The Climate Trap - the tourists and locals roaring up the valley in their massive SUVs. Not everyone in an SUV, but such a vehicle sure is impressive in the mountains. As soon as they parked, it started raining. And how it poured. Cut off from the world again? For the fourth time in half a year? Not so bad, in an emergency, there are taxi flights. The butler will pick up the SUV later. People stranded without being on the beach? Now they're stuck here in the pearl of the Alps, Saas-Fee. Like a trap that snapped shut behind them. I call it the climate trap! Now they are locked in this glacier village, and what could be more beautiful? Not for everyone, though? The media. Fear-mongering. The day after the latest storm, the sun smiled down at us! As if nothing had happened. Na na na na. Avalanches were triggered so that ski teams could resume their training. The world keeps turning, always cheerful. !!! Lafnetscha Ja laffnäää nu nid, laffnä nid z jung. Frage also laffu = sauffen - süffuuu. Decades ago, I took part in a study designed to help teams and their leaders understand each other better and work together more effectively. At its conclusion, each participant received a report describing their personality type and the work environment they would most likely thrive in. And I still vividly recall my reaction to a couple of sentences in the summary I was given. They read, “Randy is a

What was "the joy set before" Jesus? In Hebrews 12 we get this instruction: "...looking only at Jesus, the Originator and Completer of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross...." What joy is that? We could try to imagine what it would take to incentivize us to go through utter humiliation, rejection, pain, abandonment and death. Or would anything be worth that? Fortunately, we can get the answer from Scripture. My first encounter with the Donatsch wines was in April 2022 in a masterclass, and I was deeply touched. Martin is a truly honest guy who makes mesmerising Pinots, Chardonnays and Completer in Mali s, Graubünden, Switzerland. He not only wants his own wines to be enjoyed by people who can appreciate great wine made in his exceptional region, but he is also eager to make Swiss wines more known and recognised all around the world. Martin talked about the history of their 125 years old winery, his beautiful terroir, why almost no Swiss wines leave the country and his philosophy behind the (self-made) labels. he key to layering in a way that is stylish as well as practical is to think about balance. Long with short, flowy with fitted, textured with smooth. Creating balanced elements keeps outfits flattering as well as visually interesting. Here, how to build a layered look from the ground up. Start With a Base Layer: Most layered looks include a couple of simple, streamlined pieces that form the foundation for the whole look, and gives the eye a place to rest. Whether these include the classic white button-down, a long (or short) sleeve layering tee, or a simple pair of neutral pants, these pieces serve as the springboard for a look that is practical and chic. Add A Completer: After the base layer is complete, the next piece to consider is the completer piece. Completer pieces can be casual, like denim jackets or cozy cardigans, or a bit more trendy, like a slouchy blazer or moto jacket. Add A Middle Layer: Between the base and the completer is where the true magic of layering happens, and much of this will depend on practical considerations as well as style preferences. A currently trendy and versatile middle layer is a sweater vest, which layers well over a base layer and under a jacket. But a middle layer can be a more fitted cardigan, a sweater, a button-down shirt or flannel, or a silk blouse. If your base layer was fitted, your middle layer can have a little more volume. That's five questions of coffee. No coffee today, I'm already caffeine out and the you don't want too much, or whatever I've already had for too much. So this is just a nice water with a piece of lime in it to keep me hydrated. But I'm here today with Veronica Kira, and I'm really looking forward to this conversation. Veronica helps real with real small, small business entrepreneurs to expand their empire. She talks about empire building, oh, it's gonna be a great conversation because I think empire building is a hugely interesting concept. So, Veronica, I'm really looking forward to this conversation. Welcome to It's not rocket science, five questions over coffee.Veronica Kirin 01:06Hi, Stuart. Thank you. And I actually, I'm drinking tea, not coffee as well. Well, over.Stuart Webb 01:13Yeah, years. So let's start with the first question. So can you describe those, those small business entrepreneurs who really want to build their empire? In a few sentences?Veronica Kirin 01:25Yeah, definitely. So I, you're going to be somebody who is ready to build your empire. If you've been in business for over two years, and you're starting to feel like you're hitting a ceiling. You don't know what that ceiling is. But for some reason, you can't seem to get to the next big leap, you have a bigger vision than what is happening right now. And it feels like you're constantly spinning your wheels. It's a hamster wheel that you're on, you can't get off of it. And it's actually really exhausting. And you're starting to wonder what the heck you