This Episode, "Good (boy) Mom" a play on the word 'GoodBye' may have you shedding a tear or more. Today we get to learn a little about 5yr old Harper, Benjamin's little brother. Harper has made a declaration regarding Ben's death and it is a punch to the gut. Of course Harper doesn't fully understand the core concept of loss, death and grief but that doesn't exclude him from feeling its effect. Grief ties are not specific to age and Harper is showing us that. Follow me Instagram: A Peace of Grief Facebook: A Peace of Grief Email me: apeaceofgrief@gmail.com I love you for being here.

On today's episode, "Being human isn't about feeling happy. It's about feeling everything." This is an excerpt from one of Sydoney's favorite book UNTAMED by Glennon Doyle, it sums up this episode perfectly well. So much energy is expended into managing our emotions on a daily basis because grief is extremely exhausting. You will leave this episode empowered to feel your shit but not lose your shit! I have to agree that the V word is intimidating and that we do attach weakness to the idea of being vulnerable. I want to do a little bit of shape shifting in today's episode in that I believe Vulnerability can add value. "In living my truth I have to speak that truth, the truth that I know, my truth comes from my experiences. And so, speaking our truth I believe is our role in contributing to our emotional repair. We have to speak truth to fear, speak truth to silence, speak truth to grief and speak truth to the word Vulnerability." - Sydoney You will hear during this episode Sydoney speak about Our role in contributing to our emotional repair How to open up our pain to others How to contend our feelings in times of grief Don't forget to rate & review and follow us on social media @apeaceofgrief This podcast is edited and managed by @ideatolaunch

There's something satisfying about remembering your loved ones and just how the memories come rushing in and kinda comforts you a little bit. We feel the need to talk about them all the time, to keep them in our thoughts but what if others we talk to about our late loved ones get tired of hearing us talking about them all the time? It is our duty to ourselves to protect our peace, our well-being. We need to process deeply what we're feeling. The waves of grief can come crushing in at any time. So, we have to get in the mindset of not being afraid of not being okay. It is okay to say, " I am not okay!" Join me as we continue the journey to healing. Connect with me @apeaceofgrief
This week we are joined by a long time friend Diane. She has been brave enough to share her story that many of us have now heard in the news, but now we can truly understand what it is like to lose multiple family members during this pandemic due to Covid 19. Losing your parents seems like it would be enough for people to sympathize, but NO! Diane speaks on how insensitive others can be and the obstacles that the family has to go through which no one seems to speak of. Join us and take your peace.
When experiencing grief or a traumatic event it is so important to find YOUR PERSON. That person that will be there to listen to you and understand that you will need to lean on them heavily. Sometimes we feel like others cannot handle all of us, but we cannot set limitations on others. Find out how I found my person and leaned into the initial uncomfortable feelings. Can we touch and agree that Purpose is who we are and what we do? In this episode we get a glimpse into how pain bleeds purpose. Regardless of what has caused us grief; grief is not who we are. It's what and how we experience loss. This episode helps us to realize that we can shift our focus and still not harden our hearts.
