In this episode, Dan John and I continue our ongoing Sword in the Stone journey—using this classic book as a guide to examine the world we live in today. What began years ago as a shared exploration of education and mentorship has become something unexpected for me. As a scholar and educator, Dan graciously helps me navigate difficult but important distinctions, including the differences between fascism, communism, and socialism. So yes, he is fulfilling his role as an educator, but beyond that, I value his friendship and time. Dan is a busy man, and I truly appreciate his enthusiasm to discuss this book with me and the philosophical conversations that tangent from the chapter we are exploring. You don't need to have read the book in order to enjoy this episode, but I highly recommend it! We also speak about the loss of one of the great storytellers of our time, Rob Reiner. I am very grateful to call Dan my friend and love the opportunity to learn from him. I hope you enjoyed the episode. Roger's first contribution to Queen blasts out of the gate and while it might be an intentional (or even subconscious) nod to another band, it stands on its own as a blazing statement of presence. Various versions (Queen, Queen I, Sessions Take, BBC Session 4) take us through the song's creation to an impressive performance that might take the cake as the ultimate best. This may be a lot of noise to some, but it feels deeper than that (to me).

Celebrating the Holidays and Holy Days with Sunday edition By: Anthony Corona This week on Sunday edition, we leaned into the season with a conversation that was warm, meaningful, and full of joy. Throughout the year we have shared our Faith in Modern Times series with Mark, Lorna, and Gabriel, and they returned for a holiday edition focused on how we celebrate, how we keep the joy alive, and how we share and spread that joy throughout the holidays. This episode is a blend of tradition, music, and memories. We talked about faith based reflections, secular celebrations, cultural rituals, and the little moments that make this time of year feel meaningful. Some traditions are rooted in religion, some in family, some in chosen family, and some simply in comfort and connection. All of them belong here. We also took a stroll through the soundtrack and screen glow of the season, the holiday music that lives in our bones, the specials that signal it is officially that time of year, and the quiet comfort of the Yule log flickering in the background while life slows down just a bit. We celebrated what we can be thankful for, how we hold onto our faith, and how we honor faith of all traditions. Holiday music highlights from this episode included old favorites like "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" and music from A Charlie Brown Christmas, along with newer offerings like Kylie Minogue's "Hot in December." We also visited traditional staples including "O Holy Night" and "Joy to the World." Mark treated us to some wonderfully creative songs made with creation help by artificial intelligence, including a Christmas perspective from the often left out Rudolph partner, Clarice. She just loves his red nose, but we digress. Anthony shared his own cover of "Happy Xmas, War Is Over," and we closed out the episode by rocking right into "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." We would love to hear from you. What are your holiday must listens What are your holiday must eats What traditions do you return to year after year What songs or specials instantly put you in the holiday spirit Maybe it is "Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel" Maybe it is "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" Maybe it is music from A Charlie Brown Christmas Maybe it is the glow of the Yule log on television Maybe it is "Let It Snow" Maybe it is "Silver Bells" Maybe it is "Feliz Navidad" Maybe it is "Last Christmas" Maybe it is a song or tradition that only exists in your family Sunday edition Holiday Giveaway Our Sunday edition Holiday Giveaway is in full swing. What does the Bible really say about sex outside of marriage? In this powerful message, “Sex Outside Marriage,” discover God's truth about purity, holiness, and the covenant of marriage. While the world normalizes sexual sin, God's Word calls believers to a higher standard—one rooted in faith, obedience, and love. This sermon tackles a topic many avoid, yet it's one that is vital for spiritual growth and the health of families, relationships, and society as a whole.Scripture makes it clear that sex before marriage (fornication) and sex outside marriage (adultery) are sins against God and against your own body. As 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, “Flee from sexual immorality… whoever sins sexually sins against their own body.” God designed sex as a beautiful gift within marriage—a sacred act that unites husband and wife as one flesh (Genesis 2:24). When that design is perverted, it leads to brokenness, guilt, and spiritual damage. Yet through repentance and faith in Jesus, there is forgiveness and restoration. This sermon explores powerful passages like Deuteronomy 22:13–28, 1 Corinthians 7:2, and Hebrews 13:4, showing how God's plan for purity has never changed. Jesus Himself said that even looking with lust is sin (Matthew 5:28), reminding us that purity begins in the heart. You'll also learn how to guard your thoughts, avoid temptation, and strengthen your walk with Christ through obedience and the power of the Holy Spirit. If you've fallen short in this area, know this truth: Jesus has already paid the price for your sins. When you repent, He forgives and restores. You don't need to live in shame or condemnation.Turn back to God and “go and sin no more” (John 8:11). This message will challenge you to honor the marriage bed, live in sexual purity, and represent Christ faithfully in every part of your life.Referenced Verses: Deuteronomy 22:13-28Deuteronomy 22:21Deuteronomy 22:221 Corinthians 7:2Hebrews 13:41 Corinthians 6:18-Social Media Ministries, founded by Spencer Coffman, is committed to sharing the Word of God with the entire world. Most Christians sense that something has gone deeply wrong with manhood in the modern world. Nancy Pearcey joins Kevin to trace how the Industrial Revolution fractured family life, displaced men from the household, and created generations of isolation, escapism, and identity-confusion. Drawing from The Toxic War on Masculinity, she explains how Christianity once formed strong men—faithful husbands, sacrificial fathers, producers not consumers—and how it can again. If the family once broke, it can also be rebuilt. Christ renews men, restores homes, and makes possible a future stronger than the past.

