Here's what I want you to think about today: Whatever you are going to do for God, you need to do it now. What is it that God has put on your heart to do? What burden are you carrying? What calling do you have on your life? Have you been saying, “Someday I want to serve God in a particular way? Someday I want to do this for God.” Hear this word. Someday is today. Someday is now.Main Points:1. We cannot put off until tomorrow what God is calling us to do today. The days, weeks, months, and years are going by, and they are going by quickly. We cannot go back and change the past, but we can do something about today.2. So, let's get to it. Let's get started. Not tomorrow, but today. What has God put on your heart to do? What passion to serve the Lord do you carry? Let's get started. What can you do today? What small step can you take right now? 3. I don't know what God is speaking to your heart, but I do know the Holy Spirit is always calling us to go, to serve, and to step out into the plan of God. Fear and busyness cause us to delay and to wait. They lead us to put off until tomorrow the things God has put on our hearts.Today's Scripture Verses:Psalm 49:7 - “No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them.”Job 14:5 - “A person's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.”Ephesians 5:16 - “Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.”Proverbs 27:1 - “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”James 4:13-15 - “Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group
#DadsOfTikTok #Fatherhood #DadLife #ChristianDad #BiblicalFatherhood #RaisingKids #FamilyLeadership #FaithBasedParenting #MensHealing #MenNeedMentors #BeTheMan #PersonalGrowth #MenOfFaith #SpiritualGrowth #HealingForMen #MentorshipMattersHey friends, Joe Barlow here. Welcome back to the Dads & Fathers Podcast — this is day number nine.If you've been tracking with me, you already know this isn't just a casual conversation about parenting tips. This is about identity. It's about calling. It's about becoming the man God created you to be.Today we're asking a bold question:Why should you become a dad?Not just biologically. Not just culturally. But spiritually. Purposefully. Intentionally. There is something inside of you that has not yet been tested. There is greatness in you that has not yet been revealed. And fatherhood has a way of drawing that greatness out.God said about Abraham, “I know him.”He chose Abraham not just because he would have children — but because he would lead them. Because he would command his household. Because he would multiply righteousness in the earth. That's not just Abraham's story. That's an invitation. What kind of man are you becoming? What is in you that deserves to be multiplied? If God were looking across a line of men, would He say, “I want more like him”?Today we're talking about leadership with love. Strength with softness. Authority without harshness. And the holy responsibility of multiplying what God has placed inside you. This one may challenge you.But if you're willing, it could change you.Let's get into it.Partner:This podcast is paid for by my partners. Remember God loves you so much he sent his Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for your sins. You are of great value. Jesus loves you and He is just a prayer away!
Dads & Fathers – Day 3: You Need to Be FatheredMost men were never fully fathered. And when you try to become a good dad without having been fathered well yourself… it can hurt. It hurts you. It hurts your marriage. It hurts your kids.In today's episode of Dads & Fathers, Joe Barlow opens with a heartfelt prayer and then dives into a powerful truth: in order to become a great father, you must continue to be fathered.Joe shares personal stories of the men who shaped his life — his father, his brother Vince (whom he called every day for three years in college), his pastors, and mentors like Bill Winston — and how each one stepped in at the right season to provide wisdom, correction, love, and spiritual growth. You'll hear about:Why no earthly father is perfect — and why that's not the end of your storyThe ongoing process of spiritual fatheringThe biblical model of discipleship (2 Timothy 2:2)The power of positioning someone in your heart as a mentorHow the Holy Spirit becomes your ultimate lifelong Father and TeacherWhy blaming your dad keeps you stuck — and how finding your “next father” moves you forwardJoe challenges you to stop focusing on what you didn't receive and instead ask:Who is the next voice I need to listen to?This episode is for dads who want to grow, men who feel under-equipped, and anyone hungry to become the fullness of who God created them to be.If you want to father well, you must first be fathered well.Come back tomorrow — there's more.Partner:Please partner with us here and help us keep the ministry producing more and more content that changes lives.Coaching:This podcast might inspire you to spend more time one on one with Joe. Dads & Fathers – Day 2: Destiny Is Calling YouWhen Joe Barlow was just 14 years old, something unexpected stirred inside him — a deep, unmistakable calling to be a father. Not just someday… but as part of his identity. In this powerful second episode of Dads & Fathers, Joe unpacks what it means to feel destiny calling your name — and how God places eternity in the heart of a man long before he understands it.What if fatherhood isn't just a role… but a calling?Joe shares personal stories about prophetic words spoken over his life (“father of many”), the joy of providing for his