In this message from John 17, we “listen in” as Jesus prays the night before His crucifixion, revealing the priorities that should shape our own intercessions. If Matthew 6 teaches us how to pray, John 17 shows us how Jesus prays for us—and therefore how God’s people should pray for one another. As we adopt the heart of Jesus in our prayers—for our families, church, community, and fellow believers—we learn to pray with His priorities, His confidence, and His love. This is what it means for God’s people to pray like Jesus.

"Jesus prays that you will be protected, sanctified, and unified." Christians are disciples of Jesus. This means that they have chosen to follow him. How can someone do this 2,000 years after he last walked the earth? These sermons answer that question by looking at the first disciples. Their interactions with Jesus, and his words about them, teach us how to be disciples. Impacted? Let us know: https://Creekside.Me/Respond Miss a sermon in this series? What kinds of things did Jesus pray for His followers? That can give us some clues as to what we should prioritize in our prayers for one another. In John 17, Jesus sets an example for us in praying for one another as we go on mission into the world to make disciples.

In a season of disconnection and isolation, community is vital. The church can provide an excellent opportunity to help people stay connected. Since Jesus's main work was relationship with people, we too, should make it our main work.

Shortly before his betrayal and death, Jesus spends time in prayer to the Father. This "high priestly prayer" offers us a unique picture into how Jesus lifts up his mission, his disciples, and even us. Come and hear what his message that night means for us today.

There is much about the people you are praying for that should affect the way you pray for them. Many times we are affected by the wrong things in our prayers for others, but in these prayers of Jesus we will see what should influence our prayers as we pray for others. We finish our mini series tonight looking at two of the prayers that Jesus made on behalf of His disciples.

Have you ever wondered what was on God's heart? Well, just before Jesus went to Calvary, He allowed us to listen in on His prayer. We discover that WE were on His heart! Music by Laura Story.
Jesus modeled the perfect prayer life by which His followers were not only inspired by His unhindred communion with God by they also experinced the benefits of His intercession. Jesus prayed that His followers would be kept from the evil one, that they would be sanctified by truth and that they would be unified. This prayer not only included the disciples who were with Christ physically while he was on earth but Jesus also included those who would believe in His prayer recorded in John 17. This includes those of us who are Christ follwers in the 21st century. May you be encouraged by the truth that Christ has prayed for you and is at this very moment interceding on your behalf.
