46 skaters have opened up about their experiences on and off the board on a podcast that I still can't believe made it through - 21 episodes, 839 minutes, 12 months and was streamed in 39 countries. So, in turn, I thought that I would open up a bit to all of you. This episode is a little intense, but I'm happy I've said what I said - it's all part of the process. To all of you who have steamed, told a friend to stream, liked a post, travelled to the studio and made the project what it is - there isn't a way I can thank you enough physically or mentally. Sobriety is spoken about more and more these days, but, from my experience, even more within the skate community. We want to create a place for people to openly or anonymously tell their stories about addiction, sobriety and the road ahead. It's a cliche, but to read someone's story has a significant chance of affecting someone's life - you don't have to be famous to do this. January can be a challenging time for many people battling, discovering or identifying their own issues and or relationships with substance abuse. Each year the skateboarding community becomes more and more open (in comparison to a lot of other sports) about addiction and sobriety. Kingston DIY is one of Scotland's most popular DIY parks. Based under a motorway, the project has grown in popularity each month, with the pandemic spearheading it on social media. Three of the people behind it join us today for an in-depth look at how Kingston came to be. Roan, Tam and Stu talk about the project's beginnings and the project's future, and we're asking all of your questions about the DIY and getting the full story of how it came to be the place we all recognise and love to skate today.