family, and the deep satisfaction that comes from becoming who God created you to be. He challenges fathers to rise up — to move from being takers to becoming givers of life, wisdom, encouragement, and love. You'll discover:• Why destiny often calls long before it manifests• What it truly means to live as a giver• How fatherhood reflects the heart of God• Why becoming the father you're called to be leads to your deepest fulfillment• The power of speaking identity and affirmation over your childrenJoe reminds us that you began your fatherhood journey by giving seed — and you continue it by sowing words, wisdom, and love into the lives of those entrusted to you. This episode is both a wake-up call and an encouragement: You are not finished growing. The closer you move toward God's expectation for your life, the more fully yourself you become. If you're a dad — or called to father others — this message will stir your heart.Come back tomorrow. Let's grow together.Partner:Please partner with us here and help us keep the ministry producing more and more content that changes lives.Coaching:This podcast might inspire you to spend more time one on one with Joe. At some point in recovery, many of us start asking a question we never thought we'd ask before: Is this God calling me… or am I just out of my mind? When the noise quiets down and the chaos settles, something new shows up — intuition, conviction, purpose, direction. And that can feel unsettling when you spent years not trusting your own thoughts. This isn't about hearing voices or chasing signs everywhere. It's about learning the difference between ego, fear, impulse, and spiritual guidance. Recovery doesn't just sober us up — it wakes us up. And waking up can feel uncomfortable before it feels clear. In today's Daily Trudge, we talk about: Why spiritual awareness can feel confusing at first The difference between God's guidance and self-will How fear disguises itself as “logic” Why God's calling often feels uncomfortable, not flashy How recovery sharpens discernment over time Why humility keeps us grounded How to pause, pray, and test direction instead of reacting God's voice is usually calm, steady, and persistent — not rushed, loud, or ego-driven. And no, you're probably not nuts. You're just learning to listen differently.
Today's Gospel reminds us that “the harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few.” And Father Jonathan invites us to look at this passage in a very personal way: Who in your life has the gift of leadership—and have you told them? We often pray for more priests, more religious, and more leaders in the Church… but many potential laborers simply never receive an invitation. In a noisy world, God often uses our voice to call someone forward. Think about your life: • A grandchild • A godchild • A young person at Mass • A teen who serves or attends adoration • A young adult who volunteers quietly • A coworker with integrity and compassion What would it mean if you looked a young person in the eye and said, “I see something in you — God can use your gifts”? Today's reflection challenges us: If we believe the Gospel is worth following… If we believe these daily reflections matter… Then it's also worth investing in future leaders—future shepherds—by encouraging them now. As we close out the first week of Advent, let's ask God for the courage to invite, affirm, and call forth the leaders the Church desperately needs. And don't forget—light two candles on your Advent wreath this evening as we prepare for the Second Sunday of Advent. Peace on Earth, and God bless you. Recently, I witnessed the most beautiful thing at one of our festivals. A couple on holiday wandered into the square where our festival was taking place. And they were drawn in as my husband Andrew shared the truth about Jesus. He invited anyone interested to pray along with him. They prayed, they gave their lives to Jesus Christ right there in the square. As my friend Melissa prayed with them, they told her that they knew God had been calling them for many days. They had been searching and looking for hope in their lives. Things like this don't happen by accident; God orchestrates our circumstances. He calls us. He speaks to us. When Jesus called His first followers, He simply said: “Come, follow me.” Will you say, “yes” to His call? Always remember, there is hope with God. Hustle Culture vs. Diligence with GodIn today's world, we are constantly bombarded with messages about the importance of hustle. We are told that we need to work harder, longer, and faster in order to be successful. This can lead to a culture of burnout and exhaustion, as we try to keep up with the demands of our jobs, our families, and our social lives. However, there is another way to live: a life of diligence with God. This means working hard, but not at the expense of our health, our relationships, or our faith. It means being intentional about our work and using our time wisely. It means trusting in God's plan for our lives and knowing that He will provide for us.Here are some of the benefits of living a life of diligence with God: Reduced stress: When we trust in God, we don't have to worry about everything. We can rest assured that He is in control. Increased focus: When we are not constantly stressed about work, we are able to focus more on the task at hand. Improved relationships: When we are not always working, we have more time to spend with our loved ones. Greater peace of mind: Knowing that God is with us gives us a sense of peace and security.Come along for the journey!
