Not one, not two, not three, not four, our premiere for the day comes via the 11th album from a trio known as Elektro Guzzi. Based out of Vienna, the band has built an impressive catalog of instrument driven electronica that grabs your ear and doesn't let go. For over a decade they've been honing the sound, and precision necessary to excel, rare is an electronic band like this, and rarer still a club forward one. Liquid Center, from cover to cover showcases the breadth of their productions, from thumping peak time techno, to moody downtempo. Hitting all the stops in between. Rhythmic percussion and warm bass lines provide the base for most of this release. Each track building and building, highlighting the slight variations that can only come from a human source. Such a treat. Solar, appearing towards the end of the album, provides a slow, chugging, groovy vibe. Carried by crisp percussion, the track develops with a restrained attitude, element after element. Steady on, steady on. Nonchalantly swelling with melody in a few peak moments before dissolving gracefully into its base components. Solar, and in turn Liquid Center will be released on October 24th. @elektroguzzi www.instagram.com/elektroguzzi/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Carried by Four Friends!

"Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:3-5 In the tapestry of life, we often find ourselves surrounded by a vibrant community that helps elevate our spirits and dreams. Much like roof tiles sliding open to let sunlight stream into a dark room, the support of friends can illuminate our paths and help us reach new heights. The story of the paralytic man, lowered through the roof by his friends in Mark 2:3-5, beautifully illustrates this. Through their unwavering faith, they brought him into the presence of Jesus, showing us the incredible power of community. When we think about the friends in our lives, we realize that they are like the sturdy beams that support the roof of our hopes and aspirations. Just as the four friends worked together to lift their companion, we too can lift one another in faith and encouragement. Remember, "Community cracks ceilings," a powerful reminder that when we join forces, we can break through barriers that may seem insurmountable, paving the way for healing and transformation. 1 Peter 4:10 says, "As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve one another." In our moments of doubt, it's essential to recognize the value of those who surround us. Be it family, friends, or mentors, they are the voices reminding us that we are not alone. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron; so one person sharpens another.” These relationships ignite the fire within us, propelling us toward our dreams and aspirations.  So, pause today. Call the person who believed in you before you believed in yourself. Express heartfelt gratitude to those who support you with faith. Write a note, make a call, or share some words of appreciation. A simple "thank you" can speak volumes and strengthen the bonds that lift us ever higher. Keep faith alive in your words and your deeds. For in the circle of gratitude and grace, we become who we were meant to be — anchored, connected, and wholly alive. Amen. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, "Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing." Amen. Prayer for the Day!Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of community and the friends who carry us when we are weary. May we always recognize the value they bring to our journeys and continue to lift each other in love and faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Kathleen Casey joins Jana Byars to talk about The Things She Carried: A Cultural History of the Purse in America (Oxford UP, 2025). Purses and bags have always been much more than a fashion accessory. For generations of Americans, the purse has been an essential and highly adaptable object, used to achieve a host of social, cultural, and political objectives. In the early 1800s, when the slim fit of neoclassical dresses made interior pockets impractical, upper-class women began to carry small purses called reticules, which provided them with a private place in a world where they did not have equal access to public space. Although many items of apparel have long expressed their wearer's aspirations, only the purse has offered carriers privacy, pride, and pleasure. This privacy has been particularly important for those who have faced discrimination because of their gender, class, race, citizenship, or sexuality. The Things She Carried reveals how bags, sacks, and purses provided the methods and materials for Americans' activism, allowing carriers to transgress critical boundaries at key moments. It explores how enslaved people used purses and bags when attempting to escape and immigrant factory workers fought to protect their purses in the workplace. It also probes the purse's nuanced functions for Black women in the civil rights movement and explores how LGBTQ people used purses to defend their bodies and make declarations about their sexuality. Kathleen Casey closely examines a variety of sources--from vintage purses found in abandoned buildings and museum collections to advertisements, photograph albums, trade journals, newspaper columns, and trial transcripts. She finds purses in use at fraught historical moments, where they served strategic and symbolic functions for their users. The result is a thorough and surprising examination of an object that both ordinary and extraordinary Americans used to influence social, cultural, economic, and political change. As summer wanes and the nights grow long, we turn to tales of witches, curses, and the old ways that never truly died. For centuries, harvest time has carried its own magic: charms for fields, blessings for homes, and darker stories of those who bent nature to their will.In January 1962, uncontrollable laughter seized a girls' boarding school in Kashasha, Tanganyika, then leapt from classroom to village to village. Over 18 months, waves of giggling fits, tears, fainting, and fatigue shut down 14 schools and afflicted about 1,000 people across a 100-mile region. The BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesFollow us on YOUTUBEJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch:https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/09/un-moves-malawi-staff-vampire-scarehttps://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/19/malawi-mobs-kill-two-more-people-accused-of-being-vampireshttps://africanarguments.org/2017/11/a-symbolic-representation-of-life-behind-malawis-blood-sucking-beliefs/https://www.equaltimes.org/when-rumours-of-blood-suckers-andhttps://www.voanews.com/a/malawi-president-crack-down-vampires-witchcraft-after-lynchings/4069571.htmlhttps://www.vice.com/en/article/how-colonialism-fueled-deadly-anti-vampire-hysteria-in-malawiThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again tomorrow!Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. When markets soar, investors face a subtle but dangerous temptation: trading wisdom for excitement. With headlines touting record highs and optimism running wild, it's easy to get swept up in the momentum. But is now the time to double down—or to take a step back and exercise caution? Today, Mark Biller joins us to unpack the dangers of investing with emotion instead of wisdom.Mark Biller is Executive Editor and Senior Portfolio Manager at Sound Mind Investing, an underwriter of Faith & Finance. Bull Market Optimism: Proceed with CautionThe stock market has staged a remarkable comeback since spring, and many investors are feeling hopeful about the year ahead. But while optimism is natural, there's a fine line between healthy confidence and dangerous overconfidence.Just a few months ago, fear dominated the market. Now, investor sentiment has swung in the opposite direction—toward excessive optimism. History shows us that both extremes can lead to poor decision-making. Just as fear prompts panic-selling in downturns, overconfidence during bull markets can drive people to take unnecessary risks. The late 1990s provide a clear example. The dot-com bubble fueled euphoric investing in internet companies, but when the bubble burst, enormous wealth evaporated. While the internet did transform the world, many early investors paid a steep price for ignoring caution. The Risk of Projecting the PresentOptimism in the long term is typically rewarded—stocks have trended upward for more than a century despite wars, recessions, and downturns. But short-term overconfidence is dangerous. Since October 2023, the stock market has gained about 60%—roughly six years of typical returns compressed into less than two. It's unrealistic to assume such momentum will continue indefinitely. In environments like this, investors often fall into two traps:Doubling down on every dip. Rather than seeing pullbacks as a chance to pause, many rush to “buy the dip” without considering long-term goals. Abandoning diversification. When some holdings lag behind, it's tempting to dump them in favor of high-flyers like gold or crypto. This shortsightedness often backfires.Diversification: A Biblical PrincipleKing Solomon offered timeless wisdom in Ecclesiastes 11:2: “Give a portion to seven, or even to eight, for you know not what disaster may happen on earth.” Diversification is, at its core, an act of humility. Since no one knows the future, spreading investments across asset classes is the most reliable defense against both downturns and emotional decision-making.While diversification may feel “boring” during bull markets, it provides stability that helps investors stay committed to their plan when volatility inevitably returns.A strong investment strategy accounts for risk tolerance, life stage, and long-term goals. For a younger investor, this might mean a higher allocation to stocks, consistent 401(k) contributions, and the discipline to stay invested through ups and downs. For others, it may involve gradual adjustments, such as including gold or bonds. The key is making changes based on thoughtful, long-term reasoning—not fear of missing out.Confidence vs. OverconfidenceHealthy confidence comes from setting reasonable goals, understanding fundamentals, and staying the course. Overconfidence, on the other hand, assumes you can predict what's coming next—a trap no investor avoids for long.Optimism has its place, but unchecked euphoria can cloud judgment. By remembering history, practicing diversification, and committing to a steady long-term plan, investors can avoid the pitfalls of emotional decision-making and pursue lasting financial fruitfulness. If you'd like to learn more about becoming a Sound Mind Investing (SMI) member, you can visit them at SoundMindInvesting.org. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I'm 72, still running my business, and I have both an IRA and a Roth that I've never touched. It's Wednesday, September 10th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Australia outlaws certain prayers Christian Daily reports that the attorney general of New South Wales, Australia reaffirmed a ban on certain kinds of prayers last week.  The southeastern state of Australia enacted a ban on conversion practices earlier this year. The law prohibits “performing a ritual, such as an exorcism or prayer-based practice to change or suppress someone's sexual orientation or gender identity.” Lyle Shelton is the national director of the Family First Australia political party. He wrote online, “Some prayers are now illegal in New South Wales. If a mum, dad, pastor, or friend prays with someone who asks for help to follow God's Word, they could face sanction.” Shelton called for people to pray as the early church did in Acts 4:29. The verse says, “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.” Israel carried out a strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar yesterday.  Israel carried out a strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar yesterday.  