In this episode I recount my last year and how my relationship with spirituality has changed and why.
Hey guys, first of all, I wanted to apologise for the weird clicky noise that is happening in the background. It may be because I was holding the mic in bed and didn't have the black fuzzy muffler on the top (can you tell I'm a pro sound person - technician??). Anyway, here you will find the links I promised and some of my gratitude for stopping by and reading this section!! Speak to you soon!
It's been a while, but let's take this time to reflect on the year passed and on what's coming up. I thoroughly disagree with the sentiment of new year, new me and in this episode, I'm going to explore why that is and why I don't believe in change at all costs.
This months episode is about Global Story - more specifically western story. I recorded this episode over a month ago, so just to let you know, I did make it to my lecture and no, I did not fall asleep before hand. I have made it to all of my lectures so far this year, in case anyone cares.
In this episode of Big Thoughts from a Small Speck I explore societal story and the stories we tell about ourselves and others. The audio of this episode is very raw, I still don't have a proper area to record atm, but hopefully that will change come September!
In this weeks episode I continue to explore the meaning of story to the human race and what exactly is meant by personal story. Note - Audio is once again a bit up and down, hopefully that will improve once I get used to recording from my bed at midnight haha.
In this episode, I look at the difficulties of being a creative and the importance of story to humanity. Also the audio quality dips in the second half, just a cheeky heads up.! The Carrier Bag Theory by Ursula K. Le Guin: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/ursula-k-le-guin-the-carrier-bag-theory-of-fiction
In this weeks episode I explore hustle culture and the downsides it possesses (which are a lot).
This weeks episode is about body neutrality. I will be exploring this anti-diet movement from the perspective of someone who is generally the target of diet culture aka I'm fat. I sound a bit like an organ dealer and the sound quality is all over the place, but I felt this was an important episode to get up, even if it is a week late...
I have an extremely short episode for you this week. Mental health is an extremely complex and sensitive subject and I hope to do it more/better justice in the future. List of services (UK): Samaritans. Telephone: 116 123 (24 hours a day, free to call) CALM Phone: 0800 58 58 58 (daily, 5pm to midnight) Mind Phone: 0300 123 3393 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm) OCD UK Phone: 0333 212 7890 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)
This week I take a look at the horrors of the English education system and the fact that it causes people burn out into their university years. Also I'm mad at the government, but that's not new.
This week I will be discussing and getting angry over social constructs. Also the audio sounds crispy fresh.
