Day 1,571.In what could prove one of the most consequential weeks of the year for international diplomacy, Francis and Dom assess what a ceasefire in Iran might mean for the war – and whether it could help unlock a pathway towards peace after another bloody weekend in which a Russian attack left one of Kyiv's most historic cathedrals in flames. They also examine the significance of British Royal Marines boarding and seizing a Russian shadow fleet tanker, and report the latest on Ukraine's EU negotiations as formal accession talks kick off today. Finally, Dom considers the sweeping military reforms now being undertaken by Kyiv that could have profound consequences for Ukraine's armed forces and those fighting on the frontline.Contributors:Francis Dearnley (Host on Ukraine: The Latest). @FrancisDearnley on X.Dominic Nicholls (Host on Ukraine: The Latest). @DomNicholls on X.Producer: Rachel PorterSenior Producer: Lilian FawcettVideo Producer: Sophie O'SullivanSocial Producer: Tom SteedStudio Director: James EnglandExecutive Editor: Francis DearnleyCreated by David KnowlesNOW IN FULL VIDEO WITH MAPS & BATTLEFIELD FOOTAGE:Every episode is now available on our YouTube channel shortly after the release of the audio version. Episode: 1583 Glide Bombs and the unrevealed Rohna disaster. Today, the weapon we didn't know about.
What happens to the earth when we wage war? Dr. Lesley Joseph - environmental engineer, scholar of environmental justice, and author of the forthcoming book War Crimes Against the Earth - joins Sabrina Jacobs, host of The Rude Awakening on 94.1 KPFA, to answer that question with chilling clarity.A Rude Awakening is an award-winning climate crisis and environmental justice radio show based in Berkeley, CA, and on this episode, Dr. Joseph breaks down how modern warfare has become a deliberate assault on the environments people depend on to live. From Iran's oil infrastructure bombed into acid rain, to Gaza's destroyed water systems poisoning the Mediterranean, to the forever chemicals leaking from military bases worldwide, he traces the arc of destruction that doesn't stop at borders. Drawing on his New Lines magazine piece, “The Toxic Blowback of Israel's Bombs,” he shows how perchlorates, asbestos, untreated sewage, and carbon emissions from war travel far beyond conflict zones, affecting everyone on the planet. But this isn't just a scientific accounting. Dr. Joseph centers the communities on the frontlines of this violence - those already vulnerable, already marginalized - and asks a question that cuts through the noise: If we're serious about climate justice, why aren't we talking about the military industrial complex? This is an important conversation for anyone who believes that peace and environmental justice are inseparable.References: Listen to A Rude Awakening on 94.1 KPFA"The Toxic Blowback of Israel's Bombs" - New Lines MagazineBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-environmental-justice-lab--5583745/support.Don't forget to subscribe and rate the podcast wherever you listen! The Tim Conway Jr. Show Hour 1 (6.3) This year marks 30 years that Tim Conway Jr. has been on the radio! The one piece of advice he has for longevity? Make sure the high-speed police chase doesn’t start until after 6 p.m. — because apparently, we’re all 90 now and need to catch it during the early bird special. Timmy also got a little emotional last night watching Spencer Pratt doing surprisingly well in the mayoral primary. Atta boy, Spencer! Ballots are still being counted, printed in 18 different languages — EIGHTEEN! — with sniffer dogs on patrol looking for any funny business. Yesterday we had another hostage situation in Bakersfield. Is “Bakersfield” Spanish for hostage situation? Great place to raise kids, by the way. The guy had fake bombs strapped to his chest… because of course he did. And in health news, new research says GLP-1 drugs might cut breast cancer risk by about 30%. What’s going on there? Also, are we still allowed to say the word “obese,” or is that canceled too? The fragile ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Lebanese government is overshadowed by an already notorious phone call where Donald Trump reportedly dropped multiple F-bombs on Benjamin Netanyahu for threatening Israeli strikes on Beirut. Yonit and Jonathan dissect the increasing strain in the US-Israel relationship - and a new equation set by Iran that will alarm all Israelis. Meanwhile, two warning signs this week for the state of Israeli democracy, as Netanyahu appoints his personal lawyer as State Comptroller, with members of the Knesset pressured to reveal their secret ballot - and a mob vandalizes the home of a Supreme Court justice in a bid to intimidate the judiciary over demands to exempt the ultra-Orthodox from mandatory military service. Also - an inquiry into antisemitism in UK's cherished NHS, while Canada's PM admits the country failed its Jews, prompting a new advisory council with a questionable membership. And finally (and thankfully), it's a crowded field for our mensch of the week award. 