Finishing this study of eternal judgment, Derek reveals how Israel will be judged for their disobedience and unfaithfulness to God, but that they will be saved when they recognize Jesus as their Messiah. The Gentile nations will then be finally dealt with for their part in dividing up Israel's land.

Derek looks at the Parable of the Talents today by going through what each person was given and how the talents were invested and what rewards were given. He notes that God gives talents according to what He knows you can do with them. Believe in the trust He has in you. You can use those talents for Him—don't hide them away.

Derek notes that he is not talking about a judgment of condemnation for the believer in Christ, but that which looks at the service we have offered to Jesus during our lives on earth. Derek begins by looking at two parables concerning our faithfulness to use what God has given us.

Today we look at three remaining principles or reasons for God's judgment when appearing before Him. Derek then lists five main features of the judgment before Christ for believers. This will be a personal, individual assessment of the service of our lives, but without condemnation.

Derek begins this study of eternal judgment by first distinguishing between judgments that take place in historical settings, and eternal judgment that will confront us as we step out of time into eternity. He then begins a look at five principles of God's Judgment.

Today Derek concludes this theme of the resurrection of the dead by explaining the importance of Christ's resurrection. He points out that our own resurrection is the completion of our redemption. Jesus died for the whole person. His salvation includes spirit, soul, and body, and that salvation is not complete until we have been resurrected and are again with Him.

Derek looks at several Scriptures that prophesy the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. These prophets witnessed these events hundreds of years before they happened. Then Derek gives us a list of witnesses still alive after the resurrection of Jesus. The whole history of the universe revolves around this resurrection of Jesus.

Today's study looks more at five specific changes that will happen when we put on our glorified bodies. We will have a spiritual body, controlled by the Spirit and not led by the human soul. In weakness our bodies are sown, but in power they will be raised.

Derek explains here how the resurrection of Jesus impacted man's spirit, soul, and body. As the church, we are Christ's body and so we are partakers of His resurrection. We will have glorious bodies just like His. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself just as Jesus is pure.

Derek begins this study of the resurrection by first defining what it is. He then looks at what happened at death to the spirit, soul, and body of those who died before Jesus was resurrected. Keep in mind that the death and resurrection of Jesus produced a change in the universe. It was the most decisive event in history, and it affected what happened to those who died.

Concluding this week's study, Derek finishes his outline of events after Christ's return. This includes the establishment of Jesus' kingdom on earth, the final judgment of the nations, and the coming of the new heaven and earth.

Derek explains the meaning of rapture as it concerns Christians when Jesus returns. Each of us will be judged. This will not be a judgment of condemnation but to assess the quality of our service and to give the appropriate rewards. Then Derek takes a look at the final overthrow of the antichrist.

Derek looks at end-time prophecies, showing us that though the world gets darker, our rest and our confidence must be in the Lord. We must endure. The church Jesus wants will not be deterred by opposition or persecution. It is committed to Him, His purposes and His tasks.

Today Derek outlines the importance of biblical prophecy as light for us in this dark world. He stresses the importance for us to pay attention to what Scripture says, and get to know what God has revealed and wants us to understand. Then we must obey and act on these words.

Derek begins this study noting that time is something we are passing through; the things we experience here in this life are but for a moment. One day we will pass out of time into eternity which is our permanent, ultimate reality. What we do here and now will affect who we are in eternity.

Derek finishes this study of transmitting God's power by looking at Paul's letter to Timothy, reminding him of the gift he received when the elders laid their hands on him. Prophecies were made over Timothy, and Paul encourages him to wage war with them. Derek then deals with dangers and safeguards concerning the laying on of hands.

Today Derek shares with us examples from the New Testament church of how the laying on of hands was used to send out apostles and appoint local church elders. The purpose is to transmit authority and to set them apart, by endorsing and equipping someone for service.

Derek uses Scriptures to show how people received the Holy Spirit by others laying their hands on them. He then goes on to look at the apostles' commissioning men to serve in the Jerusalem church by the laying on of hands. By this act, they became administrators, and servants of all.