were thinking in the first place?Stuart Webb 01:52Yeah, well, I think we've all had that feeling at one stage in our life. And we so So what sort of things do you think that most of those people have done to try and help themselves to overcome those sort of challenges before before they reach out for help?Veronica Kirin 02:07Yeah, so I have met a lot of entrepreneurs who dive into the books, take the courses, might even go on a retreat or two, they might hire a marketing director or a social media person to try to get the word out more because they think it just, it's about getting more customers and clients that if I can just get more clients and customers in, then everything will be okay, because it's actually a revenue problem. And in fact, it's not a revenue problem. The problem goes much deeper, which we'll talk about I think next.Stuart Webb 02:40Yeah, that's interesting. Because, because a lot of the time a lot of the a lot of problems. It isn't about the sort of the, the way in which you're presenting yourself, it's understanding your customer or something like that. It's getting into those sorts of things, isn't it?Veronica Kirin 02:54Yeah, well, it's about the scaling toolkit. So if you imagine that you have a toolbox of your business knowledge, you might be stellar at whatever it is that you do, like you're a photographer, you're an artist, you're really, really good at messaging and content development. That doesn't necessarily mean that you have a really big business toolbox. And to add to that, if you don't have scaling tools in your business toolbox, then that's where the hamster wheel starts to release. SoStuart Webb 03:23this is where we this is where we come to your valuable free action, I guess, which I'm going to display on a ticker beneath you now, which is, which is this is where we get interesting information from you the the the toolbox are a sight into that toolbox. Tell us about that. Yeah,Veronica Kirin 03:40yeah. So I am a skilling coach for small business owners, I steal the startup scaling tools and give them to small business owners because I was that small business owner, who was languishing in burnout, and had no idea that scaling was even allowed for small businesses, because they make it sound like it's only for Fortune 500 companies, which is just wild to me. And so I in the roadmap that you described that we see scrolling below, I've taken the three pillars of business scaling the three simple things that small business owners need to do in order to scale and can start implementing now. And I've put them into a guide that will identify where you are on the roadmap and what you need to do next in order to start to relieve that hamster wheel pain.Stuart Webb 04:31And, you know, you're talking about small business owners who don't have access to that. What are the sort of what are the sort of tools that you're talking about?Veronica Kirin 04:40Yeah, so I'm, I'm talking about things like creating systems for every actionable step within your company. So anything that's repeating in your company should be systemized and laid out a lot of entrepreneurs and small business owners that I meet are trying to hold everything in their heads. They haven't externalised their tasking, they haven't externally realise their systems or processes. And so when it comes time to take an action in the business, there's a lot of thinking that's going on and is exhausting them instead of leaving them in the creative space of the visionary CEO that they're trying to become. So one of the major tools I instal is to create systems, and then I help my clients. I've done a lot of the systems already, because I've had several businesses. So I'll show you the shortcuts into creating the system so that you can get into action and growth rather than into the just creating the things,Stuart Webb 05:32right, if you're talking my language, it's a lot of the stuff that I do, I sort of I spent a lot of my time scaling businesses, I took one business from 60 to 600 people. And the last thing you want to do is have absolutely no systems in place for 600 people because you would just never get anything done. You've got to have system to get to this.Veronica Kirin 05:51Even the hiring the hiring process. Like if you don't have a system and process for that you're hiring blind, and people don't realise that you need more than just a list of skills in order to hire someone.Stuart Webb 06:01Brilliant, brilliant. So what's the book or concept or talk that's really inspired you and that you think would be great value to the audience listening at the moment, and we haveVeronica Kirin 06:13what's up everybody? Of course, you though, because you do such a good job with the show. So actually, I give one book to every single client when we start working together. And it's called the success principles. by Jack Canfield. Yes, he's the guy who wrote Chicken Soup for the Soul that threw me for a loop when people were recommending it to me way back in the day. But it is, I kind of call it my my Bible, like, it's one of those books you can crack open, it's actually right here behind me. You can just pull it open, flip to a page and have incredible impact in your life that day. And even though I've read it, and I've read it several times, it's still something that I pull open regularly. It truly, truly, truly changed