Is the Mystery Jeep Hiding a Bigger Secret? Plus an Unexpected Glimpse Into the Future What would you do if a Jeep sat abandoned outside your house for nine months... and the clues inside only made the mystery stranger? On this episode of The JB and Sandy Show, JB launches a full-blown neighborhood investigation after spotting a Jeep that hasn't moved in months. Expired tags, a visible credit card, a keyboard in the backseat, and a possible connection to a well-known Austin musician have the entire crew asking the same question: What really happened here? Listeners jump into the conversation as JB and Sandy try to connect the dots and solve a mystery that feels straight out of a detective series. Then, Sandy and Tricia get an unexpected look at what life might be like when their daughter heads off to college. After attending senior-year Meet the Teacher Night, the couple finds themselves having breakfast for dinner at an almost-empty IHOP, leading to hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt reflections about parenting, growing older, and what comes next. One memorable moment comes when Tricia realizes, "This is a glimpse into our future," setting off a funny and relatable discussion that every parent will recognize. The show also celebrates a high school football team that finally snapped a staggering 101-game losing streak, proving that perseverance can pay off even after more than a decade of disappointment. Plus, listeners share insider industry secrets, including insurance advice that had everyone nodding along. One standout quote that deserves a place on a T-shirt: "Not my job to do your job." You'll also hear: A listener's enthusiastic review of the new JB and Sandy era The mystery surrounding the abandoned Jeep and the hunt for answers Funny family moments from senior-year school events Thoughts on empty-nest life and breakfast-for-dinner adventures An inspiring underdog sports story The Last Laugh featuring the struggles of being married to a morning person From neighborhood mysteries to family milestones and plenty of laughs along the way, this episode delivers the perfect mix of curiosity, heart, and humor. Enjoying the show? Subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode with your friends. What really happened at the Transfiguration of Jesus, and why does it matter to Christians today? In Mark 9:1–13, Peter, James, and John are given an extraordinary glimpse of the true glory of Jesus Christ. The One they had followed, listened to, and watched perform miracles suddenly reveals what had been veiled by His humanity. Jesus did not become something He wasn't. His glory was revealed. In this sermon, “A Glimpse of His Glory,” we walk verse by verse through Mark 9:1–13 and discover what the Transfiguration teaches us about who Jesus really is.We will look at:• What Jesus meant in Mark 9:1 when He said some standing there would see the Kingdom of God come with power• Why the context points toward the Transfiguration• What it means that Jesus was “transfigured”• How the Transfiguration reveals the deity and glory of Christ• Why Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus• How Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets• Why Peter wanted to build three shelters• The significance of the Father's words, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him”• Why Moses and Elijah may give us a beautiful picture of believers at Christ's return• Why the glory of Jesus must be understood through the cross and resurrection• How John the Baptist fulfilled the Elijah prophecy• What the Transfiguration teaches us about the Second Coming and our future with ChristOne of the most powerful statements in the passage comes after the cloud clears:“They no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.”Mark 9:8Moses was gone. Elijah was gone. The spectacular moment had ended. But Jesus remained. There will be mountaintops and valleys. There will be celebrations and funerals. There will be days when our faith feels strong and days when we wonder how we will take another step. But when everything else fades, Jesus remains. The great question of Mark 9 isn't simply, “Do you understand the Transfiguration?”The question is: WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?The glorious Christ on the mountain is the same Christ who went to the cross for sinners. He died, was buried, rose again, and one day He is coming again in glory.Don't just admire His glory.Listen to the Son.Trust Him.Follow Him.Worship Him.Because when everything else passes away, Jesus will still be standing.SCRIPTURE: Mark 9:1–13SERMON: A Glimpse of His Glory#Transfiguration #JesusChrist #Mark9 #BibleSermon #TransfigurationOfJesus #GospelOfMark #BibleStudy #ChristianSermon #Jesus #SecondComing

There is a particular kind of stiffness that comes from believing your intellect is the only thing that will get you through. You put forward the version of yourself that has the answers, the version that never lets the mask slip, because somewhere along the way you learned that being seen as capable was the same thing as being safe. Then life takes the choice out of your hands. A cancer diagnosis. A five-year survival window. A 925-kilometer walk across France and Spain with nothing but a change of clothes and a set of questions you thought you had already answered. This week's guest is Alexander Ee, a former lawyer, management consultant, and corporate real estate executive who left a decades-long career in the boardroom to walk the Camino de Santiago after losing his wife, Regina, to cancer. What began as an attempt to outrun grief became something closer to a reckoning: with the mask of competence he had worn since childhood, with what it means to let people see him without it, and with a small stone he almost didn't pick up. Alexander