High Water Brewing’s Campfire Stout is in the glasses this week, while Scott gives his theory on who the father is of Bob Kraft’s girlfriend’s baby, the fellas debate the pros and cons of letting soccer Hooligans get coked up in the stadium, Scott rails against his own team, and Mike pays up on a punishment. Our producer, and NBA expert, Joe tries to convince two guys who haven’t watched any NBA this season that their predictions of a Cavs/Warriors might not be true, and there’s more golf talk than there should be. The crew also touches on the US Open Flag Football tournament, and FC Cincinnati's chances at the MLS. Host Ben Rice travels to Stockton, CA to sit down with area comedian Rhoda Ramone and Barri & Steve Altimari of High Water Brewing at their unofficial taproom, Taps. Barri & Steve have been brewing under the High Water name for over 20 years and made a big splash in the beer world with their Campfire Stout, which tastes exactly like S'mores. But their experimentation goes back to day one. One of the few remaining "gypsy" breweries in California, High Water is pleased to announce that they'll be opening their own facility in Lodi later this year. So sit down and enjoy the tales of some of the friendliest people in the beer business as they tell you of their triumphs and failures. It's a joy. This episode is dedicated to the memory of beer connoisseur Mike Long, a long-time friend of the Altimaris and beer lovers everywhere. RIP, Mike. Scott’s back in studio, and the fellas have a lot to catch up on. They bust out some Sugaree Maple Pecan Pie by High Water Brewing and catch up on what pissed Scott off while he was on his honeymoon. The guys hear wedding advice from Mike Leach, another business that screwed up another promotion, athletes getting catfished, Reading Rainbow Baller Brand, two different athletes getting sued for very different reasons, and the first ever installment of Craft Brewed Sports Text Message Theater. The guys go on to talk about Jameis Winston and his latest horrible decision, the MLB Hall of Fame ballot, and a bit of NCAA Rivalry Week before running out of time. Party Hard was one of the best games we ever reviewed, in fact we did a whole video about it which you can watch HERE. TinyBuild decided to take the fun of Party Hard and turn it into a party planning simulator. Who were we to NOT try it? So we did and drank some Campfire Stout by High Water Brewing along with it. Find out what happened on the latest episode below! You can check out the game now on STEAM. The beer is available in stores that have beer from the Spring. If not, then you may need to wait till it's brewed again next year and check their website for updates. Check our Facebook page for updates, along with our Twitter and Instagram. We also have an UnTappd account where you can see what we're drinking; and you can catch us on iTunes for your listening pleasure. On this very special CV BrewFest edition of the Ale Evangelist show, the guys try brews from High Water Brewing, Amador Brewing, Lost Coast Brewing, Blaker Brewing, and many more amazing breweries live at the 4th Annual Central Valley Brewfest at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds! The event was an absolute blast, and the guys really enjoyed the brews assembled, the great people-watching, awesome Lockeford Sausages, and the chance to meet their listeners. From the guy dancing in the Giants shirt (and knocking over his girl's beer), to the gal who was there to celebrate her 36th birthday, fun was had by all. The people who ran the festival did a GREAT job, and it's definitely worth your time next year!

Leading up to Stockton Beer Week, in this episode, Matt and Rod sit down with Steve Altimari, President and Brewmaster of High Water Brewing.Beer Steve Altimari, President and Brewmaster of High Water Brewing. One of the best things about doing an interview with a brewmaster is, well, the beer. Steve brought some of his beers in to the Outback Studio for us to sample while we talked. We opened the show with Hop Riot IPA and then moved on to Hop Logic, Aphotic Imperial Porter, and then ended with High Water's best-selling brew, and a favorite of Matt's, Campfire Stout.Career ChangeSteve started as a home-brewer while working in information technology and then eventually attended America's Brewers Guild at UC Davis before working at Stockton's El Dorado Brewing Company which he eventually bought and turned into Valley Brewing Company.
