A Most Heartfelt Journey... In "Lovecraft Country," Jurnee Smollett as Leti Lewis navigates a horror fantasy adaptation of 1950s America - a dangerous and eerie saga with piercing similarities to our present cultural reality. The HBO series reconnected Smollett with "Underground" series creator, Misha Green, for another brave examination of the African American experience and meaningful television drama. During the 2021 SCAD aTVfest, Smollett returned to SCAD and received the Distinguished Performance Award for her portrayal of Leti Lewis. Her virtual visit included masterclasses and mentorship for current SCAD students, as well as today's interview with Paula Wallace. The two reconnected on Smollet's journey from child actress to leading voice, the research she employs in crafting her characters, and a glimpse into future projects.

For nine years running, SCAD aTVfest has celebrated the design, creativity, and innovation in television and media. Producer Summer Evans speaks with the filmmakers of "Murder on Middle Beach," and we'll hear about the virtual line-up for the event.

The Climb To Primetime... On this episode of “On Creativity,” Paula Wallace is joined by Emmy Award-winning actor, Eric McCormack. McCormack currently stars as the titular Will Truman in NBC’s juggernaut sitcom, “Will and Grace.” For eleven seasons and two-hundred and forty-six episodes, McCormack has brought charm, dignity, and humor to the airwaves along with his co-stars of television’s finest. His creative journey has brought him from classic American sitcoms to hard hitting dramas like "Travelers" and "Perception." In recognition of McCormack’s singular contribution to television, he was honored with the Impact Award at the 2020 SCAD aTVfest in February. There he sat with Paula Wallace and four SCAD School of Entertainment Arts students for this wonderful dive into his storied career.

"Dark/Web” is about the evolution of the internet which has given way to a world in crisis; one where everyone's connected and no one is safe. Molly Solis (Noemi Gonzalez), a cyber securities analyst, understood these dangers better than anyone and was determined to find a way to keep people protected... until she vanished without a trace. Now, friends and foes from her past are in a race against time to decipher cryptic messages she's left behind; tales that paint a grim picture of technology run amok. As the mystery deepens, they will discover the stories, and Molly herself, may be concealing information that could change the world, or destroy it. "DARK/WEB" is comprised of eight anthology segments, each dealing with different dangers of the tech age, connected by a serialized narrative uncovering the mystery behind Molly’s disappearance. Soon after, Michael portrayed a lovesick teenager in the 3D horror thriller "The Collection" and has recurred on various television shows including "American Crime Story: The People Vs. OJ Simpson", “Revenge", "CSI: New York", and “Nashville". His additional credits include starring in the Netflix psychological-thriller “Circle”, "The Tribe" and Hallmark Channel’s “Christmas In Homestead”. Beyond acting, Michael has established himself as a producer and director. His film, "Another Happy Day", wherein he also acted opposite Ezra Miller, Kate Bosworth and Demi Moore.
