The grand opening of the Barack Obama Presidential Library and Eyesore went just about as you would expect. It's still overbudget and not paid for, on stage they apologized for building it on stolen land and Obama himself talked about slavery. Then it got worse. Springsteen and Bono, who look like they have Ozempic Aids, sang sad songs and the whole place was a bummer than tried to have fake fun. Who would have guessed? But here's a great story... the Marine Band at UFC 250 last Sunday night was so great they are all getting a bonus from POTUS and... one of his friends. Josh Hawley is so wrong about Major League Baseball and players writing on their hats he's an embarrassment to Republicans everywhere. I have the goods on him and it's pretty bad. It's a big weekend ahead with the US Open Golf Championship and Team USA in the World Cup. Danny Clinkscale has a couple thoughts. And our Final Final is a local baseball player and two famous musicians being sued over their steakhouse going under. Beware of the this story Patrick and Travis.

This kind of one-way relationship is generally between a fan and a public figure or fictional character. It's about the feeling of familiarity or even friendship we feel for a celeb without ever actually having had any direct interaction with them. Most of the time of course, said celeb doesn't even know we exist. After all, depending on their stature, they may have millions of fans, but there's only one of them! It's a very modern-day phenomenon, isn't it? Are parasocial relationships problematic? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! The FIFA World Cup has taken over Toronto, Vancouver and cities across the United States and Mexico. Here in Canada, its early days were marred by pro-Palestinian activists protesting Israel's membership in FIFA. Our sports podcasters ask: Do these people know Israel isn't competing in the World Cup? FIFA head Gianni Infantino, meanwhile, is once again moving in the opposite direction, pushing to create a friendly match between Israel and Palestine's under-15 teams. Both examples point to a bizarre trend: using the World Cup, a major sporting event spotlighting dozens of countries worldwide (none of which are Israel), to focus on Israel. Can we just focus on the sport, please? Meanwhile, online trolls are injecting antisemitism into yet another sport that's largely devoid of Jews. After the New York Knicks won the NBA Championship last week, a strange amount of attention is being paid to its Jewish celebrity fans and their comments (Jerry Seinfeld)—or lack of comments (Alana Haim)—about Palestine. The Menschwarmers dig into all this, plus Jalen Brunson's Jewish wife, the Carolina Hurricanes' Jewish general manager, and Belgium's Jewish-adjacent soccer goalie. Seth and Sean along with Raheel assess which celebrities claiming to be Knicks fans are legit and which are phonies, discuss something Tank Dell said that has them thinking maybe the Texans told him to temper his optimism when asked about coming back, lay out a BS tactic the Spurs tried to pull that leads them to believe losing the finals was karma, and see what the ITL question of the day is with Reggie and Lopez.

Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber react to the strange moments surrounding the Knicks Game 3 loss, starting with Mark Davis calling Josh Hart the wrong name and referring to Victor Wembanyama by his nickname. What begins as a debate over referee professionalism quickly turns into a larger conversation about whether the Knicks are getting a fair whistle. The guys also discuss whether New York needs to match San Antonio's physicality, why Shaq's comments about pushing around smaller players struck a nerve, and how Madison Square Garden's celebrity scene became part of the night's story. From Derek Jeter and Eli Manning courtside to a detour into Law and Order SVU, the hour captures the mix of frustration, humor and nervous energy around a suddenly tighter Finals series.
Gio expects a Game 4 Knicks win with big outings from KAT and Bridges, noting OG Anunoby has been their most consistent playoff star. We call out DJ Khaled burying his face in his phone, wonder how Fat Joe affords all these games, and break down Boomer's theory that the Knicks pay for celebrity private planes. Jerry's final update highlights Castle's late big three giving the Spurs a seven-point lead, plus audio from head coach Mitch Johnson. Finally, we look at Wemby sketching a statue at Gramercy Park, Dylan Harper explaining to NBA-TV how yelling fans fueled them, the "Moment of the Day" featuring the Inside the NBA crew, and our final thoughts on the Spurs' Game 3 win.

Laguna Beach's Alex Murrel Johnson, otherwise know as Alex M, Steps Behind The Rope. With Laguna Beach's 20th Anniversary having aired earlier this month, all things Laguna are top of the mind. One of the granddaddy's of them all, or as we like to say, one of the best reality shows to ever exist. Alex explains what it was like to be a student at Laguna Beach High School when MTV came knocking on its door. Alex discusses how she felt with her “bit*h” edit once she watched the show back as the season aired. Alex also discusses what it was like to gain instant fame overnight and how life changed once that fame, and money, started to roll in. Of course, we also discuss her Laguna Beach colleagues Lauren Conrad, Jason Wahler, Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari. We discuss what our fav Laguna Beach students were like way back when, and the status of each of these relationships today. Alex discusses what life was like once her time on the show ended and she moved to LA, where she initially spent a lot of time hanging out in the clubs with other friends, including some of our favorite Hill's cast members, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Brody Jenner and Spencer Pratt. During her time in Los Angeles she also partied with Celebs like Paris Hilton, Aaron Carter and ex boyfriend Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Last, but not least, we talk RHOC, Bravo and the current state of reality tv.