Today Derek looks at Old Testament examples of how authority or wisdom was transmitted by a laying on of hands. Then, looking in the New Testament, we see laying on of hands used for healing. Derek makes some interesting observations concerning praying for healing for unbelievers and for believers.

Derek begins this week's study of transmitting God's power by looking at the spiritual purposes of laying hands on someone. For example, it is used to transmit blessings—such as authority, wisdom, the Holy Spirit, or a spiritual gift or ministry. Secondly, it is used to commission someone for an area of service.

Derek finishes this week's look at immersion in the Spirit by leading you in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He lists seven requirements for receiving and then invites you to receive. Then you can share with others, so they too can be blessed!

In today's study Derek makes clear to us that in one Spirit we, as believers, have been baptized into one body and made to drink from one Spirit. The key word emphasized is one, and points to unity in the body of Christ—all believers being members of one body, without division.

Derek looks at two ways the Holy Spirit is administered in the New Testament: direct from heaven and by the laying on of hands. The message of the gospel is supernatural—it is power from on high, brought to us in signs and wonders wrought by the Holy Spirit.

Today Derek continues by showing how the baptism in the Holy Spirit places a seal on us marking us as God's possession, which is demonstrated by speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives you to speak. Using Scripture, he shows us how speaking in tongues was the proof that the apostles used to identify believers who were baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Derek begins this week's study of the baptism (or immersion) in the Holy Spirit with a look at the word of prophecy. Who would do this? In all four gospels, John the Baptist identified Jesus as He who would baptize in the Holy Spirit. Derek then explains what this baptism entails. It is through an individual infilling—resulting in a supernatural outflow.

Derek finishes his look at water baptism by sharing about the spiritual significance of our identification with Jesus in this act of obedience. Going down into the water and coming back up is so much more than just getting wet. It accomplishes things in the Spirit realm for us as we act in faith.

Derek looks at baptisms in Acts to show that it should not take an extended period of teaching before a person is baptized. He actually points out that there seemed to be an immediacy for the new believer to be baptized. He also shows that baptism in water and baptism in the Holy Spirit can occur in any order.

Today Derek goes into what is required of us as believers to be baptized in water, and what it means in our lives. Christian baptism is much more than just getting wet, and Derek stresses the importance of understanding all that is involved. According to Derek, Jesus never offered any guarantee of salvation to those who believe without being baptized.

Derek continues this look at John's baptism into repentance pointing out the need for confession of sins and an evidence of a changed life. These are necessary for a truly repentant life. This baptism in water was a seal of what had been worked in their lives previously.

Derek begins this week's study on the teaching about baptisms highlighting that it this word is plural. Actually, there are three baptisms. The first is the baptism of John the Baptist, which Derek notes has three requirements, the first being repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Derek finishes this week's study of faith and works by looking at the only righteous requirement of the law. That is love—and is the objective in the Christian life. Love must be the motivation behind all we do and say as we continue to grow. Since your faith is accounted to you for righteousness, there is no guilt or condemnation, though you may stumble in your love walk. You are now free in Christ.

Today we look at the problem of those who have received the grace of God through Christ, but then try to keep their righteous standing through works. Derek uses the book of Galatians to show how legalism had come into the church. Then he stresses that the Holy Spirit is received by faith, not by works.

Derek addresses the problem of trying to live halfway between rules and grace, and shows there is no way for that to happen. Keeping a set of rules will never make you righteous. Through Romans, Derek explains that when we are alive in Jesus we have died to the law and it no longer has rule over us.

Today Derek talks about. There is a difference between what the law would have you do—although you can't—and how grace has been provided to help you. The Law is needed to get you to the point where you see your need for grace. That is its purpose.

