The Key to Staying Spiritually Alive - From Death to Life

This sermon concludes the "Death to Self" teaching series with a focused look at pride and humility. Mark argues that pride is the human default — built into our nature as beings who are aware of our separateness from God and from each other. Using Philippians 2:5-8 and John 13:1-17, the sermon makes the case that humility is not a personality trait but a deliberate choice, grounded in security that comes from relationship with God. The practical challenge given to listeners is to stop self-promoting, to embrace the identity of a servant, and to make receiving God's love a daily anchor.

So often the work God is doing in your life seems to take forever, doesn’t it? But if you understand what He is doing in the meantime it will help you work with Him rather than against Him. Listen/watch this message and learn three insights to what God is doing while you are waiting.

In this sermon, Mark shares the two simple but life-changing practices that will prepare you: • A lifestyle of radical thanksgiving that literally rewires your brain (backed by neuroscience + Scripture) • Deep, authentic Christian community that releases joy, health, and God’s presence Learn how gratitude destroys anxiety, how unity invites the Holy Spirit, and how to build new neural pathways of peace—no matter what comes. Key Scriptures: Philippians 4:6, Romans 12:2, Psalm 133

Don’t be fooled thinking you are trading in for less. Don’t think following Jesus will be a joyless, unfulfilling life. Hard, yes – flesh, world, devil. But eternally rewarding! RESPONSE TIME If you will die to self and live for Christ, it will heal your marriage. It will heal your home. It will heal your soul. It will give you a new sense of joy, peace, contentment, and purpose. Prayer: “I’m letting go of my life, my independence, my stubbornness and pride. I give you Lordship in my life now. Lead me and I will follow no matter what it costs me because I trust you way is better than mine.”

We are all called to pastor one another - A Pastor that has tasted the love of God's Father heart and therefore: - makes you feel safe in his/her presence. - avoids being judgemental and critical. - sees the one he leads through the prophetic lens of the future. - doesn’t dwell on who you are now, in your failures. - dwells on who you are becoming. He sees you the way God sees you. - By doing this points you toward God’s goal for you and his belief in you becomes your belief in yourself – what you can be with God! He calls you to your destiny. - sees you as a person and not as a patient or a problem. - admits his mistakes and is vulnerable and transparent with those he leads. We tend to think that if we show our weaknesses to those we lead, they will disrespect us and our leadership. In fact, research has shown the opposite to be true. Followers have greater trust for those leaders who have been vulnerable and transparent with them. This does not mean that you should share all your weaknesses with all those you lead, but I have found it to be true that the more transparent I am, the more transparent - is a good listener. To listen is to love and to love is to listen. Listen for much more and how all of us are called to pastor one another.

Prayer was not an optional thing for the Early Church – it was the secret to their power. Listen/watch this message and you will be inspired to more prayer. Romans 1:9 NKJ; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJ; James 5:14-16 Amp

When you focus on what you don’t have rather than what you do have you will end up in a negative fearful place. But if you choose to fix your attention on what God has done you will have faith for any obstacle you face.
