In this all-exclusive interview, Tate sits down with Chase Walsh, the creative force behind Worry Club, to dive deep into the band's evolving sound, creative journey, and latest releases—including the introspective single “Anything Else” and the newly dropped “Little Fucker.” Chase opens up about the shift from recording music in his bedroom to working in professional studios, and how his surroundings continue to shape his sonic identity. Once dreaming of scoring films, Chase found his voice (literally) while singing in college bands—evolving from hushed vocals to full-on belting now that he's no longer confined to apartment walls. The conversation gets especially lively as Chase reminisces about performing at a packed Michigan festival alongside emo heavyweights like Free Throw, Origami Angel, Microwave, and Mom Jeans. The energy, he says, was unmatched—and the shared love for genre icons like Modern Baseball, Tigers Jaw, and Pity Sex continues to bond the band on and off stage. Since dropping their debut EP in 2020, Worry Club has been on a steady rise, gaining a loyal following with their emotionally raw lyrics and relatable themes. Chase shares how the band's music continues to be an outlet for him—blending vulnerability with catharsis—and how addressing mental health through songwriting helps connect with fans on a deeper level.
Hello, dear listener. I hope you've been well since I last dropped in to see you. You've probably noticed that I've been quiet for a minute. In short, life has been life-ing, and I've been being human. Many years ago I told myself (and anyone else who'd listen, haha) a couple of things: first, that I'd give music to the world until the day I die. That's a promise I know I'll keep. Second, that I'd always stay true and authentic as it relates to my artistry and I would never release music just for the sake of having something "new" up at the moment. The quality of my content is much more important than the quantity of it. So...I've been quiet, concentrating on being and staying grounded and nourishing my soul through some interesting times we're in. As they say though, there's always sunshine after the rain. Let it shine...Let's talk about music. Even though it's been spell since you've seen new content released by me that doesn't mean that I haven't been over here endlessly finding the most beautiful new music to present to you. Speaking of new music, wow. We are in such good times for music right now. I believe that because of the "tough times" we're living through that humanity at large is needing comfort and joy. That is showing up with a return to rich and emotionally-driven melodic music. You'll find the best of that here on this new set. Each of my sets fall differently as it relates to the ebb and flow of the energy. Sometimes the set will peak late, sometimes earlier. It's my belief that this set kind of peaks in the middle of the set (and that's OK!). There IS a cohesiveness from beginning to end, so I'm not concerned about where the "peak" is. But about that peak...wow. I have a string of songs that are epic masterpieces. As I sit and type these words I'm listening to that set within this set and I am covered in chill bumps. I hope you'll feel these same "feels" as me. Pay close attention to the set once I get to "Start A Fire" by Above & Beyond. After that I go through Coastlines "Everything All At Once", Aname "Hopeful", WhoMadeWho "Bedside", Topic "I Adore You" and Anthony Keyrouz "Young And Beautiful" -- all powerful masterpieces.Above & Beyond dropped a new album today, July 18th. I present two of the singles from the album (Start A Fire and Quicksand) because of how good they are and also so I could talk about the album. Go listen to it. Run. It's a beautiful collection of heart-driven masterpieces. Start A Fire is probably my favorite single from the album. Featuring Richard Bedford on vocals, it starts chill and low in energy and steadily builds into a hands-to-heaven emotional anthem.Enough with my words. On to the music. As always, this set was conceived and mixed with every ounce of love that I've got to give. From my heart...to your ears. LOVE.Artist/Title/Remix01. Gheist/Searching Places/Original Mix02. Join us for a candid conversation with Tony from Pudge as he dives deep into the band's journey, the evolution of their sound, and his unique philosophy on what makes a live performance truly exciting. In this interview, Tony opens up about:The Imposter Syndrome: How Pudge felt like outsiders and battled self-doubt in their early days, realizing only years later that authenticity (and longevity!) wins. The "Pudge Sound": Despite genre comparisons (Weezer, Cheap Trick), Tony shares his take on how Pudge has maintained their distinct style and the journey to embracing who they are as a band. The Mile of Music Experience: A raw look at the band's early struggles to be part of the festival, the anxiety of selection, and the often-humorous lengths they went to just to "be a part of it.The "Danger" Factor: Tony expands on the idea that great bands need a little "danger" in their music – that unpredictable edge that truly engages an audience, and why many talented artists might lack this crucial element. The State of Local Music: A critical (and often humorous) take on local music trends, from the "Americana" and "Emo" eras to the rise of "SALMs" (self-absorbed local musicians). The Future of Pudge: Get an update on their new songs, the bittersweet process of moving forward after loss, and how they're navigating playing as a four-piece with new members joining their lineup for upcoming shows like Mile of Music and Oktoberfest.Vinyl vs. CDs: Tony's thoughts on the vinyl resurgence, his surprising return to CDs, and the ever-changing landscape of music consumption.Ode to Elder Statesmen: A heartfelt appreciation for long-time local musicians like Frank Anderson, who continue to embody the spirit of rock in the Fox Cities.Don't miss this insightful and entertaining discussion with a true veteran of the Fox Cities music scene!0:00 Imposter Syndrome & Enduring as a Band02:45 The Pudge Sound: Comparisons & Identity06:20 Mile of Music: Early Struggles & Desperation13:05 Why Bands Need "Danger"19:30 Local Music Scene & The "PSALMs"25:00 Pudge's Future: New Songs & Lineup Changes30:15 Vinyl vs. CDs & Music Consumption34:00 Respect for Long-Time Musicians38:30 Best Live Shows & Joining Other Bands#Pudge #TonyFromPudge #MusicInterview #FoxCitiesMusic #MileOfMusic #LocalMusic #BandLife #MusicianInterview #AppletonWI #MusicIndustry #LiveMusic #BandDynamics #ImposterSyndrome #Vinyl #CDs #CodeZeroRadio #FoxCitiesCore

This week we celebrate bands that can re-imagine their songs with acoustic instruments and still rock! We are pulling the plug… and gasping for air… guitars! Electric artists have been playing acoustically since the beginning of recorded music. Most songwriters start the process with an acoustic instrument and capturing the sound of a song on just wire and wood has a vulnerable, human feel to it. What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. This week we discuss the FORGOTTEN. Today's guest is a British sensation whose sound defies convention and whose rise has been anything but ordinary. With a style rooted in drum and bass, alt-pop, and early 2000s nostalgia, she's redefined what it means to make bedroom pop in the digital age. Her songwriting is both diaristic and enigmatic, managing to say more in two minutes than most can in five. From viral fame to global stages, she's built a world that's entirely her own—introspective, stylish, and sonically daring. A true creative force who writes, produces, and performs with instinct and intention.
