What could be worth giving up everything you own? In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explores Jesus' parable of the merchant who finds one pearl of great value and sells everything to buy it (Matthew 13:45–46). To grasp the weight of this illustration, Dr. Youssef highlights why pearls were considered the most precious commodity in Jesus' day: they were rare, dangerous to obtain, and priceless to possess. Then comes the deeper meaning: the pearl of great worth is the Lord Jesus Christ—the only Savior who suffered, bled, and died on the cross, then rose again so forgiveness and eternal life could be offered to all who believe. No achievement, possession, or security compares to Him. In Christ, you find what the world can never provide: peace of mind, true identity, lasting security, and rest for your soul. This devotional calls you to examine what you're valuing most—and to respond to Jesus not with partial devotion, but wholehearted surrender. Prayer: Father, thank You for Jesus Christ, the pearl of great price. May my life reflect Christ to this world. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. If today's devotional stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don't have to walk through it alone.
Join us as Pastor Mike continues our series, Strength In Weakness: A Study of 2 Corinthians, with a sermon entitled "Jesus Is Worth It" speaking from 2 Corinthians 6:1-13.
Jeremy and Sarah are bible smugglers and church planters in the Muslim world. In June Jeremy took bibles into Northern Afghanistan (where no Americans have been since the Taliban took control) and Mecca, Saudi Arabia (where no Muslims are allowed). Before the trip three different people who didn’t know each other warned Jeremy that he would be facing life-threatening danger. They prayed, talked to trusted mentors and God gave peace that Jeremy should risk his life for the sake of the gospel. As Jeremy and Sarah parted he said, “Jesus Is Worth It.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
How often do we hesitate to follow Jesus? What would it look like to respond immediately to Jesus, instead of telling Him "I'll get to that in a little bit?" This week, Zach preaches about how Jesus is always worth it, and how following Him means responding "at once." A relationship with Jesus is wonderful, but this world is also full of people that need to know the Gospel. We are called to say "yes" to Jesus and "fish for people." (10/31/21)
Our talk this week is presented by guest speakers Michael & Brooke. They begin by asking the question, "Is Jesus worth it?" And they conclude with a resounding, Yes! "Jesus Is Worth It!"

We begin a new series this Fall entitled, "Questions from Jesus: Invitations to Grow." Jesus' first recorded words was a question (only 12 years old in Luke 2:50!). In the gospels he asks almost 300 questions! Why? Questions stretch us and force us to deal with issues we often try to avoid. The claim of the semester is that Jesus asks us questions as invitations for us to grow - both in self-awareness of who we are and in our knowledge of God and who He is. Each week we look at a different interaction where Jesus asks someone a question. I invite you to take Jesus' questions seriously - he's asking you because he loves you and wants you to grow! This week we look at the moment when Jesus tells his disciples he's going to Jerusalem to die. Peter rebukes him. Jesus calls him Satan. And we are told that following Jesus is costly, but worth it, because Jesus is better. Come learn about the costly worth of following Jesus.TEXT: Mark 8:27:37
Last year, in our series titled "Jesus Is Worth It", we discussed the cost, worth, and value associated with following Christ, but there is another side to that coin. Through Adam's disobedience in the garden, we learn that sin carries a high price.

Who is Christ and why is He so controversial? The book of Hebrews defends Christ as the expression of God’s person who completed the enterprise of God’s purpose while retaining the eminence of God’s position. Jesus is certainly worthy of all your praise. The post Jesus Is Worth It appeared first on Anthony Baptist Church.
