As the Chief Program Officer at American Bible Society he joins us to share data from first chapter of their 14th Annual State of the Bible report. He shares that Americans are interested in what the Bible has to say, especially our young adults. Dr. Plake says, “Last year, 50% of Gen Z adults (ages 18-27) agreed that the message of the Bible has transformed their lives. This year, that number rose to 54%. If this trend continues, we have good reason for hope.” Then, when you share your faith it’s OK to say, “You know what, I don’t have the answer to that. Laura Story and her husband encountered a life-threatening illness early in their marriage. She may have written the song Blessings in just thirty minutes, but she needed to go through five years of ups and downs, trials and grief, to get there. This hit song has now gone on to inspire countless Christians who have been struggling through their own trials in life. Today's big idea is Paul's claim in Romans 5 that we have “peace with God.” This is by grace, through faith, apart from works of the law. By grace we have peace with God, forgiveness of sins, and courage for life. Let's read Romans 5:1-8 and dive in.Romans 5:1-8Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