shares the story behind his book, A Glimpse of Heaven, and what quiet courage actually looks like when the applause isn't the point.Questions Answered in This EpisodeWhat is the Camino de Santiago, and why do people walk it after loss? How do you know when you're performing competence instead of being yourself? What does the "stone tradition" at Cruz de Ferro mean, and why is it hard to let go?How does faith help someone process grief and rebuild a sense of purpose? Why do quiet, retiring people sometimes step forward when it matters most? What can someone navigating grief or a major life transition take away from this story?Key TakeawaysThe exhaustion of always having to look like you have the answers, and the relief of finally letting that goRealizing that the friends who saw every flaw were the ones who made you feel most acceptedThe strange, almost physical weight of carrying something you haven't admitted you need to releaseDiscovering that purpose doesn't arrive as a plan, it arrives as a talent you're willing to lend to someone elseWatching a quiet, retiring friend step into the spotlight exactly when the moment called for it, and realizing that same courage lives in all of usLearning to take grief one day at a time, rather than trying to picture an entire life without the person in itNotable Quote"You can command your fingers to open, and then they don't."Chapter Approximate Timestamps 00:00 – Introduction to Alexander Ee00:53 – From law to consulting to corporate real estate02:08 – His wife Regina's cancer diagnosis and the decision to stay home 04:48 – Rediscovering faith through prayer and humility08:27 – What really inspired the Camino de Santiago11:34 – Dropping the mask: discovering he was "quite likable"19:51 – The stone he almost didn't bring, and letting go at Cruz de Ferro26:05 – How grief still resurfaces, and where he finds comfort28:19 – Finding purpose through talents used for others31:09 – Money, achievement, and mistaking identity for what doesn't last36:23 – Turning an annual pilgrimage into a fundraiser37:15 – Community, quiet courage, and the ethos of the Quiet Warrior39:33 – The friend who stepped up when it mattered42:12 – A message for anyone navigating grief or transition43:34 – Alex's book, A Glimpse of Heaven: Grief, Self and Community on the CaminoAbout the GuestAlexander Ee is a former lawyer, management consultant, and corporate real estate executive based in Singapore. Florida was the last man standing so to speak when it came to mandatory fencing of cattle and when the law took effect in 1949 it marked the end of the open range grazing while ushering in a myriad of changes for Florida cowmen. In this episode of the podcast, we begin with a look back at what it was like to spend a week driving cattle across the state in the mid 1930's based on a firsthand account documented by Mr. Jesse Durrance. After that, we roll into the second half of the show and share some excerpts from the book Florida Cowman that touch on the range wars and other factors leading up to the enactment of Florida's Fence Law. We hope you enjoy this interesting firsthand cattle drive account and share it with folks who are unaware of our rich ranching legacy.

In this sermon from Exodus 25, Pastor Jared Richard takes the church on a guided tour through the tabernacle, unpacking one of the most important visual aids in all of Scripture. From the outer courtyard's bronze altar and basin, through the holy place with its lampstand, table of bread, and altar of incense, all the way to the ark of the covenant resting in the holy of holies, every element was deliberately designed by God to communicate something true about Himself — His majesty, His heart, and His holiness. Just as God enriched Israel with Egypt's plunder to build this dwelling place, every piece of that tent was a declaration that the God who brought them out of bondage still desired to be in their midst. Yet the tabernacle also holds a deep tension at its center: God draws near to His people, but His people can only come so close. The veils, the restrictions, the cherubim guarding the inner room — all of it echoed back to the Garden of Eden, where sin first separated humanity from God's presence. Even the holiest of priests had to be ritually cleansed, and even then, the glory of God remained veiled and partial. The sacrifices offered on the bronze altar could allow for God's presence among His people, but they could not fully erase the distance that sin had created. The resolution to this tension, Pastor Jared makes clear, is Jesus Christ — the true and better tabernacle. As John 1:14 declares, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us" — and that word dwelt literally means tabernacled. Jesus is God's glory walking the dusty roads of Galilee without a veil, welcoming children into His arms, and ultimately tearing the temple curtain at the moment of His death (Matt. 27:51) so that all who repent and believe can finally draw near to the Father. And because of His finished work, the Spirit of God now lives in His people (1 Cor. 6:19), making the church itself the living tabernacle — called to display God's majesty, heart, and holiness to a watching world. In Week 5 of our Summer at Bethlehem series, Lead Pastor Jason Britt takes us to a passage that serves as an ongoing mirror for our souls: Luke 15. Through the lens of Jesus' most famous parable—traditionally known as the Prodigal Son—we discover that this isn't just a heartwarming tale about a rebellious runaway. It is a powerful, direct confrontation of the "Us vs. Them" mentality that so easily creeps into our culture and our churches. Whether we find ourselves lost in outward rebellion or lost in inward religion, the story exposes our desperate need to look in the mirror and ultimately embody the heart of the Father.

