Many athletes struggle with similar aspects of the lifts. This is because snatches and cleans will always be snatches and cleans, without much external unpredictability. Pull variations are intended to emphasize phases of the lift that must be trained perfectly. How you program these movements, including high and low stress days, to your specific population of athletes SHOULD be meaningfully different than most other coaches. Listen in as we discuss our favorite things, including snatch high pulls, low stress training days, and creating your own training system. After shooting over 140 films and winning an AVN award for Best Actress for her performance in Portrait of a Call Girl, she left the industry to pursue DJing and entrepreneurship. In this episode, she discusses the financial benchmark she needed to hit to leave the world of adult film and what it looked like to start over in an unfamiliar industry. Andrews also dives into how she finds design inspiration for her brands and why she feels like the older she gets, the better she gets at saying no.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

From Complex, Adidas, to Sneeze magazine, Bradley Carbone is key in establishing and driving an authentic New York point of view - or what many may call, “streetwear media”. Bradley has his finger on the pulse of skateboarding, music, and the intersection of street art and fine art. He does this in a way that many people don't talk about. It's one thing to have creative vision, but it's absolutely essential to have direction and organization for visibility and growth. It's also another very rare thing to be as successful, equally kind as Bradley. In this episode, Bradley discusses how he stays true, connected, and innovative with the street-inspired culture of skateboarding. Mark and Thom go for a bit of a deeper 90's cut for this episode of Once, Every Two Weeks as they revisit Nada Surf's 1996 release, High/Low.Welcome back to Once Every Two Weeks, a podcast where long-time friends, Mark and Thom, take a nostalgic trip back to their high school years to discuss the albums that impacted them and, for better or worse (though mostly for the worse), shaped who they are today. Before diving into the music, Mark and Thom discuss the trailer for the new The Crow movie, its casting choices, and their expectations. Thom shares his experience of taking his daughter to her first concert to see Jimmy Eat World, while Mark brings updates from Burro Borracho Records for Columbia Jones and Regan Ashton. They also talk about how Taylor Swift is monopolizing the vinyl market, to the detriment of literally every other artist in the world. Then they delve into the evolution of Nada Surf, covering Matthew Caws' childhood, his first band Because, Because, Because, their disintegration, and what led to the formation of Nada Surf. Listen to how a fortuitous meeting with Rick Ocasek, frontman of the band The Cars, fast-tracked their journey. Mark and Thom talk about the band's early days, including how Ocasek helped them produce their first album, which was recorded at Electric Lady Studios. Mark and Thom spend some time discussing their biggest single "Popular" and how a song that resonated with diverse audiences for different reasons had a distinct resonance with the 90's music scene but also eclipsed some of the genius of the rest of their album. And, always, they'll do a play-by-play breakdown of all songs from high/low and give you their top 3 songs from the album. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We’re a day late this week because Rob had to have a colonoscopy, which leads to some weird and funny observations about going to the doctor. We also ask Rob if he thinks the Lakers have turned their back on Darvin Ham, and Rob says seeing guys walk out of the huddle is very normal in the NBA because guys know the play that the coach is drawing up. Props go out to UConn for bringing home their second straight National Championship – and specifically to Rob’s friend Dawn Staley for leading South Carolina to a women’s title and completing the unbeaten season. We also feature some of Dawn Staley’s post game audio, as she had a class move in recognizing Caitlin Clark. And we all contemplate if the buzz from the women’s tournament will carry over to the WNBA this season. Rob also talks about how much the “one-and-done” killing the storylines in the men’s game, and we all think that Bronny James declaring for the Draft is more of a portal move, and he’ll likely stay in college but move to a new program. Plus we debate whether Paul Pierce is drinking again on TV, thinking the Lakers would trade LeBron for Spida – but we do wonder what the Cavs are going to do with Donovan Mitchell… could he work in San Antonio with Wemby? A cool Big Shot of the Week gets us into some eclipse talk, and it’s a History Making Edition of the High/Low game!
This week Meera and Michelle discuss a recent visit to High Low, a sunny coffee shop operated by Blueprint Coffee, where the cortados and biscuits are on point. Also in the conversation is Michelle's visit to Mississippi Bistro -- the temporary restaurant that's taken over since Cinder House closed in January -- there she tried several dishes from the menu including a fried chicken sandwich and a mesmerizing espresso panna cotta with almond macaron from assistant executive pastry chef Tiffany Gilmore. Every Day, We Are Exposed To Heavy Metals. Heavy metals like lead, arsenic, mercury, and aluminum never went away. They are still present in home building materials, furniture, food, beverages, and more. Finding ways to reduce exposure to these heavy metals (and many more) is incredibly important. To do that effectively, people first need to know which heavy metals they are being exposed to — if any. This quiz was designed to evaluate individual risk factors for heavy metal exposure, and to gauge whether getting tested for heavy metals is recommended or not. Believe it or not, there are simple at-home tests people can take if they are being exposed — this quiz will determine if it's worth it to take one.
