What happens when the original voices behind Bendy Bodies come back together 200 episodes later? In this special milestone episode, Dr. Linda Bluestein reunites with her original co-host, dance medicine specialist Jennifer Milner, and the very first guest ever featured on the podcast, Dr. Moira McCormack. Long before hypermobility became a topic of widespread discussion, Dr. McCormack was asking important questions. A former Royal Ballet dancer, former Lead Physiotherapist for The Royal Ballet, and pioneering researcher, she was among the earliest clinicians investigating joint hypermobility in dancers and the challenges that often accompany it. Together, they reflect on more than two decades of progress in our understanding of hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), while exploring the many misconceptions that still persist today. The conversation goes far beyond flexibility. Dr. McCormack explains why many hypermobile dancers must work harder, recover more strategically, and develop greater body awareness than their peers. The discussion also dives into the often-overlooked multisystem effects of hypermobility, including fatigue, pain, dysautonomia, gastrointestinal symptoms, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS). Drawing on decades of experience working with elite dancers and hypermobile patients, Dr. McCormack shares practical insights on injury prevention, individualized rehabilitation, hands-on assessment, and the art of teaching movement with patience and precision. Whether you're a dancer, athlete, parent, teacher, clinician, or someone navigating hypermobility yourself, this episode offers both a fascinating look at how far the field has come and a roadmap for where we still need to go. Most importantly, it reminds us that success in a hypermobile body isn't about having the most flexibility. It's about developing the control, strength, awareness, and resilience to use that flexibility well. Key Takeaways • This episode reunites the same three people who launched Bendy Bodies with Episode 1, creating a full-circle conversation 200 episodes later. • Hypermobile dancers often work harder behind the scenes than audiences realize. Fatigue, recovery, and injury prevention are frequently bigger challenges than flexibility itself. • Flexibility without control can increase injury risk. Strength, stability, motor control, and body awareness are essential for long-term success. • Hypermobility can affect far more than the joints, contributing to symptoms involving the nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, immune system, and cardiovascular system. • Rehabilitation is rarely one-size-fits-all. Hypermobile individuals often benefit from individualized assessment, hands-on treatment, and slower, more deliberate progression. • Teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals play a critical role in recognizing early warning signs and supporting healthy development in young dancers. • One of the most powerful injury-prevention strategies may be surprisingly simple: learning to master posture and alignment before adding movement. • Moira also honors the influence of the late Professor Rodney Grahame, with whom she conducted her early research and met frequently to discuss joint hypermobility, connective tissue disorders, and the many unanswered questions that continue to shape the field today. What if the thing keeping you from God isn't your past… but your perception of it?In this powerful look at Luke 7, we see two very different people sitting at the same table. One is respected, put-together, and religious. The other is broken, messy, and uninvited. And yet, Jesus makes it clear who truly understands grace. This message challenges the idea that some people need God more than others. The truth is, no one is forgiven a little. And when you finally see how much grace you've received, it changes how you love, how you live, and how you see others. There is a place for you at the table. The question is… will you take it?• We don't need more truth—we need to believe simple truth more deeply• No one is forgiven a little—we all need overwhelming grace• Jesus welcomes the unlikely and sends us to do the sameKey Scriptures:Luke 7:36–50If this message spoke to you, take a step: come back to the table, bring your whole story, and receive the grace that's already been offered to you. Then share this with someone who needs to know there's a place for them too.Bayou City Fellowship Spring Branch Campus | Brian McCormack | May 3, 2026https://linktr.ee/bayoucityfellowship
Send us Fan MailWelcome back to another Class Chat. In this episode Will chats with Cavan native Eddie McCormack. Where does one start with this man. He is in his second act as an elite Amateur. In his first act he had the great honour of getting beaten by Rory McIlroy, twice. Once in the final of the Close in 2005 and again in the West of Ireland. Add to that other close calls including losing to Shane Lowry in the semi final of the West in 2008, losing in the final of the West to Rory Leonard n 2010 Eddie has played with the best of them. Throw in 3 Senior Cup All Ireland medals and a Barton Shield medal with Galway Golf Club, 8 mid amateur titles including the Irish Mid Amateur in his home club and a Connacht stroke play title in 2018 and that is probably enough for any one person. Not this man, onward to the second act and Eddie is now on the senior tour where he has had his biggest win in the European Individual Gold medal in 2023 which was played in Douglas. This got him into the Senior Open in the same year where he got to play with his golfing hero Jose Maria Olazabal. Some say don't ever meet your hero. Not in the this case. In 2025 Eddie that created history by being the first person the win the Senior Amateur Open and Matchplay which is just an amazing achievement. He then went and won a gold medal in Austria at the Senior Team Championship playing alongside the likes of Joe Lyons, Andrew Norris, Jody Fanagan, Karl Bornemann, Philip Purdy and of course Eddie. What is left for him to do? Watch this space. What a legend and a chat I wont forget soon. Follow us on Instagram @atocpod and follow our YouTube channel @PARfectlyclassy