The film's politics concerned the FBI, though Chaplin was extremely wealthy and privately mocked radical labels. He lived with Paulette Goddard for ten years, fabricating a marriage and sham divorce to aid her career. Chaplin self-financed all his major features, including The Great Dictator. He delayed making sound pictures because he believed the Tramp should not speak, thereby preserving his character's universality. 1918

What started as a search for truth turned into a deep dive into core energetics therapy, a practice that uses the body to unlock buried emotion. Today he's helping men and women do the same: break old patterns, feel everything they've been avoiding, and live from a place that's actually real. His viral sit-down with Andrew Tate sparked conversations around masculinity, vulnerability and what it means to be authentic in a world built on performance. In this raw and revealing exchange, Faust and David crack open the illusion of control — from the psychology of fame to the programming woven into our culture. They get into how trauma shapes creativity, why emotional release is the real superpower, and what happens when you finally stop performing. From generational healing to spiritual surrender, this episode goes straight to the heart of what it means to feel human again. In this episode:

Nicholas has practiced shamanism for over 40 years, combining it with the 'earthier' end of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as with 'medicine' teachings from Native North American peoples. He has worked with many gifted medicine people and shamans over the years, and is deeply apprenticed to his own spirit helpers, whose teachings never fail to awe and surprise him. Nick's shamanism is a fusion of traditional Himalayan and Mongolian forms, combined with teachings from his own spirits. He works especially deeply with ritual objects - such as bronze shaman's mirrors, phurba daggers and many other Mongolian and Tibetan shamanic and Buddhist ritual objects - for which he holds traditional teachings and, where required, traditional initiations. Despite being a ‘rather uneducated Buddhist,' he is an ordained Tibetan Buddhist lama, a type called a ngakpa, whose role is similar to a shaman's. Ngakpas are non-monastic, non-celebrate lamas who live in the community, specialising in ritual and magic for people within their community. Nick is the editor of Sacred Hoop Magazine - a leading international magazine about shamanism - which has been published since 1993. He is also a musician and artist. He is the author of several books including, 'Walking with the Tiger,' 'Sacred Drums of Siberia,' 'A Little Book of Revealing,' 'Voices From The Earth,' 'The Book of the Shaman,' 'The Shaman Box,' and 'The Resplendent Other'. He runs the large Facebook group 3Worlds Shamanism, has done a podcast called the 3Worlds shamanism podcast on and off since 2006 and also has a somewhat neglected YouTube channel, also called 3Worlds Shamanism. In this conversation, Lian and Nick trace the line between animism and shamanism. They explore how industrial life thinned our old ways, and what simple rites restore a living conversation with the more-than-human world. They look at what actually helps: a small daily offering that slows you down, a tree-side ceremony that teaches you to listen, and the humility of walking behind the sacred rather than in front. Listen if you have felt the pull back to nature and wondered whether it means animist, shamanist, or simply human… answering an innate way of seeing. We'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment wherever you are listening or in any of our other spaces to engage. What you'll learn from this episode: How a living-matter view changes our lives, and why calling it “animism” might clarify the pull you already feel Why simple offerings reshape your pace and attention, and how reciprocity steadies you when life gets noisy What happens when humility leads, and the subtle signs that tell you a deeper calling is knocking Resources and stuff spoken about: Visit Nick's websites: Sacred Hoop Magazine 3Worlds Podcast Buy Nick's books Join Nick on YouTube Join UNIO, the Academy of the Soul. Stepping onto Egyptian soil in 2006, Fotoula Adrimi's soul knew that this was home on Earth. Goddess Isis lifted the veil of time from her eyes, revealing an ancient world where spiritual awakening is possible and whose mysticism can be retrieved to help life now. These pages will remind you of ancient teachings aimed at rediscovering our origin as beings of light who have come to Earth to experience and awaken. Egypt is a source of fascination that keeps calling the soul back from one lifetime to the next. What is the source of power emanating from the temples, the statues of the gods and goddesses, and the strange images on the walls? What happens when we consciously enter the vortex of etheric energy placed deliberately by the ancients? We might find that we are never the same. This book takes us on a journey through time and space, through dimensions and different realities, through self-acceptance and self-love, to lead us back into our infinite spirit, where the source of magic exists.Fotoula Adrimi, BA(Hons), MSc, is the director of the ISIS School of Holistic Health, an international school of healing arts, spiritual development, and inner transformation through vibrational energy work, enlightened teachings, shamanism, and meditation. She is part of the global network of Shamanic Teachers under Sandra Ingerman. Fotoula lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland, has taught in Germany and the Netherlands, and has led spiritual pilgrimages to Egypt. Her first book, The Golden Book of Wisdom: Ancient Spirituality and Shamanism for Modern Times, is an Amazon UK bestseller.https://www.theisisschoolofholistichealth.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/earth-ancients--2790919/support.

