In this inspiring sermon, Associate Pastor Jeff Stemple steps in for Senior Pastor Karl, who is currently on a mission trip in Ukraine with the Excel Leadership Network, planting churches in a war-torn region. Pastor Jeff shares a heartfelt message about the importance of guarding your heart, drawing from Proverbs 4:23, which describes the heart as the wellspring of life. Reflecting on a personal story from his childhood in 1983, when his prized BMX bike was stolen, Pastor Jeff illustrates how unguarded decisions can lead to regret and loss. He emphasizes that the heart is both valuable and prone to deception, urging listeners to protect it by renewing their minds with God's Word and discerning what influences they allow in. Through practical steps, like setting a daily reminder to reflect on “What has my heart?” and engaging in upcoming church workshops, Pastor Jeff encourages the congregation to cultivate a peaceful, discerning heart rooted in faith. This message offers timeless wisdom for making decisions that align with God's will and lead to a life of purpose.Watch all our sermons on our YouTube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Have you ever faced a decision that left you feeling uncertain about which way to go? In today's prayer and devotional, Scripture reminds us that our steps are directed by the Lord, even when we can’t fully see or understand His plan. Christine Perry shares a personal story of feeling the Lord’s nudge to step away from her current path without knowing what would come next. What began as confusion and hesitation became a testimony of God’s perfect provision. Where Christine only saw uncertainty, God had already prepared opportunities for work, housing, and growth that she never could have orchestrated on her own. The truth is, our perspective is limited—we see only what’s right in front of us. God, however, sees the full picture. Trusting Him with our decisions means surrendering our desire for total control and stepping forward in faith, even when the path feels unclear. His direction may not always align with our original plans, but His way is always better. Today's Bible Reading "A man's steps are of the Lord; How then can a man understand his own way?" – Proverbs 20:24 (NKJV) Key Takeaways God often asks us to take the first step before revealing the next. Our plans may fall through, but God’s purposes never fail. Trusting His direction requires faith beyond what we can see. God’s provision and timing are always perfect, even when the process feels uncertain. Let’s Pray Together Lord, thank You for directing my steps, even when I don’t understand the way forward. Help me to trust Your wisdom and surrender my plans to You. Thank You for being my Shepherd, Provider, and Guide. Teach me to walk in faith, believing that Your direction is always good. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Most people spend their lives trying to outrun death instead of learning from it. This episode shows you why facing mortality directly can unlock resilience, forgiveness, gratitude, and peace while upgrading longevity, human performance, and even brain optimization. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Suzanne O'Brien, RN—an end-of-life expert, hospice nurse, and founder of Doulagivers who has guided over 1,000 people through their final moments. She shares what the dying can teach the living about biohacking fear, letting go of unresolved trauma, and finding clarity before it's too late. Together they explore how hacking your mindset around death transforms not only emotional well-being but also physical health, neuroplasticity, and metabolism. You'll hear stories of people who discovered forgiveness and gratitude at the end of life, and how those practices directly influence mitochondria, sleep optimization, and longevity. They dive into the link between fear, stress chemistry, and chronic illness—and why tools like fasting, ketosis, cold therapy, supplements, nootropics, and functional medicine create the inner and outer resilience needed to face life fully. You'll Learn: • Why fear of death silently undermines health, performance, and human potential • How forgiveness and gratitude rewire neuroplasticity and boost brain optimization • What hospice nurses know about consciousness and near-death experiences that science is only starting to confirm • How unresolved trauma shows up as physical pain and disease at the end of life Dave Asprey is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, founder of Bulletproof Coffee, and the father of biohacking. With over 1,000 interviews and 1 million monthly listeners, The Human Upgrade is the top podcast for people who want to take control of their biology, extend their longevity, and optimize every system in the body and mind. Each episode features cutting-edge insights in health, performance, neuroscience, supplements, nutrition, hacking, emotional intelligence, and conscious living. Episodes are released every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (audio-only) where Dave asks the questions no one else dares, and brings you real tools to become more resilient, aware, and high performing. THE GOOD DEATH VIRTUAL BOOK TOUR: Suzanne B. O'Brien RN in Conversation with Karen Midlo When Karen unexpectedly lost her husband, she embarked on a journey that