Having a Bold Faith can make a huge kingdom impact. How we resond to Jesus' command to "Feed Them" helps us understand our faith.
Giving is not about money. It is about hearing God's call to mission, and responding not with timidity, but boldness.
You have a name, more powerful than any other name you have been given. That name is: "Child of God."
"Christian" means "little Christ." We carry that name with great responsibility and weight
A name is a powerful thing. It can change the course of a life. It can come to define a person, or the person can define the name. What do you want people to think of when they hear your name?
We were not "set apart," raised up above everyone else by virtue of our faith. We are those who have been called out - we have the responsibility and the power to show the least, the last, and the loneliest of the world the love of Jesus
Being in worship isn't about the nuts and bolts of the experience. It isn't about the way the music sounded or whether you agreed with the message. It isn't about your horizontal relationships - the relationship with those around you. It is about your vertical relationship - about you communing with God, praising him, and feeling his presence.
Being a part of the Church of Christ means constantly looking to grow in your faith. It means being open to experiences and learning from all those around you. It means reading and praying and worshiping with an open heart
Evangelizing is akward. We know it. But God asks us to boldly go into awkward situations for him. God asks us to be uncomfortable for him. And he tells us that we will never be alone doing it - the Holy Spirit is right there with us.
The Catholics don't say it. Mark left it out. So where does this piece of the prayer come from, and why is it important?
When “lead us not into temptation” becomes “lead us, not into temptation,” the whole meaning shifts. We’re not asking God to stop tempting us - we’re asking him to lead us back out of it once we’re already in it.
The Holy Spirit has a funny way of giving each of us exactly what we need, even if we didn't know that we needed it at the time.
"Our Father." The opening lines of the Lord's Prayer. The next time you pray, ask yourself: "why do I really pray? Who is in charge of my life? Is it me? Or is it god?"
The story doesn't end when you mess up, when you fail or stumble or mess up. Because Jesus didn't just die, he was resurrected in forgiveness of our sins. He died so that you can get back up again when you stumble - because God wants to use every single one of us.
"I no longer hold god responsible for illnesses or accidents or natural disasters, because I realize I gain very little, and I lose so much when I blame god for those things. You see, I can worship a God who hates suffering but cannot eliminate it more easily than I can worship a god who chooses to make children suffer and die for whatever exalted reason."
Why didn't God answer my prayer? It may sound cliche, but he IS listening - just maybe not responding the way we would want. Psalm 22:1-11 is an amazing example of a back-and-forth prayer where the head and the heart are not on the same page. But they come together in the end, finding an acceptance of God's will. Only when the heart and the mind work together can we begin to get in sync with God - because he is, in fact, listening.
One question so many people ask is: "why don't I always feel the presence of God?" But that's not very fair. God is all around us, broadcasting his presence to us in a thousand different ways. Sometimes, we're just not tuned to it. We're an old-school TV with a wobbly antenna. So instead of asking "why isn't God's signal coming through," try asking "am I tuned to God?"
Broadly speaking, people can be sorted into two categories. The first type are people who come to church for the "life tips." People who think that the sermons can be useful on the margins, but ultimately their lives are doing just fine. Mary Magdalene is the second type of person, the kind who knows they've got baggage and problems and that life, frankly, is messy. It's always messy, almost by definition. And that mess was her motivation - she never forgot how Jesus changed her life, and used that as fuel for her faith.
Samson came here to do two things: drink wine and impress the ladies. And he already drank all the wine. Now, to be clear, that wasn't God's plan for him, and God's patience for him ran out real quick. But God never left him, never abandoned him. He was just waiting for Samson to notice. Hopefully you and I don't have to get our eyes gouged out to learn that lesson.
Let's see if you can follow this: Jesus came to us from the line of King David, the one and only. But David's grandmother was Rahab, who was.... well, she came from a different walk of life, shall we say. Rahab was a pagan prostitute living in Jericho. But she listened when God called, and she didn't let her past get in the way of her future. Talk about a transformation story.
Gideon was a nobody, the weakest man in the weakest tribe of Israel. But if we can learn to live as God wants, and serve as he asks, then just like Gideon, we can become superheroes for Christ
We all benefit when the faith of young people is encouraged and grown. So what steps can we take today, tomorrow, to say to young people "we are here for you?"
This week, we turn our eyes to preparation. Because even King Solomon, the wisest man on earth, had troubles with it. But God wants us to be ready when change comes a-knocking. So what are we to do when things don't go how we expected?
Everyone needs wise counsel - even King Solomon
It's easy to get motion sick when changes come into our lives. But with God as our anchor, we can ride any wave
Few things in life are easy, and even fewer come without stress. Life changes are no exception. So what does the bible tell us about handling that stress?
This was the day when Jesus gave the disciples their mandate. This was the night our lord was betrayed.
We only know the resurrection, we only have the church today, because of the witnesses that have preceeded us. God calls all of us to be that witness to the next generation

Why does "Evangelism" have to be such a dirty word? Pastor Rob Rose explores what it actually takes to spread the word of God, and why people feel so uncomfortable doing it

We know not all chains are made of steel. "Unchained" is a look at gaining the spiritual strength to break the chains that bind us from becoming who we were meant to be. Based on the New Testament book of Philippians, written by the great spiritual champion Paul while himself bound in actual chains, "Unchained" will explore how to overcome whatever circumstances we face in order to live unbound lives.

Each new year is a time for a fresh start. We resolve to finally go to the gym, get our finances in order, stop procrastinating or start reading our Bible. We resolve to make this year different. By February most of us have forgotten our goals. Maybe it’s time to look at the bigger picture so we can experience true change.
