Gone Guys explores a “quiet crisis” in our communities, hidden in plain sight: the increasing disengagement and isolation of boys and young men. Set in rural Vermont, this documentary brings national data to life highlighting the struggles faced by boys and young men and sets the stage for a meaningful conversation. Over the past fifty years, boys and young men have steadily disengaged from school, work, and broader society. They're falling behind academically, struggling with loneliness and isolation, and facing rising rates of substance abuse and suicide. This 45-minute documentary draws on the influential work of Richard V. Reeves' “Of Boys and Men”, illuminating these challenges through powerful data and compelling personal stories. Many of us have experienced these issues first-hand, but it can be difficult to talk about them. It's not an either-or choice: caring more about boys and men does not mean caring less about women and girls. The film brings national data to life with engaging animation accompanying lived experience featuring young men, educators, mentors, and trailblazing programs that are working to re-engage boys and young men in their communities and reshape their futures.Website: goneguysfilm.com Support the show

In this preseason interview filmed in Fiji, Tiffany Ervin opens up about her high-stakes return for Survivor 50 and the "carefree" energy she's bringing. Tiffany gets candid about the "mixed" reality of playing with her Season 46 castmates, admitting she has "complicated" feelings toward Charlie after he "stabbed her in the back" during their first run. While she considers Q a close friend in the "real world," she breaks down why history shows a second chance won't change his chaotic gameplay and why she's ready to point the finger elsewhere the moment anyone screams "trio." From her "stone-faced" observations at Ponderosa to her mission to "erase the idol thing" off her resume,Tiffany reveals why she's betting on being underestimated.

A sunrise ride to an apple orchard changed everything for Dr. Gina Fernandez—and it might change how you think about berries. We sit down with the NC State distinguished professor and berry breeder to trace the path from cold-hardy apple rootstocks in Minnesota, to thornless blackberries in Arkansas, to a career defining strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries across the Southeast. Along the way, Gina reveals what makes a cultivar truly stand out: not just yields or firmness, but flavor that keeps people coming back.Gina explains how she first joined NC State to tackle cultural management and methyl bromide alternatives, then stepped into breeding as the program shifted. We dig into the trials that helped launch a North Carolina blackberry industry, why thornlessness and resistance to double blossom were pivotal, and how later threats like orange rust and fusarium reshaped goals. On strawberries, she unpacks the split between shipping acreage and local pick-your-own farms, and more. We also talk about berry varieties Gina and her team have released over the years, specifically the blackberry 'Von' and the raspberry 'Nantahala', as well as the upcoming release of her new blackberry, NC740, to be called 'Ervin'.Beyond genetics, Gina shares how science moved from solo wins to team science, and how she mentors through “Team Rubus” with weekly cadence, trust, and room for students to grow. Expect practical wisdom for early‑career researchers: travel to see different systems, build writing muscle, and collaborate across pathology, entomology, breeding, and economics to solve real grower problems. If you care about berry breeding, flavor, disease resistance, and how ideas become fruit on the table, this conversation delivers a full plate.Additional information is available in these articles: HortScience "'Von" Thornless Blackberry": https://journals.ashs.org/view/journals/hortsci/48/5/article-p654.xml HortScience article, "'Nantahala' Red Raspberry" is available at https://journals.ashs.org/view/journals/hortsci/44/1/article-p25.xmlThere are also many other relevant ASHS Journal articles available here.Enjoy the episode?
In 2014, Stacey Ervin Jr was part of the Michigan men's gymnastics team that won back to back NCAA championships titles. Alongside World championships medalist Sam Mikulak, Stacey Ervin was a key member of the Michigan gymnastics program under head coach Kurt Golder throughout the 2016 Olympic cycle. Stacey Excelled on the floor exercise winning fifteen event finals on the apparatus during his collegiate career including National honours at the US championships. Tragically Stacey's mother passed away just before he started University but ultimately his dedication to the sport is what helped him manage his grief and find a way to keep moving forwards. Since retiring from gymnastics Stacey spent time coaching men's gymnastics, had a contract with the WWE and is now personal trainer. And this is his story.
Here is another of our favorite interviews from 2025 .... with Kevin Ervin, co-owner of Frank's Diner, one of the most famous eating establishments in southeastern Wisconsin- the longest continuously-operating diner in the state- which last year celebrated its 99th anniversary of operation. (But it should have been its 100th anniversary. The story behind that is just one of the things we talk about in this interview.).
In this powerful episode of From Beer to the Bible, guest hosts Jerry Dale and Chris McMullen share raw, honest testimonies about pornography, sexual addiction, and the hidden cost of living a double life. Burn the Ships is a call to radical trust—a moment to leave behind not just what weighs us down, but what we've secretly trusted more than God. On Shredder Sunday, we confront both the weights that crush us and the sin that trips us up, naming the fears, reports, patterns, and beliefs that have kept us stuck. Through Scripture and personal testimony, this message reveals a consistent biblical truth: God's calling always requires leaving something behind before clarity ever comes. As we step into a new year, the question isn't whether we trust God—but what we're finally willing to surrender so we can truly run free.

Are you in a season where God is cutting things back—relationships, opportunities, plans you thought were His will? You're not alone. This message reveals the surprising truth Jesus taught in John 15: God prunes not because you're failing, but because you're fruitful. In this sermon, Morgan shares a raw personal testimony of fasting, breakthrough, and unexpected loss—followed by the revelation that pruning is God's preparation for multiplication. What does a French bulldog, a rescue mutt, and the fear of the Lord have in common? In this message, Ps. Morgan shares how true peace doesn't come from control but from surrender. Drawing from personal stories, Proverbs, and the Gospel of Matthew, he reveals that consistency creates security and that the “fear of the Lord” isn't terror—it's healthy attachment. When we let God be Master, our souls find rest, our chaos quiets, and our lives begin to flourish. This message will challenge you to stop guarding your empty bowl, stop living like a rescue dog, and start living like a beloved son or daughter.

Throughout our Christian life, God will invite us into greater levels of transformation and growth. His invitations will always be filled with grace and truth, and lead us to the heart of the Father to lead a life that is the abundant life He promised in His word. Ps. Jenny unpacks four different powerful invitations we will receive in our Christian walk.
If you've felt overwhelmed by headlines, false prophecies, or social media fear, this message will reset your focus. Learn why every generation has predicted the end — and why Jesus told us to watch, not worry. Stop doom scrolling. Start running your race. Discover how to run with endurance (Hebrews 12), how the Church fuels courage, and how to live ready and radiant until He returns. Perfect for anyone wrestling with anxiety, prophecy confusion, or wanting to live on mission in chaotic times. Every generation has thought it's living in “the end.” Earthquakes, wars, political chaos — since the crucificion and resurrection of Jesus, it's always felt like the last days. But Jesus said, “It's not for you to know the times or seasons… but you shall receive power.” (Acts 1:7–8) End-times panic paralyzes; Christ calls us to mission. Don't hide in fear or build bunkers. Fix your eyes on Jesus, fuel up with faith and community, and live bold, light-filled lives that save souls and change culture while we wait. Showtime isn't shutdown time — it's go time.