Jon McCormack is - as plainly stated on his Linked-In profile - a Photographer, Nerd, Educator and Conservationist His photographic work is deeply informed by his upbringing in the stark, untamed landscapes of the Australian Outback, where early life among sheep and cattle fostered a profound respect for nature's rhythms of resilience and fragility. Today, his images explore the intricate patterns and emotional textures of wild places, seeking to inspire both wonder and a sense of responsibility, and are widely published and used by global conservation organizations to advocate for the protection of fragile ecosystems. In addition to photography Jon is also actively involved in conservation and social good organizations. He is a member of The Explorer's Club, a founding board member of Sealegacy, co-founder of his non-profit in Kenya, The Kilgoris Project and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Fuel prices have soared and the government has had to fork out ¾ of a billion to placate angry farmers and hauliers. So, a localised source of renewable energy may need to be accelerated. My next guest thinks Hydrogen needs to be considered part of the mix. So why risk it if we have wind and solar alternatives? All to discuss with Paul McCormack the Chief Executive of Hydrogen Ireland.
Recording at LegalWeek in New York, Zach sits down with Shlomo Klapper (founder of Learned Hand) and Bridget McCormack, former Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court and now CEO of the American Arbitration Association, to challenge one of the biggest double standards in legal AI: “AI for me, but not for thee.” Lawyers are now widely using AI, but the moment it touches judges or arbitrators, support drops off. That hesitation comes as courts are under real strain, with judges handling thousands of cases a year and only minutes to decide each one, and no realistic way to keep up. Shlomo describes Learned Hand's “AI law clerk,” built to support judicial research, analysis, and drafting, while Bridget brings the perspective of someone who has both made decisions on the bench and now leads a major dispute resolution institution. The conversation moves beyond AI as an assistant and into a harder shift: AI as part of decision-making itself, and whether the system can continue to function without it. This week, I talk with Jon McCormack, the leader behind the iPhone camera at Apple—the most widely used camera in human history. But Jon's story goes far beyond technology. He grew up on a farm in rural Australia without full-time electricity, dropped out of a PhD to chase an unexpected opportunity in tech, helped build Kindle, and founded schools in Kenya that now serve thousands of children. Along the way, he developed a body of photographic work rooted not in spectacle, but in wonder. We talk about letting go of camera snobbery, building technology that empowers rather than exploits, and why beauty and awe make us more generous and connected. If you've ever wrestled with the tension between ambition and meaning—or wondered how to use your success in service of something deeper—this conversation is for you. Let's get to it! Filling in for T.J. McCormack, Walter Sterling explores the intersection of romantic expectations, financial burdens, and human curiosity during a Valentine's Day special. The program transitions from a pragmatic discussion on the rising costs of holiday gifts and the perceived "traps" of dating etiquette to a deeper investigation into modern conspiracy theories. Sterling posits that the human drive to create complex narratives—ranging from alien abductions and UFO sightings to the mysterious Epstein files—is a unique hallmark of a successful, advanced society with the luxury of intellectual leisure. TJ McCormack uses a combative and opinionated tone to critique contemporary American culture. The broadcast primarily focuses on the perceived lack of gratitude among Team USA Winter Olympic athletes and Super Bowl performers, whom the host labels as spoiled brats for using official platforms to voice political grievances. McCormack frequently contrasts these modern displays of virtue signaling with historical protests like the 1968 Olympics, arguing that today's figures lack the same moral credibility and situational awareness. Woven throughout the dialogue are sharp criticisms of New York City leadership and the growing societal dangers of addictive sports gambling. Learn more about your ad choices. TJ McCormack delivers a multifaceted critique of contemporary American politics, focusing heavily on the manipulation of children and public sentiment by the left. He asserts that Democratic leaders in Minneapolis and beyond utilize agitation tactics and distraction to mask political scandals, specifically accusing them of prioritizing power over human life during civil unrest. The program transitions into a broader discussion on the perceived destruction of national unity, featuring callers who provide anecdotal evidence regarding the dangers of physician-assisted suicide and the societal risks of ubiquitous mobile gambling. Woven throughout the dialogue is a skeptical