reshaped her understanding of life and death, moving from her demanding role as an executive director in senior living during the COVID-19 pandemic to finding her true calling as a certified death doula and grief educator. In this episode, Karen shares her transformative experiences, showing how moments of deep challenge fueled her passion to support seniors and their families. Together, we navigate the complex landscape of end-of-life choices, including Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) and Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED), clarifying misconceptions and highlighting their significance. With an emphasis on clear communication and family support, we examine the impact of dementia on planning, drawing attention to valuable resources like the dementia toolkit from Compassion and Choices that help ensure informed, personalized decisions. Karen also reflects on the sacredness of end-of-life experiences, illustrating how, with the right education and support, these moments can shift from fearful to profoundly meaningful. Through her personal stories and dedication to community education, the episode underscores the importance of embracing conversations about death, concluding with gratitude for Karen's invaluable contributions and anticipation for future discussions that will continue to illuminate the profound journey of life and its inevitable end.   (00:02) Finding Purpose in End of Life (10:08) Exploring End-of-Life Choices and Planning (18:18) Embracing Life and End-of-Life Education (28:42) Empowering End-of-Life Education and Support (38:16) End-of-Life Education and Support    Join the waitlist for our Fall Live Semester  Register to join us for FREE: THE GOOD DEATH BOOK CLUB EXPERIENCE: 12 MONTH FREE DEATH AND DYING COURSE  Or visit our website here!  GET THE GOOD DEATH BOOK Here     Meet our guest: Karen Midlo End-of-Life Doula & Certified Grief Educator Email: eoldoulakaren@gmail.com Cell Phone: 281-910-3313 Website: endoflifedoulasid.doulagiverslegacyleaders.com  Please Share!   Know someone who is a caregiver, healthcare worker, or spiritual seeker? Send us a topic!!!!What shapes us more – the pivotal moments in our lives or the steady accumulation of daily experiences? In this soul-stirring episode, we're joined by "Big Me," the eldest sister, who brings wisdom, humor, and unfiltered honesty to our most personal conversation yet.The conversation takes a fascinating turn when Big Me describes parenthood with a metaphor you won't hear anywhere else – comparing children to "pimps" who teach valuable life lessons while taking all your money. "They don't have money, can't drive, don't clean up, and I'm happily buying Legos. That's some pimp shit!" This perfectly captures the beautiful paradox of parenting that transformed her from living a selfish life to understanding unconditional love.We dive deep into how our upbringing shaped our identities, particularly exploring how our parents didn't actively foster close sibling relationships, creating unnecessary conflicts that followed us into adulthood. The raw truth emerges: when you're living solely for others' expectations, "you're just a shell... nobody gives a fuck how you feel, nobody sees you, nobody hears you." This powerful realization fuels our commitment to breaking generational cycles with our own children.Perhaps most revealing is our unanimous agreement that location profoundly impacts personal growth. All three siblings express feeling creatively and spiritually blocked in Las Vegas, contrasting it with the opportunities and cultural connections we experienced elsewhere. "I have yet to unlock my talents because I don't have a space to do so," Big Me confesses, explaining why our top manifestation isn't material wealth but simply "getting the fuck out" of a city that stifles our potential. This episode isn't just conversation – it's an invitation to examine how your own environments, upbringing, and life choices shape not just who you are, but who you can become. Listen now and join the family as we talk that shit about what really matters.Support the show

Hey yall! In this episode, I'm getting real about the pressures we face as women to hit certain milestones by a certain age, getting married, having kids, “settling down”, and how exhausting it is to feel like you're running against a clock. I talk about why life doesn't magically end at 25, why being single can actually be the most empowering time of your life, and why rushing into relationships or marriage just to “keep up” will never make you happy.I also get into the way social media fuels comparison, how people project their own insecurities onto you, and why it's so important to block out the noise so you can actually enjoy where you're at right now. We touch on the realities of parenthood (and why it's not something to take lightly), breaking free from outdated timelines, and fully embracing your individuality.Bottom line: stop letting society convince you you're behind, you're not!! Episode 3054: Nir Eyal and Lakshmi Mani explore how the “peak-end rule” shapes our memories, influencing the way we evaluate experiences and make future decisions. By intentionally crafting memorable high points and thoughtful endings, we can improve everything from daily routines to product design and customer satisfaction.
