Have you ever told a lie? Carried a secret around? If you have, then you know that the truth always comes out. When a secret is revealed, it often creates a mess, hurting people and harming futures. Pastor Josh McClintock continues our A Tale of Three Kings series in this message by talking about King David's biggest secret. Pastor Josh encourages us to live secret-less lives through his teaching on 2 Samuel 11-12 and Psalm 51. It's impossible to live a sinless life, but by God's grace, we can live secret-less lives!

Knowing God’s unfailing love leads David to repent and appeal to God’s grace and mercy so he can be restored to God and revived in the right relationship with God with a clean heart. AIM: Turn from Sin and toward God with a broken and contrite heart.

God’s children are in a constant state of loving and corrective discipline in a process called sanctification. Is it possible that the discipline of the Lord will produce gladness in your life? Psalm 51 settles the nature vs. nurture debate. Sin is wrapped up in our very nature and we can't escape it's effects without the mercy and grace of God. The result of genuine confession and then faithful forgiveness is clear in [v.13-15] – share it. God’s faithful forgiveness leads to excited evangelism. God desires humility and brokenness from His people.

Because we are saved in Christ alone we must repent and seek restoration in Christ alone.
Unconfessed sin will rob us of the joy of our salvation in the Lord, but repentance will always restore that joy.

After failing so completely with Bathsheba and Uriah, David is confronted with his sinfulness. He pours out his confession in his art and gives us an outline for Repentance. As we walk through Psalms 51, we uncover some subtle myths about forgiveness, repentance and confession.
Pastor Giles Armstrong will preach the tenth sermon in the series ::Love Lessons:: http://bible.com/events/670237
In this Psalm, we see King David responding to his sin with Bathsheba as described in 2 Samuel 11. From David’s reflections, we learn about the nature of sin and how we should respond to it, living lives as broken and contrite people in the face of sin.
