Nancie’s own burnout – 12 years ago, led her to let go of things that no longer served her. Working in a job that didn’t fulfill her and wasn’t consistent with her personal values, coupled with an unexpected car crash, led Nancie to start making different choices about where she worked and what she focused on. Of particular note, Nancie came to the difficult realization that she was creating a lot of her stress and overwhelm by her choices. In this interview, Nancie describes her journey from being completely burned out to being in a position to help others.   Nancie Vito is a coach and consultant who helps people who feel burned out to reduce stress, find fulfillment and boost happiness. After recovering from her own burnout, she founded Flourish in 2009, where she has inspired people who feel stuck (perhaps in a soul-crushing job) to take steps towards what they truly want. With an interest in mindset, mindfulness and motivation, she is grateful that her background in public health and mental health led her to this path.   Q & A   Why do you think self care is so important? Without it, we can’t thrive, we can’t flourish. We have to help ourselves first in order to help other people. What was the number one thing that was holding you back from accepting self love? Underlying beliefs that I was not good enough, worrying about what other’s thought. Who is one person who has changed your life for the better? A professor that studied the concept of happiness, well being, and flourishing. What is the best advice you have ever received? “The Universe will always give you what you need, and the universe has your back.” What is a self care habit that you practice regularly?