Derek begins this week's message by looking at faith and its place in receiving the gospel, making clear just what the gospel is. He then goes into the relationship between faith and works, revealing the danger of legalism but also the misunderstanding of what grace is. We have been made new creations through faith in order to do the good works God has prepared for us.

Derek finishes this week's study by transitioning from the way of repentance to the walk of faith. He begins with a look at the nature of faith—what it is and where it originates. Faith speaks from our heart and our high priest, Jesus, adds power to it. Faith comes before seeing, but speaks out by confessing hope with determination.

Derek continues his message on a serious note: the fact that God hasn't changed, and neither has the gospel message. Throughout the book of Acts repentance was stressed first; then came believing in Christ, and then baptism. When God initiates repentance in our lives, He is looking for a response from us.

In today's session Derek stresses the importance that repentance has to be made before one can fully enter into faith in Christ and be saved. There can be no forgiveness without repentance. This was the message that began in Jerusalem and continues to all nations today.

Today we look at just what repentance means and what it looks like. Derek explains the Greek and Hebrew meanings, drawing them together into a picture that can be seen in the parable of the prodigal son. When this prodigal son, in his misery and broken state, came to himself, he was able to repent and return to his father's house in humility.

Derek begins a look at the six foundational doctrines that will take you from the starting point of the Christian faith to its ultimate fulfillment in eternity. We begin this study with repentance from dead works, which Derek notes is a decision we make, not an emotion we feel. Dead works are anything we do that is not done in faith to God.

Derek finishes the teaching from this week by going through the effects God's Word can have on your life. God's Word produces faith, it is the seed of the new birth, and it is spiritual nourishment. It produces illumination, provides physical healing, and makes possible victory over sin and Satan. It also provides cleansing and holiness, and is a spiritual mirror.

Today Derek continues teaching how God has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness through the promises He has made in His Word. He then begins a look at the effects God's Word can have in your life–what it will do for you as you feed on it.

Derek explains that the authority behind the Scripture is the Holy Spirit, who causes those truths to work in our lives bringing discernment, life, and power. The Word has the ability to separate the soulish from the spiritual, revealing the thoughts and intents of the heart of man.

Derek looks at how Jesus dealt with Satan when he questioned what God had said. It is the same ploy used on Eve and others throughout history. Jesus quoted directly from the Word of God; and He is our example for how we should deal with spiritual warfare in our lives.

In this week's teaching, Derek addresses the authority of the Word of God and the power behind and in it. Today he explains how the Bible was written by various fallible men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to put down in words what He directed them to write.

Derek finishes this week's teaching by summarizing what really makes a disciple. Jesus told His disciples that if they loved Him they would keep His words and that He and His Father would come to indwell them. Love is the motivation for obedience to Jesus, His Word, and the Father. Your obedience in love is what draws them.

Derek continues providing three more issues that must be dealt with: preconceptions, unbelief, and rebellion. He then asks, “What is your attitude to the Bible?” Do you realize that Jesus and the Bible are both referred to as “the Word”? Your attitude toward one is your attitude toward the other.

In today's program, Derek shares two ways in which we can wisely begin to build on our foundation. But first, there are issues in our lives to be dug out of the way—such as traditions and prejudices. No matter what culture you grow up in, there are things that need to be eliminated.

Derek uses a dialogue between Jesus and Peter to give four phases we must all experience when we encounter Jesus: confrontation, revelation, acknowledgement, and public confession. Each of us at some point will come to a critical moment when we openly acknowledge or deny our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

In this first of a series of teachings on Laying the Foundation, Derek uses the picture of constructing a building to show how important laying a solid foundation is to building the Christian life. There is only one foundation for this structure, and we must be sure our lives are built on Jesus Himself.

Derek finishes this week's study by presenting four main priorities for the person who has been born of God. The first key is to appropriate spiritual nourishment, by absorbing that which is contained in God's Word. The second key is to keep in touch with the life source, which is prayer. The third is to confess our faith openly. And the fourth key is to find fellowship with other believers. Appropriating these four keys will help you to grow in God.
