Do you ever find yourself wondering if some people are simply too far gone for God to reach? As Christians, we often say, "Nothing is impossible with God," yet deep down, we wrestle with doubt. In his sermon, "No One Is Too Far Away," Pastor Chris Kipp unpacks 1 Kings 17:17-24, which tells the story of the first resurrection recorded in the Bible. Through Elijah’s bold faith and fervent prayer, we see a powerful reminder that no one is beyond God's reach. Chris challenges us to follow Elijah’s example—lifting our faith, crying out in prayer, and believing in Christ’s power to transform even the most unlikely lives. When we’re in doubt about God’s presence or intentions in our life, we need to remember that He’s sovereign, even over death, and has proven to be good to us.

The account of Elijah and the widow's son is the first time in the bible where a dead person is brought to life in the natural. It is a foreshadowing of spiritual death to life and what is to come with Jesus and the power of the ressurection. Faith that is increased through obedient action will raise dead things to life.
How do we respond in the midst of tragic circumstances, such as the sudden loss of a loved one? Do we turn on and blame God, forgetting all the blessings and care the Lord has provided for us in the past? Or do we trust God in faith, resting in God's power over death. This morning we look at three resurrection accounts in scripture and how many participants set poor examples of unbelief during those tragic moments. We hope to learn from these accounts to trust in the power of God, regardless of how challenging our present circumstances might seem.

If God tells you to do something, get a move on. We don’t have to understand God’s plan, just obey God’s will. Poor people usually have no luck. The widow of Zarephath had faith in God.

Part 3 in our series on "When God Fails."
Is it easier to explain the resurrection or to be honest about our failings and give people a change to change throughout their life? Regardless, God loves you... even if you think bible study or church sucks.