investigation into the Epstein files, where McCormack and his audience speculate on international espionage, honey-trap operations, and the potential for deep-state cover-ups. TJ McCormack blends political commentary with personal anecdotes to engage his late-night audience. McCormack's conversational style transitions seamlessly into political satire, featuring comedic impersonations of figures like border zar Tom Homan and critiques of local governance in New York City. Through listener call-ins, the program fosters a sense of community, touching on eclectic topics ranging from immigration policy and historical trivia to the practicalities of gift-giving for his wife's birthday. TJ McCormack navigates the transition from a late Saturday night into a freezing Sunday morning in Manhattan as a massive winter storm approaches. The broadcast serves as a communal gathering space for listeners to share personal anecdotes about being stranded in blizzards, offer practical winter survival tips, and debate the controversial decision by local officials to cancel traditional snow days in favor of remote learning. McCormack balances these lighthearted "talk show clichés" with sobering current events, including a disturbing local criminal case and the volatile political climate surrounding law enforcement and civil unrest in Minneapolis. TJ McCormack gives a defense of Donald Trump's recent performance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where McCormack argues the president effectively used humor and deal-making swagger to win over a skeptical international audience. A central conflict in the dialogue is the host's sharp criticism of New York official Zoran Mamdani for eliminating traditional snow days in favor of remote learning, which McCormack characterizes as a joyless overreach of government authority. Throughout the show, the narrative is interspersed with listener call-ins discussing diverse topics such as the realities of long-term sobriety, the historical charm of celebrity roasts, and personal anecdotes about navigating extreme winter weather. TJ McCormack explores the profound necessity of living out loud to maintain personal and relational health. The broadcast is structured in two primary movements: first, an intimate monologue detailing a contentious anniversary dinner where McCormack's wife candidly expressed her unhappiness, and second, an interview with an Iranian professional named Atenna regarding the current uprisings in Iran. McCormack uses his own experience of vulnerability and silence to argue that "we are as sick as our secrets," suggesting that honest communication is the only way to prevent emotional and societal rot. TJ McCormack navigates a spontaneous, wide-ranging dialogue that blends personal introspection with listener engagement. The program centers on the theme of subjective reality, contrasting how the "charming" cold of December transforms into the miserable, utilitarian winter of January while exploring the Danish concept of hygge as a survival strategy. McCormack fosters an interactive community by soliciting stories about nocturnal reflections, career paths, and the "tapes" that play in one's mind during insomnia. The conversation frequently shifts into the paranormal and conspiratorial, featuring spirited debates over the authenticity of the moon landing, the existence of a "veil" between life and death, and near-death experiences. New research is transforming the outlook for cervical and uterine cancers -- two of the most serious gynecologic malignancies worldwide – and we'll be hearing from one of the people shaping that progress, Dr. Mary McCormack, on this episode of Raise the Line. From her perch as the senior clinical oncologist for gynecological cancer at University College London Hospitals, Dr. McCormack has been a driving force in clinical research in the field, most notably as leader of the influential INTERLACE study, which changed global practice in the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer, a key reason she was named to Time Magazine's 2025 list of the 100 most influential people in health. “In general, the protocol has been well received and it was adopted into the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines which is a really big deal because lots of centers, particularly in South and Central America and Southeast Asia, follow the NCCN's lead.”In this conversation with host Michael Carrese, you'll learn about how Dr. McCormack overcame recruitment and funding challenges, the need for greater access to and affordability of treatments, and what lies ahead for women's cancer treatment worldwide. The broadcast is anchored by the celebration of McCormack's 28th wedding anniversary, which prompts nostalgic reflections on his marriage to his British wife and his personal journey toward sobriety. Between these intimate stories, the show shifts into a "talk radio buffet," inviting callers to vent about everyday irritations like parking lot etiquette and discuss broader topics such as the political polarization affecting modern friendships. TJ McCormack offers a contemplative analysis of a fatal shooting involving ICE agent, Jonathan Ross and his killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis. He explores the complex tension between personal convictions and civic responsibility, arguing that while the deceased woman's motives may have been earnest, her refusal to comply with law enforcement was terribly irresponsible. McCormack identifies a broader cultural crisis where political ideology—specifically the "ends justify the means" mentality of the left—leads to unnecessary tragedy and the demonization of law enforcement.
