to at-risk, unsheltered teens for 14 years. 300+ youth were successfully rescued and assisted, earning national recognition. Andi later founded Voices Against Trafficking(VAT) to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves — the voiceless victims of human trafficking and exploitation. VAT advocates for the protection of every human's rights regardless of race, gender, culture, or socio-economic status. Voices Against Trafficking-The Strength of Many Voices Speaking As One, gives a portion of proceeds from each sale to survivors of child abuse and trafficking, as does Andi's first book, A Fragile Thread of Hope - One Survivor's Quest to Rescue. Andi launched Voices Of Courage magazine in 2023. It is distributed internationally and accepted into the U.S. Library of Congress. It honors everyday heroes who selflessly fight to protect human rights. These champions come from all walks of life to change communities and the world for the better. A television series by the same title debuts in 2025. Website: www.voicesagainsttrafficking.com Bio: Cassandra Tindal is the Founder, Visionary, and CEO of IMAG Media Inc., and the creator of Womenz Straight Talk®. Driven by an unshakable belief in the power of women's voices and the need for meaningful discourse, Cassandra Tindal didn't just build a media company—she ignited a movement. As the founder of IMAG Media Inc. and the force behind Womenz Straight Talk, Cassandra's vision was clear: to create a multimedia platform where women and marginalized communities could speak boldly, be heard globally, and drive real-world impact on the issues that matter most. Cassandra's passion for storytelling isn't about headlines—it's about humanity. She built Womenz Straight Talk as a hybrid of award-winning journalism, documentary filmmaking, and advocacy. Her mission? To challenge narratives, elevate underrepresented perspectives, and spark conversations that lead to action—whether in business, politics, culture, or social justice. At the heart of every culture, in every corner of the world, lies a shared human truth: we are wired for stories. From ancient oral traditions to today's digital narratives, storytelling is the bridge that connects us—transcending language, politics, and geography. A significant portion of the work that we do for clients entails financial modelling to help understand what is possible. Frequently, we arrive at the conclusion that the person's long term outlook is very secure, and indeed they likely have wealth in excess of requirements. Most commonly in this circumstance, people start to think about early inheritances, and perhaps spending a little bit more on lifestyle. But another path to be pursued, particularly for those without children, is to think about how you might support causes that you are passionate about. Charitable giving not only has a profound impact on society but also brings a deep sense of personal fulfillment to those who give. Our role as financial planners is to ensure that your charitable giving is done in a way that maximises its impact, considering elements such as tax efficiency, and long term sustainability. In this episode, hosts Dr. Abby Eblen from Nashville Fertility Center, Dr. Susan Hudson from Texas Fertility Center, and Dr. Carrie Bedient from the Fertility Center of Las Vegas speak with Richard Kellner, founder of the Polycystic Kidney Disease-Free Alliance, and Natasha Rogina, the organization's chief spokesperson. Together, they discuss polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and how pre-implantation genetic testing-monogenic (PGT-M) can help families prevent passing this genetic condition to their children. Natasha, who has PKD herself, shares her personal decision to pursue IVF with PGT-M to ensure her children would not inherit the disease. PKD is a progressive condition that typically leads to kidney failure by midlife, often requiring dialysis or a transplant. Because many insurers do not cover genetic testing, the PKD-Free Alliance offers grants to help families access PGT-M to prevent passing the trait to their children. The PKD-Free Alliance's goal is to raise awareness and let couples know this option exists. This insightful conversation explores genetic inheritance, reproductive choices, and the future of PKD prevention, offering hope to families facing this challenging condition.
