After working many miracles for sick people, Jesus went away to rest with His disciples. Still, the people followed him, and Jesus had great compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. He sought to feed them but the disciples only found a young boy with five barley loaves and two fish. This was a very tiny amount of food but enough for the Lord’s purpose. Blessing the food, Jesus gave thanks to the Father, because he knew what this tiny amount could do. In the end, there was a lavish supply for up to 25,000 people, counting the women and children; everyone had more than enough food. We need to realize that there is always abundance with the Lord’s supply and that we need to trust Him with the problems in our lives.
Today, we examine a miracle performed by the Lord which is recorded in all four gospels. John seems to use it to communicate the Grace of God. Only John gives us the identity of the giver of the gift that will be used to feed 5,000 men, not including women and children. This account is not only disclosing a great miracle, but also the great grace of God to mankind.

Christianity, and how The Expanse is hard science fiction, as well as the implication of alien life forms on our Christian faith. Enjoy! Matthew 14:13–21
Gospel of John - John 6:1-14 – Feeding of 5,000 - Ian Seddon - 15 March 2020 by The Church of God in Manchester
Mark 6:30-44 where Jesus feeds the 5,000 is more than just a miracle to wow the crowds. It is instead a picture of how Jesus is a very personal good shepherd, who has compassion and aims to provide good things. As Jesus and the disciples seek to find a quiet spot to rest and regroup, the crowd followed Jesus and the disciples into a desolate place. It is there in that desolate place that Mark paints a picture of Jesus with a flock of sheep in need of a shepherd. These sheep (the crowd) had wandered into a desolate place with no provision for food, but Jesus being the good shepherd that He is provided for them. Sermon Feeding of 5,000 (8.6.17) by Neil Wehmas, Pastor
In this well-known miracle, we see that Jesus not only provides for our physical needs, but he also provides for our deepest spiritual needs.
Speaker: Jon Mestas
Jesus doesn't want us to give up our hunger or desire, he just wants our hunger to be satisfied by him.
Jesus eagerly meets not only our spiritual but our physical needs.
Jesus eagerly meets not only our spiritual but our physical needs.
The deeper miracle of the feeding of the five thousand is in Jesus's rejection of the patterns of disconnection in society that say, "let them go off and buy food for themselves," and insisting instead, "they need not go away. We will provide for them here."
