A couple wearing black climbed to the top of the Empire State Building's transmitter, and by the time they climbed back down, they were engaged, and then arrested. Angela Nikolau, 33, and Ivan Kuznetsov, 32, were hit with numerous charges following their stunt, including burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, violation of local laws, possession of burglar's tools, criminal tampering, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. Reza Baluchi tried to "run" across the Atlantic Ocean inside a giant floating hamster wheel bound for London. The Coast Guard deemed the voyage dangerously unsafe, intervened during a days-long standoff, and eventually removed him from the vessel. The incident resulted in federal charges and became one of the more unusual Coast Guard rescues in recent memory.

Most organizations are extraordinarily good at activity and extraordinarily bad at progress. Meetings that produce more meetings. Initiatives launched before the last ones landed. Leaders who are permanently busy and chronically stuck. This is not a strategy problem. It is a pattern problem, and patterns live in culture, not in org charts. This episode examines the invisible cycles that keep organizations in motion without forward momentum: the norms, assumptions, and unspoken rules that make dysfunction feel like diligence.

There are millions of people walking around looking perfectly fine while fighting battles no one can see. In this deeply validating conversation, Amy Kurtz joins Ginny Yurich to talk about chronic illness, medical gaslighting, invisible suffering, and the surprising challenges that can remain even after your body starts to heal. After spending more than a decade searching for answers and eventually being diagnosed with late-stage neurological Lyme disease, Amy realized that recovery isn't always the end of the story. She shares the concept she coined Medical Trauma Brain and explains why so many people remain stuck in fear, hypervigilance, grief, and survival mode long after the crisis has passed. This episode is full of hope, practical tools, and powerful reminders that healing involves more than the body. If you've ever felt dismissed, misunderstood, or trapped on a hamster wheel of desperation, this conversation will make you feel seen.

Do you ever feel like you're constantly rushing but never actually getting anywhere? Looking after everyone else. Thinking about work. Worrying about the future. Feeling overwhelmed. In this episode, we're talking about the hamster wheel so many women over 40 find themselves stuck on. Because when life feels chaotic, it's incredibly hard to stay consistent with healthy habits. Workouts get skipped. Self-care goes out the window. Food becomes comfort. And then we end up blaming ourselves. I'll share why trying harder isn't the answer, how overwhelm impacts your health, and what helped me finally step off the wheel and feel calmer, healthier, and more in control. If you've been feeling stressed, exhausted, and like you've lost yourself a little along the way, this episode is for you. Click play and let's dive in.

Joanna Stern was the Wall Street Journal technology journalist for 12 years. She's an Emmy award winner for her documentary E-Ternal, and recently started her own company New Things, with added advice from ChatGPT! Over the years at WSJ, I relied on Joanna's reviews of technology for many purchases (and things I avoided) reflecting her keen and brutal assessments. I also had fun working with her on some of her video assessments of health technologies. Her book I AM NOT A ROBOT is both hilarious and highly informative. It is a terrific primer for those who are not fully grounded in AI getting into the history of AI and right up to date with generative AI's progress. To get a sense for why AI thought she was the next Tina Fey, check out the back cover! No surprise she got me laughing hard throughout the conversation, no less while reading the book. Here is a short YouTube video she posted on her All In AI year of 2025, referred to during the podcast. Much of her testing of >100 AI products related to medicine and health care, which is what we especially got into during our conversation. She has 3 major rules in her assessment of AI: (1) Ruthless testing; (2) Benchmark vs human; and (3) Costs, which include “compute cost” that we discussed. Here are some of the things we covered:* AI of her blood work* AI of mammogram and breast ultrasound, and overall experience as a person with increased risk of breast cancer* AI at the dentist (and ”Dentist Deep Clean”)* Assessment of Dr. GPT* Bill Gates on health AI* Her AI Trainer (Chris)* Waymo vs Uber* Her AI Therapist (Ash)* Nothing Bot Sex (her 2 digital lovers)* Impact on her children (including 6 F*****g Hamsters, the robodog Sirius)A big thanks to Ground Truths subscribers from every US state and 212 countries. It presents five mindset shifts: prioritize assets over income by converting active earnings into passive holdings like real estate, stocks, or digital businesses; choose long-term compounding and delayed gratification over short-term relief; practice capital allocation over consumption by treating money as “soldiers” to build a diversified portfolio; take calculated risk instead of relying on job security and seek asymmetric upside; and pursue exponential growth through scalable systems, products, or investments rather than linear hourly work. A sponsor segment promotes “Cost Segregation Guys” for accelerating real estate depreciation write-offs via a free consultation, and the video ends by requesting comments, likes, and a possible part two at 25 likes.00:00 Escape the Hamster Wheel01:06 Shift 1 Assets Over Income01:56 Shift 2 Long Term Compounding02:34 Sponsor Cost Segregation03:38 Shift 3 Allocate Capital04:24 Shift 4 Calculated Risk05:04 Shift 5 Exponential Growth05:44 Wrap Up and Part Two
The game has changed. In 1984, home prices were 3.3x the average wage. Today? 10x plus. And yet most of us are still playing by the old rules; selling our time, being the engine, wondering why we “can't get ahead.” In this episode, WE break down one of the most important frameworks we teach inside Women to Wealth: Income Producing Assets . What they are, how to choose them, and how to stop being your only one. We walk through the Cash Flow Quadrant (Robert Kiyosaki) and why 95% of the wealth sits on the right-hand side — in the hands of business owners and investors — while 95% of people are stuck on the left, trading time for money with a hard ceiling. Jen shares the story of her childhood cows, the first income producing asset she ever owned and why watching them eat grass and have babies was more powerful than chipping peanuts for 50 cents an hour. It's a simple story that explains everything. We also talk through the 5 Resource Buckets — time, money, skills, network, and energy and why auditing where yours are leaking is the first step to building real leverage. Because you can't build what you can't see, and you can't grow what you're already burning. If this episode resonated, share it with the woman in your world who needs to hear it.

"There were three or four years straight where we were like, if it doesn't go the way we need it to go, we'll close it down at the end of the year -- and then year end comes and we're just like, close enough to keep going." Ethan Haber was a college sophomore with a studio art degree, a hamster named Mooksy, and a problem: the hamster ball hadn't been improved since the 1970s. So he invented a better one. Then came COVID, molds stuck at the Port of Long Beach, a packaging supplier who switched materials without telling him, four years of unprofitability, and social media backlash from people who don't even own hamsters. 2026 is his first profitable year. We talked about how he got to 750 retail locations, why he quit Meta ads and tripled Amazon sales, and the cold LinkedIn DM that landed him the founder of PetSmart as a mentor. Half a million dollars in hamster balls. What if you spotted a gap in a market that hadn't changed in 50 years and turned it into a fast-growing product business while still in college? That's exactly what Ethan Haber did with Happy Habitats, a small pet products company he started as a sophomore at Wake Forest University. While watching his hamster Mooksy roll around in a standard hamster ball on campus, Ethan looked over and saw someone walking a dog. The thought hit him: why can't I walk my hamster? That simple question launched a product line now heading into 1,500 stores nationwide through a major big-box retail deal. Ethan's story covers everything from cold-emailing a design firm and navigating COVID shipping delays, to cracking Amazon and landing a mentorship with the founder of PetSmart — all from a niche that most people overlook.
