In this special edition episode, Marc O'Neil, former Tallafornia and Big Brother UK contestant is on the show giving us the lowdown on his time in the Big Brother house in 2015. We get an insider account and go behind the scenes of Big Brother and Tallafornia as Marc tells us about the production and what the producers don't show. We sing a Take That parody and talk about Marc's sex life, political correctness; and he dishes the dirt on other housemates. We also discuss his days at the army and some disturbing but hilarious stories as well as get deep into the issue of drug legalisation. Marc knows his stuff when it comes to chemicals after graduating from Maynooth University with a Degree in Organic Chemistry and Molecular Biology; he gives us his opinion on the drug culture in Ireland. We talk about the case of missing Madeline McCann and discuss the recent Big Brother scandal of abuse accusations made against Ryan Thomas by fellow contestant Roxanne Pallett. We talk about life, the mysteries of Space and our favourite movies. This special edition episode is packed full of hilarity and anecdotal gold, you won't want to miss it. P.S. Roxanne Pallett has been cast (and since left) Celebrity Island since our last record (exploitative, much?) and Hurricane Florence is heading towards the USA. Meanwhile, 2 more people have attempted to make bookings at The High Low hotel. Our towels must be reeeeeally soft, or something.Today, we discuss Serena Williams's epic tantrum at the US Open final - and how it overshadowed Naomi Osaka's first Grand Slam win. The most interesting part of the narrative isn't the tantrum, itself: but how it's culturally metabolised. And another woman in trouble getting angry is Kirstie Allsopp who recently admitted to smashing her kids iPad in fury, after they wouldn't stop playing computer games. She's quit Twitter, amidst the furore and her parenting - and privilege - is now under scrutiny. We chew over the makings of a modern-day Twitter storm and wonder if parenting and social media are destined for trouble. Please go to https://www.gofundme.com/emergency-support-for-rwc to donate to the Refugee Women's Centre, helping refugee families in Calais and DunkirkRecommendationsAdèle, by Leila Slimani, out January 2019 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adèle-Leila-Slimani/dp/0143132180Ben Machell interviews Grenfell firefighter Edric Kennedy-Malfoy and Peter Crouch, both for The Times magazinehttps://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/firefighter-edric-kennedy-macfoy-what-i-saw-inside-grenfell-tower-broke-me-bl8q8h37khttps://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/former-england-striker-peter-crouch-on-the-pampered-lives-of-premier-league-players-7l8bjz6kwSimon Hattenstone interviews Phoebe Waller-Bridge for The Guardian magazinehttps://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/sep/08/phoebe-waller-bridge-fleabag-killing-eve-transgressive-womenZadie Smith essay on ageing, in the (current) October issue of ELLE magazine Remembering Aretha Franklin on Fresh Air https://www.npr.org/programs/fresh-air/2018/08/16/639157290?t=1536776911699Steve Young on Here's The Thing With Alec Baldwin: https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/hidden-trove-musicals-broadways-greatest-talentsSlate's Slow Burn series two: http://www.slate.com/articles/slate_plus/watergate.html?via=gdpr-consentDaisy Buchanan on Sofie Hagen's Made of Human podcast: https://www.madeofhumanpodcast.com/episodes/2018/8/30/105-daisy-buchanan-a-gymnastics-routine-of-shameGuys We F****d with Dan Soder https://m.soundcloud.com/guyswefucked/dan-you-give-please-dont-leave-me-headWhere Should We Begin with Esther Perel:

Roxanne Pallett, probably still best-known for her long-running character of Jo in ITV’s Emmerdale, is currently appearing as Tyler in Neil LaBute’s Some Girls at London’s Park Theatre and in 2017 will star as Holly in a new production of The Wedding Singer, a musical based on the popular 1998 film of the same name, for a national tour. Roxanne talks to BTG editor David Chadderton about both productions in a busy year for her, and also speaks quite frankly about how tough it can be for an actor to handle the leaner times when the work isn't coming in. Some Girls by Neil LaBute runs at Park Theatre in London from 14 July to 6 August 2016. The Wedding Singer will open at Curve in Leicester on 9 February 2017 and will tour the UK until September 2017.