my life. It's a whole story. I don't think we have time for it. But I can I can fundamentally say my life would not be what it is today without that book.Stuart Webb 07:10Oh, brilliant. I love hearing about books that have done that to people. I know that that changed my life. And it's actually by the founder of McDonald's, which actually is another great book along exactly the same lines. It's a really good book.Veronica Kirin 07:21Is that the Golden Arches book that you can about? Yeah, I have that on my e reader. And I haven't read it yet. Okay,Stuart Webb 07:26you gotta read that one. That's another one. That's your fundamentally, it's really inspiring for small people that are thinking to themselves, can I make this business bigger? And the answer is yes, you can. But you've just got to learn to let go of things delegate, which is another one of the things that I think people need to learn more of delegation is a key skill that so many people just, you know, they think it's going to be easier to sort of keep doing it myself, because it's difficult to learn how to delegate and I teach people just, it's four steps to delegate something. And once you've got those four steps, you can actually expand your environment here, expand the universe, because you can do so you know, this is a task I need you to do. Well, I can go and do something which I'm, you're better at than me. I can go and do something that I'm good at. You could do what you're good at, let's do the things together.Veronica Kirin 08:08Yeah. And a lot of business owners, I noticed try to hire, like many me's, they keep trying to find someone who can do what I do, but just like do it within this other area. And that's not what you want to be doing. You want to be hiring specialties in fragment yourself. So this area of the business gets better and this area of the business gets better and it just expands and expands. Oh, yes.Stuart Webb 08:32Yes. key skill for me actually dropped down. We spoke about this for many hours, I suspect is hire those people that are actually better at it than you are. Because you're creative. The last thing you want is another creative person. You need somebody who's a great Completer finisher, you need somebody who's great at a camp. So you go hire a great person, a captain leave the camps alone, because they no longer you what you're good at. Right?Veronica Kirin 08:54You're the visionary in your industry. That's why you started the business, you had a vision for your industry for your specialty. And that's where you need to stay. Thursday January 14, 2021 The five parables in the Olivet discourse would all seem to associate with the second coming, and yet in our age, watchfulness, readiness, and labor are just as important. We are to fix our eyes of Jesus, the Author and Completer of our faith. We anticipate an imminent Rapture of the church. The principles of watchfulness, readiness, and labor apply to us as it would to believers in the Tribulation awaiting the return of the Lord. for full notes: https://www.cgtruth.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=2366

Pastor DJay Martin teaches on Jeremiah 31:31-37 and Hebrews 9:1-28, with the message entitled “Jesus in Jeremiah: New Covenant” as he continues the sermon series “Living in His Story: Jesus, the Author, Hero, Completer”.The Hebrew Scriptures are filled with covenants. The Lord established covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David. But each of these covenants pointed forward to a coming covenant that was only foreshadowed by the first covenants. The prophet Jeremiah called this the “New Covenant.” This week we will look at the promise of the New Covenant, and its fulfillment through the life, teaching, and ministry of Christ.
Josh Hostetter teaches on Isaiah 53, with the message entitled “Jesus in Isaiah: Jesus the Suffering Servant” as he continues the sermon series “Living in His Story: Jesus, the Author, Hero, Completer”.
Danny Conicelli teaches on Psalm 2, with the message entitled “Jesus in the Psalms: Lion, Lamb, King” as he continues the sermon series “Living in His Story: Jesus, the Author, Hero, Completer”.“The idea of YHWH alone as king, as expressed by the extreme revolutionaries in the first century, thus raises a big question. What will this mean in practice, in reality? What will is look like? How does all this line up, if it does, with the national expectation and hope? Will it underwrite it, will it overthrow it, or will it perhaps do both of those at the same time? Paying attention to the prophets would indicate that something like this third possibility was likely; but what would it actually mean? In particular, the question was raised: would YHWH actually appear, visibly and in person, to take charge? If so, what could people expect to see? How would it happen?” -N.T. Wright referencing Psalm 2 Psalm 2 was written around 1044 B.C. by King David. In 2020 A.D. we are privileged with a clearer picture of God’s “Anointed King” through his revelation in the person of Jesus Christ. Why is this significant and what does it mean for us today? Does Jesus as King fulfill all your expectations? Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you His message while reading through Psalm 2 along with, Acts 13:13-52, Romans 1:1-6, Matthew 28:18, John 12:12-15, 19:14-15, and Revelation chapters 5 & 6..”
