(Yeremia 17:8)Renungan: Jika kita melihat sebatang pohon, biasanya terdiri dari akar, batang pohon, ranting, daun, bunga, bahkan buah. Buah memiliki musim tertentu. Jika belum musimnya, buah tidak akan terlihat. Demikian juga halnya dengan bunga atau daun yang bisa rontok, bahkan gundul. Ranting juga bisa jadi kering dan jatuh. Seolah ada musim-musim tertentu ketika ranting, daun, bunga, maupun buah "bekerja", tapi ada waktunya bagi mereka untuk "cuti kerja". Bagian pohon yang tidak pernah berhenti bekerja adalah akar! Akar memang tidak terlihat, tapi justru akar inilah yang menjaga kelangsungan sebatang pohon. Kita boleh memotong ranting, dahan, bahkan batang pohon, tapi selama masih ada akar maka pohon tersebut tetap hidup. Akar akan terus bekerja tanpa kenal musim. Akarlah yang menumbuhkan tunas-tunas baru pada waktunya. Tipe orang itu ada macam-macam. Ada yang NATO, No Action Talk Only. Tipe ini bicaranya lantang, tapi tidak ada tindakan sama sekali. Omong doang! Ada juga tipe daun, memang dia bekerja tapi gampang sekali rontok kalau ada goncangan. Ada tipe yang menonjol dalam bekerja tapi tidak konsisten. Ibarat pohon, maka orang tipe ini adalah bunga atau buah, berkontribusi tapi waktu-waktu tertentu saja. Yang paling bagus adalah tipe akar. Tidak banyak omong, tidak koar-koar, tapi bekerja terus tiada henti. Tidak banyak janji, tapi memberi bukti. Tidak terlihat tapi sangat berkontribusi, bahkan berpengaruh besar pada kelangsungan perusahaan, komunitas atau pelayanan. Terus terang, pekerja tipe akar ini hanya sedikit, bahkan langka. Di dalam sebuah instansi, perusahaan, komunitas, organisasi, bahkan pelayanan, semoga kita adalah orang-orang tipe akar. Tak banyak bicara tapi hasil terlihat jelas. Firman Tuhan dalam Yeremia 17:8 berkata, "la akan seperti pohon yang ditanam di tepi air, yang merambatkan akar-akarnya ke tepi batang air, dan yang tidak mengalami datangnya panas terik, yang daunnya tetap hijau, yang tidak khawatir dalam tahun kering, dan yang tidak berhenti menghasilkan buah."
