Year 12 - Jeff BrackettHello, my survivor friends – How are you doing? For those of you time-traveling in from the future it is July of 2023. Today we present to you another story from one of our fellow survivors Jeff who was kind enough to lend us some audio from one of his stories called “Year 12”"Year 12" is a post-apocalyptic novel, a sequel to the Jeff's first novel, "Half Past Midnight".  You may remember Jeff and I had a conversation about half past midnight last year, right around this time, as a matter of fact,  during our Season 2 break. Interview – Jeff Brackett and Preppers in the ApocalypseHello my survivor friends! This is another one of the interview segments that we are doing to keep you interested and engaged between seasons. In this case I'm interviewing Jeff Brackett who is an indie writer, who is one of the members of our Apocalypse support group. ...www.patreon.com/jlbrackett www.amazon.com/author/jeffbrackett https://www.facebook.com/JeffBrackett.author/ https://www.facebook.com/JLBrackett.author https://jlbrackett.com/Jeff Brackett is creating novels, novellas, and other stories. | Patreon...Jeff Brackett is the author of the "Half Past Midnight" tales, the "Amber Payne" series, "Chucklers, Volume 1...", "Pangaea: Exiles", and a variety of other stories and novellas published in magazines and anthologies. After having lived almost his entire life in and around Houston, 2014 presented several life changes that brought him, his wife, and their dogs to Claremore, Oklahoma. There they found a nice little house with a much larger yard, and are all adjusting to the new lifestyle quite well. Jeff has even begun learning to garden. His writing has won Honorable Mention in the action / adventure category of the "Golden Triangle Unpublished Writer's Contest", first place in the novel category of the "Bay Area Writers League Manuscript Competition", and was a finalist in the science fiction / fantasy / horror category of the "Houston Writer's Conference" manuscript contest. His proudest achievement, though, is in having fooled his wife into marrying him more than thirty years ago and in helping her to raise three wonderful children. He is now a grandfather five times over. And his gardening? Well, let's just say he still has a bit to learn in that area. With just hours before his arrest and crucifixion, Jesus amps up his preparation of the eleven with encouragement and direction regarding how to carry on and complete the mission in his physical absence. He understands that they will grieve Jesus’ death and the loss of their companion and Guide, but he instructs them that, as with following the pains of child-birth, there is great reward and joy. Their joy will again be complete as they understand Jesus is returning to the Father, his mission accomplished, and for them to begin asking the Father for their needs and to do so bearing the authority which comes through the name of Jesus. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus responds to our prayers and petitions out of His love for us because of our love for his Son.

Tonight we continue on with day 8 of our Hooptober marathon with 1988’s Half Past Midnight. This wasn’t the movie I originally planned on reviewing today but I’m glad I did! Half Past Midnight is a dazy, hazy, slashery, synthy, same-y, hypnotic, piece of weirdness from Dutch auteur, Wim Vink. The post E101: HALF PAST MIDNIGHT appeared first on Channel 83.

[image credit: AlexWild on deviantART] We are delighted to welcome Peter Orullian - author of the Vault of Heaven series, including "The Unremembered" and the newly released "Trial of Intentions" - back to the Big Chair at the Roundtable to lend his considerable storytelling mojo to a story concept brainstorm of stellar proportions. // Amazon.com Widgets The concept is offered up by creageous Guest Writer, Keath Marx, and is a bit unconventional in the history of the Roundtable. Keath brings us (and by "us" I mean myself, Peter, and the splendid Lauren "Scribe" Harris) a setting (scifi Earth of the distant future) and a cast of characters and invites us to frolic in his concept for a bit. And frolic we do, exploring (and subverting) some scifi tropes, unraveling some intriguing story knots, and generally knocking loose a pile of Literary Gold. Feel free to join in! (and then circle back to check out Peter's "20 Minutes with..." episode. Fraught with writerly goodness!). PROMO:  “Half Past Midnight” by Jeff Brackett Workshop Episode 80 (Guest Host: Peter Orullian) [caution: mature language - listener discretion is advised] Share your comments to this (or any) episode over at the RTP Forum! A novella, a short story collection, as well as some other short stories in various anthologies - all set in the world of The Vault of Heaven - are due out in the coming year (dude's writing like a mad fiend).
