Why Is It Called Brand New Day? 为什么叫《崭新之日》？电影还没开始聊，很多人第一眼看到片名时，就已经产生了一个疑问：Brand New Day为什么不用简单的New Day？很多人看到brand，第一反应都是"品牌"。但其实，brand new是英语里一个非常常见的固定搭配，表示"全新的、崭新的"。这里的brand不是品牌，而是起强调作用，相当于completely（完全地）new。比如，你刚买了一个包，就可以开心地说：Look at my brand new purse!“快看我新买的包！”相比单纯的new，brand new更强调“刚刚拥有、崭新无比”的感觉，语气也更强烈。除此之外，它还有一个特别温暖、也特别常见的用法。当今天过得并不顺利时，很多英语母语者都会安慰自己：Tomorrow is a brand new day.“明天又是崭新的一天。”02. More Than Spider-Man 不只是蜘蛛侠，更是Peter Parker《崭新之日》最打动人的地方，并不是某一场惊险刺激的打斗，而是Peter Parker这四年来所经历的成长。为了保护身边的人，Peter主动选择让所有人忘记自己。他原本以为，失去了家人和朋友，就不会再有那些让他变得“脆弱”的东西（what makes him "weak"），也就能够成为一个更好的Spider-Man。然而，现实却远比他想象得更加复杂。It's actually really lonely.四年来，Peter几乎失去了一切。他不能告诉MJ真相，也不能和最好的朋友重新建立联系。曾经最熟悉的人，如今都成了Strangers（陌生人）。也正因为如此，这部电影最让人揪心的地方，不是Villain（反派）有多强，而是Peter所承受的那份loneliness（孤独）。This is probably the most heartbreaking（令人心碎的） part of the entire movie.Peter一直认为，自己的选择能够保护所有人，却没有意识到，这份成长最终付出的代价和经历的internal conflict（内在冲突、内心挣扎），远比想象中更加沉重。电影里有一个非常经典的片段。当“反派”问他：Are you Peter Parker or Spider-Man?Peter坚定地回答：I'm both.这个也是整部电影最重要的转折点。那一刻，他终于意识到，自己既是Spider-Man，也是Peter Parker；真正的英雄，并不是抛弃真实的自己，而是学会接受完整的自己。他开始真正理解love（爱）、relationships（人与人之间的关系），也开始接受自己的vulnerability（脆弱）。过去，他把亲人和朋友看成自己的软肋（what makes him "weak"）；如今，他终于明白，真正给予自己力量的，也正是这些看似让自己“变弱”的人和情感。因此，Spider-Man: Brand New Day最让人惊喜的一点，就是它并没有继续歌颂“孤胆英雄”式的自我牺牲，而是带来了一种崭新的英雄主义。Sometimes, sacrificing yourself for others isn't a grand heroic gesture（为他人牺牲自己并非伟大的英雄行为）. You should also put yourself at the forefront of your priority list（把自己放在人生优先考虑的位置）.很多人认为，责任意味着不断付出、不断牺牲自己。但这部电影却告诉我们：Taking care of yourself is also a responsibility（照顾好自己，同样是一种责任）。成长，并不一定意味着变得无坚不摧；有时候，愿意承认自己的局限，接受自己的脆弱，也是一种成长。Peter最终学会的，并不是如何一个人承担一切，而是明白了：真正完整的Spider-Man，从来都离不开Peter Parker。03. Jackie Chan's Stunt Team 成家班让蜘蛛侠"拳拳到肉"除了剧情之外，《崭新之日》的动作戏（action scenes）同样成为不少观众讨论的焦点。这次电影邀请了成家班参与动作设计。节目中提到，原来我们常说的“成家班”，英语可以说成Jackie Chan's stunt team，其中stunt team就是“特技团队、动作团队”的意思。成家班多年来一直以香港动作电影风格闻名，而这一次，他们也把这种风格带进了蜘蛛侠的世界。The action was choreographed(设计) with the help of Jackie Chan's stunt team.在他们的设计下，这部电影的动作戏少了一些超级英雄电影中常见的夸张特效，多了一份真实感：The fights feel grounded（贴近现实的）, physical（充满力量感的）, and almost acrobatic（如同杂技般灵活的）.相比近年来越来越依赖CGI-heavy action（大量依赖电脑特效的动作场面）的超级英雄电影，《崭新之日》的每一场打斗都显得更加流畅，也更有“拳拳到肉”的质感。不少漫画迷都表示，这一次终于看到了漫画里的Spider-Man真正“动起来”的样子。就连一些对电影剧情持保留意见的观众，也一致认为：The action scenes were the best part of the movie.动作戏是整部电影最大的亮点之一。除了动作设计之外，这次还有一位新演员的加盟让不少影迷感到惊喜。曾在《怪奇物语》（Stranger Things）中饰演Max的Sadie Sink也出现在了这部电影中。She is amazing in the movie!如果你本身就是Sadie Sink的粉丝，那么这部电影绝对值得期待。影片上映后，观众和媒体的评价也相当亮眼。根据知名电影评分网站Rotten Tomatoes（烂番茄）的数据，截至节目录制时，影评人（critics）给出了90%的新鲜度，而观众评分（audience score）更是达到了惊人的98%。其中有一条特别打动人的观众评价："A beautiful movie about mental health, which taught me you don't have to go through life alone."这位观众认为，这不仅是一部超级英雄电影，更是一部关于mental health（心理健康）的电影。它告诉我们，没有人需要独自面对人生，也没有人必须一个人承担所有责任。也许正因为如此，《崭新之日》真正打动观众的，并不仅仅是精彩的动作场面，而是它在英雄故事之外，讲述了一个关于成长、陪伴与自我接纳的故事。04. With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility 能力越大，责任越大Peter曾经努力尝试独自承担一切，认为只有远离家人和朋友，才能真正保护他们。但经历了四年的孤独之后，他终于意识到：doing it alone（独自承担一切）并不是解决问题的方法。蜘蛛侠在电影里说到：I tried, but I can't.（我试过了，但做不到）正如节目中所说，成长并不一定意味着变得越来越坚强，有时候，accepting your own vulnerability（接纳自己的脆弱），也是成长的一部分。Erin也分享了一句特别喜欢的话：Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is admit that you can't do everything alone.有时候，一个人最勇敢、也最强大的时刻，恰恰是承认自己并不能独自完成所有事情。这也让人重新理解了蜘蛛侠系列最经典的一句话：With great power comes great responsibility.我们把它翻译成“能力越大，责任越大”。但《崭新之日》赋予了这句话新的意义。Responsibility doesn't mean isolation（责任并不意味着孤独）.那些你想保护的人，其实也一直在保护着你。The people around you aren't just people you need to protect（你身边的人不仅是你要保护的人）, they're also the ones who protect and give you your power（他们同样会保护你，并给予你力量）.这或许也是《崭新之日》区别于很多超级英雄电影的地方。它没有继续歌颂孤军奋战，也没有把自我牺牲塑造成唯一的英雄主义，而是告诉我们：真正的英雄，不仅有勇气保护别人，也有勇气接受别人的帮助。Being a hero isn't about having superpowers. It's about choosing to do the right thing. Before we had Marvel studios and the MCU there are often three movies credited with reviving the superhero movie genre. Blade, X-Men, and Spider-Man. Well did you know that there was almost a Venom movie in there and could have even released before Spider-Man? It took us until 2018 to finally get a Venom movie which has been very successful despite it's bad reviews, but what would a 1998 Venom movie have been like?