Hamas said the attack killed five members but did not kill the negotiating delegation. The delegation was meeting in Qatar's capital of Doha to consider a U.S. proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza. It appears to be the first time Israel carried out an attack in Qatar. However, it's not Israel's first strike outside its borders recently. Israel carried out strikes on Hamas leaders in Lebanon and Iran last year.  10,000 Brits march for life About 10,000 Brits participated in the March for Life United Kingdom on Saturday.  The event started with church and prayer services followed by the march and speeches from pro-life leaders. Carla Lockhart, Chair of the Pro-Life Parliamentary Group, addressed the crowd. SPEAKER: “Ladies and gentlemen, young people, boys and girls, what a privilege it is to stand before you today in the streets of London. “I traveled from Northern Ireland this morning to stand in solidarity with you, fellow campaigners, who speak up for life. “Friends, today's theme is human rights for all humans. Then surely this simple truth must be the foundation upon which we build. The most basic human right is the right to life.” Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, the co-director of March for Life, spoke at the event. She had previously faced arrest for praying silently outside an abortion mill.  Vaughan-Spruce reflected on the success of the march. She said, “Whilst the center of London seemed to have erupted in chaos on Saturday, with police desperately trying to control various protests and arresting hundreds of people, the pro-life crowd exemplified the peace and joy of those who are confident that that their cause is just, and their hope is rooted in something greater than politics.” Trump announces protection of prayer in public schools In the United States, President Donald Trump addressed the Religious Liberty Commission at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. on Monday. Trump announced that the Department of Education will soon issue new guidance protecting the right to prayer in public schools. Listen to comments from President Trump. TRUMP: “When faith gets weaker, our country seems to get weaker. When faith gets stronger, as it is right now, we're having a very good period of time, after some rough years. “Under the Trump administration, we're defending our rights and restoring our identity as a nation under God. We are one nation under God, and we always will be.” (applause) Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Florida first state to end vaccine requirements Florida announced plans last week to become the first state to end vaccine requirements. Not just COVID vaccine requirements, but all vaccine requirements. Listen to comments from Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo. LADAPO: “Your body is a gift from God. What you put into your body, (applause) what you put into your body, is because of your relationship with your body and your God. I don't have that right. Government does not have that right!” The plan includes ending all vaccine mandates for school-aged children.  Americans having fewer children And finally, Gallup released a new survey on Americans' ideal family size. On average, U.S. adults think 2.7 is the ideal number of children for a family to have. That's down from 3.6 in the 1950s. Meanwhile, the actual U.S. birth rate is at an all-time low of 1.6 births per woman. That's down from 3.7 in the 1950s. The replacement rate is generally defined as 2 children per woman.  The survey notes, “Men, U.S. adults who attend religious services weekly or monthly, Republicans, people of color, and men under age 50 are significantly more likely than their counterparts to prefer three or more children.” Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, September 10th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. The Nevada-focused explorer combines traditional project ownership with strategic partnerships, creating significant leverage opportunities while minimizing dilution risks for shareholders.Under the leadership of President and CEO Chad Peters, Ridgeline operates what he describes as a "hybrid explorer" model, maintaining operational control over exploration activities while securing partner funding across multiple high-potential projects. This approach has enabled the company to deploy an unprecedented $11 million exploration budget in 2025, with only $1.5 million requiring direct company funding. The cornerstone of Ridgeline's strategy lies in its strategic partnerships with major mining companies. Nevada Gold Mines has committed $40 million across two earn-in agreements at the Swift and Blackridge projects, allowing them to earn up to 75% interest while Ridgeline retains 25% fully carried interests through to commercial production. Additionally, South32 Limited has committed $20 million at the Selena project for an 80% earn-in, with Ridgeline maintaining 20% carried interest and operational control that generates management fees.Recent exploration success validates this model's effectiveness. At Selena, drilling has intersected up to 1,200 grams silver equivalent over 6 meters in a carbonate replacement deposit setting, demonstrating significant discovery potential. The Swift project has produced encouraging results with intersections of 10 grams gold over 1.5 meters, confirming the presence of economic-grade mineralization on trend with established mining operations. The staggered timing of partnership agreements creates continuous value catalysts, with Swift entering its fourth year, Blackridge in year three, and Selena beginning year one of their respective earn-in phases. This structure provides multiple opportunities for discovery success while maintaining operational momentum across the portfolio. Peters emphasizes the strategic advantage: "We like the idea of spending other people's money to test some really deep targets on trend of known deposits."Learn more: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/ridgeline-mineralsSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

The Things She Carried: A Cultural History of the Purse in America (Oxford University Press, 2025) reveals how bags, sacks, and purses provided the methods and materials for Americans' activism, allowing carriers to transgress critical boundaries at key moments. Kathleen B.