One way to stand for truth is to share it. What "ditches" should Christians watch out for when it comes to sharing the gospel with unreached people groups? And what should you do if you think God might be calling you to missions? All that and more in this month's conversation with Mark Corbett, who is preparing for missions in Papua New Guinea.

Open Forum: Participants explored various aspects of spiritual growth, emphasizing the importance of studying different parts of the Bible, trusting God's timing, and embracing rest. Amos and Derrick highlighted how religious traditions can hinder true responsibility and how understanding Jesus' sacrifice deepens faith. Bose and Monique shared personal experiences with prayer, fasting, and learning to trust God, especially when facing burnout or fear of falling short. The group discussed balancing faith and work, recognizing the value of supernatural rest, and prioritizing God's guidance over constant striving. The forum concluded with a prayer and an announcement about the upcoming Ministry Accelerator event in Atlanta on June 21st. Do you have a dream? Do you have a God-given dream? Is there something God has put into your heart to do, accomplish, and fulfill? Does the dream stay with you and never seem to leave? Is there something God is calling you to do? Main Points:1. Maybe you need a little encouragement. What God has called you to do, you need to do it. Do it now. Don't put it off. Don't say someday. Someday may not come, but you do have today. What action step can you take today?2. We take time for granted. We live as if our time is unlimited, but we know deep down inside that is not true. We only have a limited amount of time and we don't know how much. 3. We always have plenty of time to do everything we need to do. This means that all of my time belongs to God, and therefore how I spend my days is a sacred issue. Someday I will answer for what I did today.Today's Scripture Verses:Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 - "There is a time for everything, And a season for every activity under heaven: A time to be born and a time to die, A time to plant and a time to uproot, A time to kill and a time to heal, A time to tear down and a time to build, A time to weep and a time to laugh, A time to mourn and a time to dance."Proverbs 27:1 - “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”James 4:13-15 - “ Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it's here a little while, then it's gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”Ecclesiastes 9:10 – “Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

Happy Solemnity of the Annunciation! Today, we celebrate the moment the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, and she said “yes” to bringing Jesus into the world. Mary is the new Ark of the Covenant—carrying within her the High Priest, the Bread of Life, and the fulfillment of the Law. But this feast isn't just about Mary's role—it's about ours too. When we receive Jesus in the Eucharist, we are called to bring Him into the world. Where is God inviting you to carry His presence, even in silence? Join us as we reflect on the beauty of the Annunciation, the significance of the Ark of the Covenant, and our own mission to bring Christ into the world. Watch now and be inspired! #Annunciation #CatholicFaith #Mary #Jesus #Eucharist #BringChristToTheWorld

Reducing distractions is important if you have a God calling. The enemy wants nothing more than for you to waste your days distracted from what God is leading you to do. Today's episode is all about reducing distractions and staying diligent to move forward in what God has lead you to do.
Are there two kinds of sanctification or just one? What are premillennialism and postmillennialism? What do you think of the Calvinist “tulip”? How do you know when God is calling you to ministry?
Are you ready to stop playing it safe and start living radically for Jesus? In this episode, I sit down with Landon Schott, lead pastor of Mercy Culture in Fort Worth, to unpack what it means to be a Spirit-led leader in a chaotic world. We dive into how the Holy Spirit empowers believers to step boldly into their God-given assignments, influence the seven mountains of culture, and bring revival outside the four walls of the church. If you're feeling called to make a bigger impact, this is your wake-up call!
We're in an extremely momentous and highly unstable time where civilization seems to be on the brink of a massive freefall. To make sense of it, we must accept Jesus' view of reality over all other voices. John, Blaine, and Allen begin this timely series by naming three major trends that are creating the perfect storm. Maturity is no longer an option if we want to partner with God in the larger story that he is telling.Show Notes: Follow Blaine's writings at https://blaineeldredge.substack.com._______________________________________________There is more.Got a question you want answered on the podcast?
