Áine chats with local ACT musician and songwriter Matt Dent about the making of his new album ‘Stories'. Matt is a well-seasoned regional singer/songwriter performing throughout Canberra and regional NSW, from the Southern Highlands to Nowra and Eden on the south coast. Matt, like many performers, has lost so much work due to Covid that his only option to survive, feed his family and to keep making music was to go online. As well has having to reshuffle the way he works Matt has been busy writing an album called ‘Stories'. The album contains 13 brilliantly-crafted, Aussie songs, all of them produced to absolute perfection and recorded by legendary producer David Pendragon who retired to Canberra from Melbourne. Supporting musicians include Jonathon Jones (Drummer for Eric Bogal); Rose Bygrave (Goanna); Bob Magnusson (top New York sax player who toured with Frank Zappa and Whitney Houston); Lindsay Martin (renowned Aussie folk performer) and many more. To hear Matt's music and more about his story, listen to our podcasts available through AnchorFM, Spotify, BreakerFM, Pocket Casts, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast, Overcast and Radio Public. Matt Dent continues our new preaching series, Death, Resurrection, Revival. What does John teach us about revival? We are unashamedly continuing to push into revival at All Nations Church, to that end John’s gospel starting from chapter 13 was intentionally chosen as it talks about Jesus leaving to return to the Father, how it is good for Him to leave as He will send a helper - The Holy Spirit. These passages are rich with the guidance and qualities that we need to allow the Spirit to lead us, change us and see His Kingdom come here on earth. Matt Dent continues our Christmas mini-series. As a church, we are looking to increasingly welcome the Holy Spirit among us. This Christmas we are going to take some time to look at the role of the Holy Spirit in the Christmas story. We will look at three stories from the Gospel of Luke and see how people welcomed the Holy Spirit, as well as being empowered and inspired by Him. This can both challenge and encourage us to be expectant for the Holy Spirit to be with us and move among us, even during this festive season! Matt Dent continues our series. Revival should be more than a season. It should be embedded in our culture and overflow in a lifestyle! Revival isn’t just something that happens to us - it’s a promise to be embraced and a power by which we live. At the heart of revival is God Himself who is the Creator, Sustainer and Completer of all things. Revival brings us into a fresh and authentic revelation of Almighty God and His great purposes on the earth. We encounter His glory and His power which transforms everything around us. This autumn we want to look from God’s Word at how living in a revival culture shapes all we do as followers of Jesus. We will begin by looking at how the Holy Spirit revives our relationship with God Himself. We will then look at many key ways that the Holy Spirit empowers us to live a lifestyle that glorifies the Lord and releases His ways on the earth. Matt Dent continues our series Characteristics Of A Godly Family. This term we’re expanding our series on One New Family to Characteristics Of A Godly Family. We’re taking a look at a variety of topics such as forgiveness, being accepted, being humble, caring and kind. We love gifted people and we are blessed by having so many gifted people across our church. But above gifting our desire is to be a Godly people who reflect Jesus to those around us. This series aims to look at the characteristics of a Godly family through bible characters. God loves us just the way we are but He does not want us to stay that way, He is the potter moulding and shaping us so that our characters become more and more like Jesus. The great news is that even in our brokenness, even in our sin God uses us for His plans and His purposes.