Welcome to Books at Bedtime, brought to you by Calming Anxiety. If your mind is racing with the demands of the day, or if you are struggling to transition into a peaceful night's rest, let the soothing, steady rhythm of classic science fiction guide you into a deep sleep. Tonight, we begin our third literary journey with Chapter 1 of H.G. Wells's masterpiece, The Time Machine.Step into a cozy, dimly lit Victorian dining room where a group of friends gathers after dinner. Listen as the enigmatic Time Traveler expounds on the comforting paradox of the fourth dimension, explaining how time is simply a pathway through space that our consciousness moves along. As the fire burns brightly and the room fills with the soft, hypnotic hum of philosophical debate, you will witness the demonstration of a delicate model mechanism made of ivory, brass, and translucent crystal. Read with a slow, calming cadence designed to lower your heart rate and soothe an overactive nervous system, this bedtime story podcast episode acts as a gentle anchor for your evening routine. For most American skywatchers, the star Capella is just peeking into view in the morning twilight. It’s bright, but it’s quite low as the sky brightens. You need precise timing and a clear north-northeastern horizon to spot it. A star’s first appearance is called the heliacal rising – a term that means “with the Sun.” It takes place at the same time every year, as the Sun completes a full circuit through the background of stars. In many ancient cultures, the heliacal rising of certain stars was crucial. The best example is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. In Egypt, it first appeared just before the annual flooding of the Nile – the most important event of the year. So the star’s return marked the start of a new year. Several cultures looked for the Pleiades star cluster. Its appearance marked a time to plant crops, or to gather them, depending on a culture’s location. Capella might have been important to the Zapotec, who lived in present-day Mexico. A half-century ago, researchers proposed that a building in the city of Monte Albá‡n was intentionally aligned at a right angle to Capella’s rising point. The star first appeared there at the time the Sun passed directly overhead at noon – a key date in the calendar. But later work disputed that finding. Capella isn’t nearly as important in modern times. But it reminds us that the stars once held great power over much of everyday life. Script by Damond Benningfield

What happens at a PATH retreat? Let's pull back the curtain…In this special mini episode, your hosts share an inside look at the upcoming PATH retreat at Campovida in Hopland, California—and more importantly, the heart behind these experiences. If you've ever wondered, “Is a retreat for me?” or “What actually happens there?”, this episode is your invitation to explore, reflect, and maybe even say yes. What This Episode Is AboutThis conversation isn't just about logistics—it's about the why behind PATH retreats. At its core, a PATH retreat is a real-life extension of the podcast: Not just food, movement, or self-care But the intersection of all of it A living, breathing space to pause, reset, reconnect, and REMIND yourself what matters most The retreat is less about checking boxes and more about creating a menu of experiences—you choose what nourishes you. What to Expect (and What NOT to Expect)Let's demystify it: What it IS: A choose-your-own-adventure weekend A blend of:  Gentle movement (like yoga or walking the vineyards) Food + cooking experiences rooted in PATH conversations Breathwork, reflection, and workshops Community, connection and meaningful conversation A space where you can fully be yourself—no expectations  What it is NOT: Not a rigid schedule Not a forced participation environment Not a one-size-fits-all wellness experience Not about perfection (this is a “beautiful mess,” just like the podcast!)  You can participate in everything… or nothing. You can come energized… or exhausted. You can give… receive… or both. The Deeper InvitationAt its heart, this retreat is about the verb “to retreat”: Step away from the noise Reflect inward Reconnect with what you need Return to your life with renewed perspective It's about creating space to restore, reset, reclaim, reconnect, reMIND yourself. Even a short intentional pause can shift your perspective in powerful ways. It's Okay to Feel Hesitant. Many past attendees felt unsure, nervous, maybe questioning if they'd “fit”. And what happened/// They found their way - They chose what felt right. They left with greater ease, confidence, and connection.Sometimes the biggest growth starts by simply walking through the door.  A Glimpse of the ExperienceCampovida, Hopland, California November 13–15Expect: A welcoming Friday evening connection A full Saturday of optional experiences and exploration A grounding Sunday close Alcohol is completely optional, even in a winery setting. The focus is always well-being, not pressure. If something in this episode resonated with you, lean into that feeling. You don't have to “have it all figured out.” You don't have to be ready. Just be willing. Because sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do… is create space to come back to ourselves.Ready? You can apply here. Need more inspo? See the Magical Campovida
