Kid and El Pres are back in the studio, and Kid isn't exactly arriving with a clear head. A relationship he thought had long-term potential has suddenly gone quiet, leaving him trying to reconcile the comfort of believing he'd found somebody to grow old with against the reality of barely communicating at all. Beneath all the usual Goin' Deep stupidity is something considerably more sincere: the realization that the podcast has always been a place where jokes cover heavier things that don't necessarily get discussed anywhere else. Kid returns from a vintage baseball weekend where the Independents got their asses kicked, the roster looked increasingly aware of its collective age and the team captain missed the festivities after getting sick. The baseball may have been rough, but the friends weekend and general distraction were exactly what Kid needed. That leads into the other major distraction of the week: Foo Fighters in Detroit. Kid and El Pres put the show among the best concerts they've attended, with Kid comparing it against an Eagles show that still holds the championship belt in his personal concert rankings. Queen of the Stone Age gets plenty of love too, along with a tease about an old Josh Homme story involving somebody connected to the show. Then artificial intelligence takes over the studio. Kid starts demonstrating how easily old photographs can now be animated, altered and completely reinvented. An innocent old Goin' Deep studio photo slowly mutates until the original Red Eye looks like he's spent the last decade secretly training for an action movie. That sends the guys into the larger question of whether AI has made fantasy so instantly available that younger people simply aren't impressed by the things that once felt forbidden or exciting. That becomes part of a bigger generational argument. Are younger audiences really less interested in sex scenes? Did growing up with unlimited access to everything fundamentally change what feels provocative? And what happened to the traditional rock star, who once existed in a world without somebody filming every stupid decision from six feet away? El Pres is meanwhile approaching retirement and beginning to imagine life without worrying quite so much about what everybody thinks. Travel enters the picture, including Paris, London, Liverpool, Abbey Road and Ireland, while Kid argues that making those memories with his son could be worth more than anything sitting around the house. There are detours through Buc-ee's chaos, social-media personalities who may or may not resemble AI, old morality films that aged spectacularly badly, Detroit Tigers anxiety, the Dodgers tempting fate, and the strange experience of podcast listeners recognizing Kid away from the microphone and knowing considerably more about his life than expected. And finally, civilization arrives at the question philosophers were apparently too frightened to ask: Why do bangs look like a warning sign? Grok is summoned. Grok is instructed to become less polite. Grok eventually concludes that bangs represent a daily declaration of war against the forehead. That seems scientific enough for this show. Listen in Go Deep

Yes, the Sweat Swing begins this week at TPC Initech, but the FedEx St. Jude does NOT receive Andy's Event of the Week honors! He bestows the title upon this week's U.S. Amateur at Merion, breaking down the early action with Brendan to kick off this Wednesday episode. Brendan is excited to hopefully take in some of the tournament in-person this week but wonders how, in the age of streaming everything, there's been no broadcast coverage of the stroke play rounds so far. The two run through some big names that won't be making it to match play and set up what should be a great weekend of golf at one of America's most iconic championship venues. There is a beefy (or sweaty?) preview of the FedEx St. Jude, complete with an updated weather forecast for Memphis, Tennessee! Andy's 5 Guys to Monitor This Week highlights a surprise appearance from one of the Tour's biggest stars, two Bubble Boys looking to make the Top 50, and one of the best dressed players in the field. The Schedule for the Week continues with the return of the DP World Tour and Michael Block's return stateside for this weekend's Boeing Classic on the Champions Tour. In perhaps the biggest news of the week, Brendan is tasked with explaining himself after getting ratioed on Twitter for just stating that Michael Kim has more followers than Rory McIlroy, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and even the New York Yankees(!) on the platform. We will return Friday with some more Bubble Boy discourse and whatever else presents itself in the next 48 hours of golf. We’re returning to SPACE for a Presidents Cup week Live Show Presented by B.Draddy! Join us in Chicago on September 21 - doors will open at 5 pm and show begins at 7 pm. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Tuesday. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler open Tuesday's show on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed with a quick recap of Essler's round at TPC Sawgrass, where he parred the famous island green 17th hole, before turning to a Monday betting recap in which the Brewers moneyline fell short again but an over in the Astros game cashed thanks to a three run 10th inning. From there the hosts work through a full Tuesday MLB card. At 3:26 they break down Paul Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates visiting Eury Perez and the Miami Marlins, questioning whether Skenes at minus 112 is a gift or a trap given his rough road numbers, and landing on Miami in the first five innings with the under. At 7:14 the focus shifts to Tanner Bibee and the Cleveland Guardians against Drew Anderson and the Detroit Tigers, with rain in the forecast and both hosts wary of laying a price behind Anderson in what could turn into a bullpen day for Detroit. At 11:25 the hosts return to a familiar theme, fading Bryan Woo's brutal road splits as the Seattle Mariners visit Ryan Weathers and the New York Yankees, backing New York in the first five innings. At 14:53 they weigh Dylan Cease's heavy recent workload, including a one hit shutout of Boston, as the Red Sox visit Toronto, with Essler leaning the over and Manji preferring Toronto in the first five given his lack of trust in the Blue Jays offense. At 19:05 the Mets visit the Braves, with Nolan McLean and Martin Perez both trending toward an over, backed by New York's recent history of hammering Perez. At 22:49 the card closes with the Brewers visiting the Padres, where sharp money has pushed the line toward San Diego despite the majority of tickets sitting on Kyle Harrison, leading both hosts to the Padres and the under. The hosts also run through a batch of additional games, including a look at Hunter Brown starting in San Francisco and a Los Angeles Dodgers team total play against Kansas City's Michael Wacha, tying into the ripple effects of the Tarik Skubal trade. At 29:30 the show shifts into its recurring NFL win total series with a full breakdown of the San Francisco 49ers, who sit near nine and a half wins for the coming season. Manji lays out the offseason additions of Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, the return of Deebo Samuel, and last year's plus 66 point differential in a loaded NFC West, while Essler zeroes in on a difficult closing schedule that includes the league's first regular season game in Australia against a Los Angeles Rams team now featuring Myles Garrett after his blockbuster trade away from Cleveland. The two hosts land on opposite sides of the total, with Essler leaning under and Manji taking the over and projecting a ten win season if the roster stays healthy. The episode wraps with best bets from both hosts, Essler backing the Yankees moneyline against Seattle and Manji riding the Dodgers team total over against Kansas City, plus a lighthearted exchange about fantasy football plans for the year. Cash That Ticket airs daily on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed, delivering sharp, matchup by matchup betting analysis across baseball, football, and beyond for listeners chasing an edge on every card. New episodes continue tomorrow with a breakdown of the Kansas City Chiefs win total heading into the AFC West race. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
