Oh, dear, we're poised to be misunderstood with this one... First of all, welcome. But not VERY welcome. Then: The concept of Artificial Intelligience has given us some Big Thoughts--linking back to controversial topics that have landed us in trouble before. Are there creatures walking around who LOOK like "humans," but are actually soul-less...and therefore NOT "people?" This question understandably makes Luke very uncomfortable, and we spend most of the episode trying to make him feel better. But eventually, we get to the point: that AI isn't human, and we've found a new way to make it tell hilarious jokes...but only when it's not "trying." Katherine's Telling Everybody Everything about missing the Superbowl for a weekend of shows in Cardiff and Madrid. We have BIG THOUGHTS about the stadium entrance fashion and wonder whether Serena Williams was doing a loaded 'crip walk' or just for fun. Armie Hammer is nice, isn't he? Also, the Kardashians are back with a moving first episode where Khloe sees Lamar after nine years apart. Would you like to see these two back together or do you think Lamar has lost the love of his life for good? Drug dependence is a terrible, terrible thing. Plus, WOAH what are we going to do about a listener who writes in about being cheated on by her boyfriend of TEN ACTUAL YEARS, then discovering he's been playing several women all along. x Hosted on Acast. Baby, it's been a week in Trump's America, and we've got thoughts. From DEI programs getting the boot to a bishop (SUPPOSEDLY) stirring up drama, and even rumors of a third term—what is happening?! Plus, we dive into the most random tea (ALLEGEDLY, ALLEGEDLY!!) about a former front man of a Christian rock band. Meanwhile, is Beyoncé about to drop some news or just playing with us? We dive into the 2025 Grammy predictions and lock in our own, unpack the Oscars nomination chaos, and gag over the latest twists in Traitors. It's all tea, shade, and we are keepin' it real this week. Don't miss it, besties!

Hey, Hey, Hey Bookshelvers! You find us feeling as focused as a sincere sighthound silently stalking a stag! Why you ask? Well it's all to do with this amazing conversation we've had with Professor Carri Westgarth. To say we're excited to share it with you is, one heck of, an understatement. We really do cover VAST number of topics including some difficult subjects like: fatalities from dog bites, breed bans and how to increase public safety. On top of that we discuss both of Carri's books (The Happy Dog Owner & Dogs Bites), Dave the virtual dog and the endless possibilities he brings and much, much more. Steve also goes solo with the intro and outro this week AND reads an exclusive audio version of a piece he wrote that fits with the general tone of todays conversation. So pop that kettle on and immerse yourself in dog geekery for a couple of hours.Carri Facts:Professor Carri Westgarth is Chair in Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Liverpool with a passion for understanding the relationships we have with our pets. With a background in animal behaviour and dog training she has trained in veterinary epidemiology and human public health. Her research interests focus on the implications of dog ownership for human health and wellbeing, but also how owner management of their dogs can impact dog welfare. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods are used to tackle her primary research questions of how to improve population health through the promotion of dog walking, and how to prevent dog bites. Her expertise on understanding and changing the behaviour of dog owners is sought by many organisations wishing to prevent dog bites and promote ‘responsible' dog owner behaviour, such as her work as a consultant for Royal Mail. She is also a Full Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors and founder of the Merseyside Dog Safety Partnership. In her spare time Carri teaches dog training classes, and previously was a professional Assistance Dog Instructor. Her practical experience in many areas relating to dogs, combined with a multi-disciplinary academic perspective, gives unique strength and relevance to her expertise.Links:The Merseyside Dog Safety PartnershipBuy "The Happy Dog Owner" on AmazonBuy "Dog Bites" on AmazonSubscribe to receive a weekly PACT LUNCHDOGx Tickets
The Minnesota Timberwolves accomplished one of the greatest comebacks in playoff history yesterday coming back from down 20 to beat the Nuggets in Denver and move on to the second round. The OKC-Mavs series has also been decided, and Chet Holmgren's 3PT shooting and rebounding helped lead to the Thunder's Demise. The Pacers vs Celtics looks like a 3-point shooting barrage, but still a series that Indiana will struggle to make competitive. Our family spent several hours sharing Big Thoughts after church (before we started recording), so now we're ready to just shoot the breeze... Join us for this lighthearted chat. Why does Luke like spaghetti--but not lasagna? How many clothes can be squeezed into a standard washing machine? John gives an update on his landscaping projects. (Spoiler: John is turning into an old man before our very eyes.) And--hey look--a rabbit in the yard! Should we talk about Richard Dawkins being a "cultural Christian?" Meh. Too serious. Let's not. See, Neighbor, not EVERY conversation deep and convicting. (Oh, now Luke's parents are dropping off some patio furniture!) The way this episode unfolded was in preparation for surgery. I sat down at the microphone and just talked. There are three elements to this that I want to share. I want to recognize that this is a difficult time of year for many people. We need to have empathy for those around us who are lonely this Christmas. I then went on to discuss the fakery of the Christmas story. If the Christmas story is fake, it is exactly the wrong way to create a fake god, but of course, the Christmas story is a fact. And, in conclusion, I ask the question, “How do you want to be remembered in a time of battle?”. I ask because we are in that time. What does God's Word say? Luke 2:1010 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. Ohio farmer Stephen Mackell talks with podcast host Lisa Munniksma about microgreens, actually sustainable (profitable!) small-scale farming and food access. Hear about how Stephen found his passion for farming through the magic of starting seeds. Learn about the Mission of Mary Cooperative Farm in Dayton, Ohio, where Stephen started out as a volunteer farm manager and went on to build their community programs for nine years. Stephen explains how the farm came to financially sustain itself with a two-tier CSA being grown on six empty housing lots and eight homemade caterpillar tunnels and greenhouses. He also talks about other food-access programs, including an after-school program that eventually led to food production for the school salad bar and a program to help 100 neighbors start their own gardens. Get to know Stephen's 1/2-acre Greentable Gardens in Xenia, Ohio, where he and one part-time employee serve a 90-member microgreens, salad and full-vegetable CSA. Learn how Stephen got his garden beds established from lawn to permanent raised beds, including the installation of drainage tiles. Stephen talks about his farming and business efficiencies—hint: microgreens are a year-round, stable source of income—and his farm's niche as a USDA Certified Organic home-delivery CSA. Get Stephen's advice for growing microgreens yourself, too. Hear about how Stephen, as a college student, was inspired to start a curbside-collection compost subscription company, which he then sold. It's still in business today! Greentable Gardens on Instagram Greentable Gardens on Facebook Greentable Gardens website

Sometimes it's easy to forget that we serve a big God and we limit ourselves because of life's circumstances. In this first message of the series Big God, we're reminded that God's thoughts and his plans are so much greater than ours. God's "yes" for your life is so much bigger than anyone else's "no."

She is attracted to the healing professions but is unsure how to move forward. Tierney is at a crossroads. She has had a 25-year satisfying career in construction sales and in the last 7-years has leaned into her artist self building a beautiful small business as a natural dyer.