How do you stand up to injustice without letting anger consume you? How do you fight systems of oppression without becoming the very thing you oppose? These questions feel especially urgent right now, as many of us wrestle with complex emotions about violence, justice, and what it actually means to create change. This talk explores the Book of Revelation not as a cryptic prediction about the end times, but as a practical guide for "dissident discipleship" — learning to resist empire while staying grounded in what gives life rather than death. Drawing on the image of Jesus as "the Lion who is really a slain Lamb," we'll examine what it looks like to wield power through vulnerability and maintain hope without naive optimism. Whether you're familiar with religious texts or not, you'll walk away with concrete insights about navigating resistance, processing difficult emotions, and staying human in dehumanizing times.
What happens when ancient biblical narratives collide with Wall Street ambition? Author Jean Blasberg takes us on a fascinating journey through her literary trilogy, culminating in Daughter of a Promise- a bold, contemporary reimagining of the David and Bathsheba story set in the high-stakes world of investment banking. The conversation reveals how Blasberg transforms this ancient tale of power imbalance into a relevant examination of workplace dynamics, consent, and unexpected love. Her Bathsheba (renamed Betsabe) is a young professional navigating a complex relationship with her powerful boss during the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most compelling is Blasberg's decision to give voice to a character largely silenced in biblical tradition, crafting the novel as a wisdom letter from mother to future son.We explore the challenges facing authors who incorporate biblical themes in today's publishing landscape. The industry's reluctance to embrace religious references - despite their profound influence on Western literature - creates both obstacles and opportunities for writers willing to pursue unconventional projects.Similarly, Blasberg shares her thoughtful approach to writing across cultural boundaries, working with sensitive editors while creating authentic characters outside her own experience. For writers struggling with marketplace pressures versus artistic vision, Blasberg offers liberating advice: "Write the story that's burning to come out." Her journey from traditional expectations to finding her unique voice serves as inspiration for creators navigating today's complex publishing environment.Ready to discover how timeless stories can illuminate contemporary issues?Have a comment? In this powerful and illuminating episode of Gateways to Awakening, I sit down with spiritualist, author, and clairvoyant medium Normandi Ellis to explore the profound wisdom of the ancient Egyptian mysteries. Her 14 published books include the spiritual classic, Awakening Osiris, translations from the hieroglyphs found in the Book of the Dead, as well as a book on the Ancient Tradition of Angels, Hieroglyphic Words of Power, and Imagining the World into Existence among others. She facilitates work with those wishing to explore the path of the priestess through her school devoted to Isis and Seshet. In addition to monthly classes, she offers clairvoyant circles, metaphysical classes and private consultations (phone or in person). Best known for her spiritual classic Awakening Osiris, Normandi unpacks the true meaning of the Egyptian Book of the Dead—known to the ancients as The Book of Coming Into Light—and reveals how its sacred texts offer a blueprint for turning death consciousness into life consciousness. We explore:- The origins and meaning of the Egyptian mysteries- The significance of alchemy and the roots of the word itself- The multidimensional Egyptian soul (Ba, Ka, Akh, Ren, Sahu, and more)- The spiritual power of hieroglyphs, prayer, and Heka (divine magic)- The living presence of the gods and goddesses within temples and statues- The initiatory role of sound and vibration in sacred spaces like the Great Pyramid- Isis as a symbol of the Divine Feminine and restorer of cosmic memory- The role of Thoth, natural law, and reality creation through intentionality and speechNormandi also shares deeply personal stories—from her 10-year journey translating the Book of the Dead, to spiritual pilgrimages in Egypt, to receiving recognition from Jean Houston and collaborating with Nikki Scully. Whether you're a seasoned seeker or newly curious about Egypt's esoteric legacy, this episode invites you to remember your place in the divine story—and to reconnect with the sacredness of all life.Learn more about Normandi Ellis and her offerings at www.normandiellis.comIf this conversation speaks to you, please share it and tag us @Gateways_To_Awakening.
