Current Colorado Rockies Bat Boy Tino Vigil was kind enough to sit down with us and answer some questions about what it's like to be a bat boy, and what kinds of things he see/learns from being around the team!
In this podcast, we talked to Chris Burks who is an Outfielder in the San Francisco Giants organization. He is currently in Extended Spring Training. We discussed his journey through baseball and how his father Ellis Burks, had a tremendous influence on Chris through his professional career. We also talk about the JUCO World Series that is in Grand Junction and what it means to the city, players, coaches and fans every spring. Joe gives us his perspective on how kids from the Western Slope of Colorado play the game of baseball.
We talk with pitching coach Nick Childs from Regis University about his playing days, his early coaching career at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, which then led him to Regis University as the current pitching coach/recruiting coordinator. Coach Childs breaks down the importance of pitchers being connected with their delivery, or in sync with their movements on the mound, and we also discuss the importance of how pitchers can develop their pitches from the same arm slot, and how that is destructive to any offense.
We discuss the path that coach Robby Bales from Colorado School of Mines has had as a player and a assistant coach. We break down some of the sacrifices coaches have made to coach, and we specifically talk about Coach Bales and Kyle Freeland at Thomas Jefferson High School. We touch on offensive philosophy that has put Colorado School of Mines on the top of every offensive category in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
On the Gameday Podcast we discuss the history of Coach Ray Garza who is currently the head baseball coach at Brighton High School, and is also the new head softball coach at Riverdale Ridge High School.