00:00 Introduction and Overview of Current Events 02:47 The Impact of Smartphones on Society 05:38 Ceasefire Agreements and Regional Tensions 09:22 US-Israel Relations and Political Dynamics 13:13 Political Appointments and Democratic Erosion in Israel 18:50 Judicial Intimidation and the Rule of Law 23:02 Global Anti-Semitism and Responses 29:35 Celebrating Women in Film: Helen Mirren and Emma Thompson 35:17 A Culinary Milestone: Mutra's Michelin Star

Is Donald Trump waiting until after the World Cup to restart the war with Iran despite the largest attack on the Gulf since the ceasefire began?Violence erupted overnight in the Middle East after the US attacked a ship heading to Iran and Tehran fired missiles and drones at Kuwait and Bahrain. Roland Oliphant looks at the latest news of clashes in the Persian Gulf and speaks to Maziar Bahari, founder of Iran Wire, about why the war is unlikely to erupt until after the World Cup. One of Iran's most experienced journalists until he was forced into exile, Bahari's English and Persian website has become an invaluable source of reliable information for anyone interested following the war. He explains why the Iranian regime is weaker than most think and shares his experiences of being interrogated by IRGC officials who rely on pornography to understand the Western world. Plus, global health security editor Paul Nuki explains why Israelis can't ignore Donald Trump's explosive reported warning to leader Benjamin Netanyahu that the world is starting to hate his country due its military activity.HighlightsIran strikes Kuwait airport after US bombs Qeshm IslandWhy IRGC officers believe the West is just like in porn filmsCONTRIBUTORS:Roland Oliphant, chief foreign analyst, @rolandoliphantMaziar Bahari, founder of Iran Wire, @maziarbahari Paul Nuki, global health security editor, @PaulNukiCONTENT REFERENCED:Paul Nuki: Trump outburst reflects Israel's sinking popularity in American eyeshttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2026/06/02/trump-netanyahu-outburst-reflects-israel-unpopularity/Producer: Peter ShevlinExecutive Producers: Venetia Rainey & Louisa Wells► Sign up to our most popular newsletter, From the Editor. Despite ceasefire talks, the war between Iran and the US appears to be heating up again. Iran and the US have exchanged blows, potentially jeopardizing the ceasefire. While it seems that much of the world is happy to see Iran remain in power and continue terrorizing the region, President Trump thankfully isn't. Further complicating matters is the fact that Iran's president just tried to resign - again. This resignation attempt signals a collapsing chain of command within Iran, which makes you wonder if the people Trump is negotiating with actually have any real power in the government anymore. Bitcoin just collapsed to a 5-week low under $74,000 as fresh U.S. airstrikes on Iran reignited Middle East tensions and U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs hemorrhaged cash — with BlackRock's IBIT alone shedding $528 million in a single day, its 2nd-largest outflow ever, while the 2-week ETF bleed has now crossed $2 billion. Add $1 billion in long liquidations, oil ripping toward $100, the CLARITY Act stalling in Congress, and a stunning CFTC reversal admitting it weaponized crypto enforcement against Gemini — and today's setup is the most fragile crypto has looked in months. We break down what's actually driving the selloff, what could trigger the next leg down, and whether there's any catalyst left that can stop it. Learn more about your ad choices. The Patriotically Correct Radio Show with Stew Peters | #PCRadio
Memorial Day weekend ends and Trump's government immediately launches fresh strikes on southern Iran. Not self-defense. Pure Israeli orders to expand Greater Israel, shove Gulf states into the Abraham Accords, and finish off the Palestinians while American blood pays the bill. The Iran war just triggered the final domino. The Strait of Hormuz is sealed tight, every oil tanker has vanished from the route, and strategic reserves are running dry while prices explode. Jeff Berwick joins Stew to rip the mask off this satanic depopulation agenda.
