Time: ~1 hour. Also, this show is EXPLICITY EXPLICIT! Episode 48! A special episode for you this week, I recently had an awesome chat with two friends and musicians, Chelsey and Daphne from Arizona band Fairy Bones. Not only was it great to catch up with them, I'm super excited about the re-mastered special release of their second album 0% Fun, which they are calling 0% Fun- WORSE. They are releasing it Sunday February 23rd, 6 years after the original release and show.  We chat about the band's beginnings, and then we talk about the album, the reasons why for re-releasing and also dive into a little marketing and promo chat. I'll also sprinkle some songs from the album throughout, including a tune from Daphne's band Daphne and the Glitches. AND you'll hear this show's theme song in its entirety- such a great track. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE- a sneak preview of a new remix of 8 Ball! I had a blast chatting with them, and I hope you have a blast listening!  LINKS: SIGN UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER!  Get your merch! It’s 2019: Fairy Bones knows better than to hide their clusterfuck of a life. Fairy Bones uses a new approach to being the punk rock underdogs of the social media age. This is brilliantly displayed in their off-beat content such as their fake Superbowl ad, Halloween skits, and even a complete Mockumentary. Every aspect of Fairy Bones is DIY: their music videos, marketing, independent tour booking, style, and imagery. They have spent 6 years of lighting up the stage as support for acts like Highly Suspect (direct support on 2016 Southwest tour), Starcrawler, Vundabar, The Dollyrots, The Darts, St Lucia, Marcy Playground, Fuel, Mother Mother, Rozwell Kid, and KONGOS. Their sophomore album, “0% Fun” (2018), was praised by the press and their singles, “No One Can Suffer Like I Can”, “8 Ball”, and “Killing Me” landed airtime on ALT AZ 93.3 and Sirius XM. NPR said “0% Fun”, "showcases the band's ability to write catchy ear-worms driven by the unapologetic spirit and vocals of Chelsey Louise” while Java Magazine hailed it as "unsettling, beautiful, and powerful all at once." Impose popped in to declare it “energetic and vibrant.” Fairy Bones released 0% Fun on February 23, 2018 and it’s available now wherever music is sold. They will be releasing singles leading up to their end-of 2019 album, “that’s jazz, bb”. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ All the videos, songs, images, and graphics used in the video belong to their respective owners and I or this channel does not claim any right over them. Sam Decross is back on the show? Talk about a Poor Life Choice, am I rite? Sam invited over to his pad to talk about how his music talent management business has evolved and expanded since we last talked. He shares how every artist should wake up thinking about finding a new audience, what he looks for in artists to work with, and how Chelsey Louise could take over his company herself if she wanted. Fairy Bones will release the video for the next single "Hang with the Bois" off of their recent album 0% Fun on April 20, and will be promoting it live at KWSS that day. Paper Foxes will be dropping a new video soon, and you can see them at Tempe Center for the Arts on April 27. The Sink or Swim will be opening for The Sherlocks at Last Exit Live on April 29. That's right! I'm now on from 8a-10a, then the usual 12-3pm. The new local segment is called the 9:39 on 93.9, and We Revolt requested Fairy Bones because of how influential their drummer Matt has been helping the band get started. Fairy Bones is an energetic rock outfit from Phoenix. Their no gimmick, kickass approach is fronted by Chelsey Louise. The singer joined Internal Review to chat about what it's like being a woman in the rock industry, the business side of being a local band trying to break into the national scene, and what it means to rock hard in a gimmicky 2016.
