Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are ill-treated as if you yourselves were suffering. Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.' So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?' Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so. (Hebrews 13.1-9, NIV.)

I pray for all of those that are suffering in their bodies, that your healing virtue will be released to heal them in Jesus' name. No matter the diagnosis, no matter the sickness you're able to heal, do it now, god.   We receive your healing. We breathe in your healing. We declare that we are healed of the Lord and our healing is for your glory. So God, everyone that's suffering from COVID, everyone that's suffering from cancer, lung disease, heart disease, if it has a name, glory, and it has to bow to the name of Jesus. And we pray for complete healing. Oh, glory. We give you honor and we give you praise and we worship your name, oh God, for you have given us authority and power over all of the negative influences of the devil, in Jesus name.   And we celebrate our freedom this morning. For your word says, "and whom the son sets free is free indeed," in Jesus' name. So we denounce every hint thing of dishonesty. We denounce everything that's not of you. Glory be to God. Every demonic influence, every habit, in the name of Jesus. And we decree and declare that the yolks of the enemy have been broken on our lives, in Jesus' name.   Because of your anointing. Yolks are destroyed and broken. Addictions are destroyed and broken in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And every thought that has held us captive is being broken now in Jesus' name. And the prison doors of our minds are being opened now, in Jesus' name. And by the authority of Jesus Christ, glory, we are experiencing freedom in our minds and our hearts and our souls now, in Jesus' name. We give you glory. We give you glory for it. We give you praise, glory, for you said the Lord is a spirit, and wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We experience your freedom. We exalt your name today.   Thank you, for the power and the authority that we have in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And we speak to every area of our lives. Glory be to God. Thank you. That it will not align with your word. And we commend it for coming in alignment with the word of God. Come in alignment and peace with the word of God, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And your word says, and we shall know the truth.   Oh, glory. And the truth shall make us pray. On Sunday we began our annual vision series. Every year in the fall we take time to revisit and highlight our core values as a church to recenter and direct the year ahead.  We began in Luke 9 - where we see that the main thing that keeps Jesus followers from walking in the authority and the power they've been given is distraction that leads to wrong belief.  If we are constantly focused on what other people think, comparing ourselves to them, or defining success for ourselves, we will be ineffective in the very places we should be powerful. We are to depend on God for daily strength and live in obedience to His word.  Distraction will eventually lead you into believing lies about God and about yourself, this is how the enemy renders you ineffective. We believe that as a church we are being called to higher things, to have authority in our identity and power in our lives. This comes when we apply the blood to all of our fears, our thinking, and our desires. 

They were all amazed and said to one another, “What is there about his word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” And news of him spread everywhere in the surrounding region. Luke 4:36–37Jesus had just encountered the wrath of many in His hometown of Nazareth, so He left there and traveled about 30 miles to Capernaum, a town just north of the Sea of Galilee. This was to become His new home during His public ministry. The reaction He received in Capernaum was much different than that which He received in Nazareth. As He taught in the Synagogue in Capernaum, a man with a demon came to Him, Jesus rebuked the demon and cast it out, and the people were amazed. Word spread about Jesus quickly. After this, Jesus performed many other miracles, and the people continued to be in awe of Him.What was it that impressed the people of Capernaum? In part it was the “authority and power” with which Jesus spoke and acted. But it was not only this, since Jesus had done so also in Nazareth where the people failed to believe in Him. In Capernaum it wasn't that Jesus was different, it seems that the people were different. Jesus won over many hearts in Capernaum because the people were open to the gift of faith. In fact, when Jesus was preparing to leave from Capernaum, the people begged Him to stay. Though eventually Jesus would also encounter resistance from the people there, their initial reaction was one of faith.Do you want Jesus to act powerfully in your life? Do you want Him to act upon you with authority and power? Many people, from time to time, can feel as though their lives are somewhat out of control. They experience weakness, confusion, a lack of direction and the like. For that reason, true spiritual “authority and power” is very welcome. What sort of authority and power do you need Jesus to exert over your life today?Think of a small child who is frightened. When this happens, the child turns to a loving parent for comfort and security. The embrace of a parent immediately helps to dispel the fear and worry of the child. So it is with us. We must see Jesus as the source of calm in our lives. He is the only one Who is capable of ordering our lives, freeing us from the attacks of the evil one, bringing peace and calm to our disordered emotions and clarity to our questions and doubts. But this will only be possible if we are open. His power never changes, but it can only enter our lives when we change and when we recognize our weakness and our need for Him to take control.Reflect, today, upon the infinite spiritual authority and power of our Lord. It is a power beyond anything else we could imagine. He wants to exercise this authority in your life out of love. What is hindering Him from taking greater control of your life? What sin or temptation does Jesus want to rebuke in your life? From what oppression does He want to set you free? Reflect upon yourself being a member of the town of Capernaum who fully welcomes Jesus, is amazed at Him and desires Him in your life. His working in your life depends upon you and your response to Him. Call on Him and let Him in. My most powerful Lord, You and You alone are able to take authority over my life and bring order and peace. Please remove any doubt and stubbornness from my heart so that I can open myself to You and Your grace. Take authority of my life, dear Lord, and lead me into Your most holy will. In today’s social media obsessed world, “viral” videos attract millions of viewers in a short time. If smart phones were available during Jesus’ time, videos of His miracles would have certainly gone viral. After the temptation in the wilderness (Luke 4:1–13), Jesus began his public ministry in Galilee. He traveled to Capernaum, which became a ministry base. The city, on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee, was a major Jewish trade center of fishing, as well as agriculture. One Sabbath day, Jesus went to the synagogue and taught the people with authority until a demon- possessed man disrupted the gathering. Luke mentions demons over 20 times as a major opponent to Jesus’ ministry. In this instance, Jesus’ presence made the demons nervous. Screaming loudly, they challenged Him, while also confessing His identity—at least in part. They called Him “the Holy One of God” (v. 34). Jesus rebuked the demons, and immediately they left the man. The next healing was less dramatic, but more personal. At Simon Peter’s home, his mother-in- law was sick with fever. There Jesus showed His authority not only over demons but also over disease. He rebuked the fever, and it left the woman immediately. She rose and served them, showing her restoration and gratitude (v. 39). Luke tells us that Jesus healed even more sickness and cast out more demons. The authority of Jesus was unparalleled and could not be stopped. At daybreak, Jesus withdrew to pray privately, but still the people followed Him. His miraculous works were drawing increasing attention. When they begged Him to stay in Capernaum, He restated His mission, “to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God” to the people of other towns. >> Reading about the miracles performed by Jesus is a much-needed reminder that no problem you face is too big for Him.