Friend to Friend: Hope for your Heart and Help from His Word
On today’s episode, “Loving and Learning: Celebrating 58 Years of Marriage,” you’ll hear the story of how a marriage can be both faithful and fruitful. Marriage can far exceed our limited expectations even in a world full of heartbreak, rising divorce and often unclear pictures of God’s plan for marriage. My guests have a marriage that shines brightly and not because of two perfect people who said “I do”, but because of two people who daily recognize how much they need God’s help. Pastor DJay Martin teaches on Psalm 22, Mark 15:21-34 and, John 19:28 with the message entitled “Jesus in the Psalms: Suffering Messiah” as he continues the sermon series “Living in His Story: Jesus, the Author, Hero, Completer”.“Is the universe a friendly place?” This, according to Albert Einstein, is the key question for humanity to ask when pondering the nature of life. I think it’s a very good question, though, as a Christ follower, I would probably frame it slightly differently. As Christians, our worldview – namely the way in which the hope and joy we have in Christ shape the way we view life – compels us to answer “Yes!” But, how then do we process the horrors of our fallen world with intellectual and emotional honesty? Things around us are often really bad, and to say otherwise would be completely disingenuous. How then do we still fiercely cling to the hope we have in the promises of God, while also not belittling the suffering and pain around us? Thank God for the Psalms. Here we find a balance of joy and grief, of celebration and mourning. Psalm 22 illustrates this richly. Psalm 22 was a song written by David in a time of deep grief. It was the Psalm quoted by Jesus on the cross and also quoted by both the gospel writers John and Mark when reflecting upon the Crucifixion. Psalm 22 is also illustrative of the types of things that you and I face as we journey through a broken world, experiencing real pain, while always holding fast to faith, hope, and the love of Christ.”
Pastor DJay Martin teaches on Acts 7 & Colossians 1 with the message entitled “Jesus in the Torah: From Abraham to the Door of the Promise” as he continues the sermon series “Living in His Story: Jesus, the Author, Hero, Completer”. “As we continue our sweeping overview of the history of Israel during the Torah period, we continue to see God’s provision in each chapter of the story. We also continue to see that Jesus was as active then as He is now.”
Pastor DJay Martin teaches on Genesis 12:1-9 with the message entitled “Jesus in the Torah: Adam to Abraham” as he continues the sermon series “Living in His Story: Jesus, the Author, Hero, Completer”.“From Adam to Noah, and from Noah’s sons to the tower of Babel, and all through the story of Abraham and his sons we see an increasingly difficult and complicated world. Each generation seems to descend into further chaos and brokenness. But we also see Jesus in each story. From Adam to Abraham, Jesus was at work guiding and preserving, and also preparing for Himself a people.”
Tim Doering (PFC Minister of Regional Leadership in East Coventry PA) teaches on Hebrews 12:1-2 with the message entitled “God’s Story - Our Story” as he begins a new sermon series “Living in His Story: Jesus, the Author, Hero, Completer”. "For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen." - Romans 11:36
Heather Lampard concludes our series. Revival should be more than a season. It should be embedded in our culture and overflow in a lifestyle! Revival isn’t just something that happens to us - it’s a promise to be embraced and a power by which we live. At the heart of revival is God Himself who is the Creator, Sustainer and Completer of all things. Revival brings us into a fresh and authentic revelation of Almighty God and His great purposes on the earth. We encounter His glory and His power which transforms everything around us. This autumn we want to look from God’s Word at how living in a revival culture shapes all we do as followers of Jesus. We will begin by looking at how the Holy Spirit revives our relationship with God Himself. We will then look at many key ways that the Holy Spirit empowers us to live a lifestyle that glorifies the Lord and releases His ways on the earth. He was tired of hearing about other people’s exciting lives and decided to jump-start his own by taking steps to actually live as if the end was in sight. He tattooed his deadline on his butt and made the sole purpose of his life to complete his Life List (a list of more than 150 life goals). While pursuing his list, he inadvertently became a minimalist in order to gain the necessary focus to create a more meaningful life. This seemingly small change in mindset (which he later detailed in the book The Minimalist Mindset) dramatically changed his life for the better. As of 2017, Dover has completed his entire Life List (which included living alone in the wilderness for a month, traveling to nearly 100 countries, mountain climbing in Antarctica, becoming a best-selling author, etc.) View transcript, show notes, and links at http://AwesomeAtYourJob.com/ep277

2 Kings 9: The judgement of God gives us great hope for a future free from injustice, cruelty, and oppression.
