The RFR team is more shaken up than Waller's snowglobe! Everything is a big ol' mess because of these teens and their feelings on the season one finale of Radio Free Roscoe. Plus, there's a random cameo from the hand jive bully Steve Carter. CanCon Pick of the Week: Once Upon a Hamster. Song of the Week: "With Friends Like You" by Brandtson.
Today we welcome Matt Traxler, guitarist from Brandtson. The band, out of Cleveland was on Deep Elm and The Militia Group back in the day and they recently reissued some lost demos through Matt’s label Steadfast Records. Super fun talking to Matt and a band that if you didn’t realize was around then or now, it’s worth going back and listening to their records. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/washedupemo)

Matt Traxler of Brandtson and Steadfast Records is on the program! We talk about "emo", his near death van experiences, raccoons as pets, how he got into music and much more. Enjoy!
Chapter 127: "SUPER IN LOVE WITH MUSIC" ... as read by Matt Traxler Matt's parent's moved to a blueberry farm at the same time he had his driver's license suspended. When he got his license back he dove headfirst into the local punk and hardcore scene. Matt joined Six Feet Deep and started Steadfast Records, the label that first signed the legendary Zao! Matt put the label to rest when Brandtson signed to Deep Elm but 17 years later, a convergence of events led him to resurrect the label. Matt recalls singing the words to Little Red Corvette as a kid and touring in a haunted van. Bryan talks to Myk about an entire lifetime spent in bands. He produced Zao's All Else Failed, toured Japan with Copeland, and has been accused of selling out. Huge thanks to Myk taking the time and letting this be his very first podcast! Chad Pearson (Mold, Militia Group, P Is For Panda, Reach) and I first encountered each other when he had just landed his "dream job" at Tooth & Nail Records. He went on to start his own booking agency and multiple record labels. He's had a significant hand in the careers of numerous bands including Rufio, Cartel, Brandtson, Copeland and Gasoline Heart. These days he's making big things happen at Reach Records in Atlanta, Georgia. He’s a humble guy who knows how to hustle. Chad is one of the "good guys" in a business full of villains. It's an honor to call him a friend.
