Welcome back to lean in with Lexi! I am super excited about today's episode and hope you find it helpful. Today's episode is all about the “diet” mentality, and this is really targeted more towards females. As a personal trainer and nutritionist I have had hundreds of women come to me with this number of the “perfect calorie intake”, and they think this will be the recipe that will give them the body of their dreams but in reality, it is a recipe for disaster. This episode came about because I made an Instagram reel about why 1200 calories is actually not a good number to attempt to lose weight or be healthy, and I got A LOT of feedback. So I feel obligated as a nutritionist and certified personal trainer to share this information with you. Moments you won't want to miss: (2:00) Why 1200 is NOT a magic number for weight loss or being healthy at all. (6:32) The result of not eating enough nutrients, or calories

Welcome to Lean IN with Lexi my friend! Today I want to talk about how you become a minimalist, and how we became minimalists as a family. Everybody's journey to minimalism is different so take this with a grain of salt and take the things that will work for you. Everybody has a different sense of what is important to them because everyone is living different lives. This is our story and how we adapted to living in a 40 foot RV, with four people and a dog. Minimalism is downsizing to living with only the things you absolutely need, living in a tiny house, in a small apartment, or RV. It is living with less stuff so you can live more with your heart, your compassion, your joys. This lifestyle is very hard to get into because you have to let go of things that you may have attached meaning to that really don't have meaning. I hope this episode leaves you with some nuggets to take into your daily life. Moments you won't want to miss: (1:00) What is minimalism? (5:30) Tip 1: to becoming a minimalist: Create your clean slate (6:24) Tip 2: Use it or lose it (11:00) How to minimize space

This week I wanted to talk about something that I am personally dealing with right now, if you follow me on social media you have seen our updates and I encourage you to check out my Instagram if that is something you enjoy. We have not been traveling much this month, we have been staying in my hometown at my parent's house right now. This is wonderful, and we are so grateful for the opportunity. BUT we have the itch, the itch to move and travel like we normally do. My husband had a lot of work come in that he needed to be on-site for, and we also are taking this time to do renovations on the RV. So it is a blessing, but you also get a bit of a fog or depression that comes over you when you are in the same place for a long time and that is not your normal routine. So, today I want to give you some ways to work through your post-travel blues or post-travel depression. As well as why these phases are important to process to keep growing and thriving. Hi Friends! Welcome back to Lean IN with Lexi! Today I am bringing up something that has been weighing on my heart for a while now. I really felt the pull to share this information in case there are women or girls who are unknowingly suffering from the side effects of breast implants. I will never forget how this came to be. I literally had to talk it over with my Grandmother, who knew I would come to regret it and I am just now realizing her words of wisdom through all of this experience. I believe that sometimes you have to go through the mistakes to come out on the other end, and learn what you need to learn. When I got my breast implants I never spoke about them to anyone, I even sometimes would say they were not implants. I think I would do this because deep down I knew they were not quite a good idea for me that they were not what I thought they would be. I later learned about breast plant illness, and I was experiencing pretty much every single symptom that was listed. I was completely shocked and I want to share this with you so that you know what you may or may not be getting yourself into my friend. (1:10) The thing that has been weighing on me about breast implants. (4:50) The underlying signs of breast plant illness that I was experiencing. Welcome back, friends! Today I want to talk about getting in tune with your feelings. I feel that society isn't big on encouraging people to explore or express their emotions. This is especially true with social media, all everyone ever shows is their highlight reel of life and typically that is hardly any bit of that person's actual life. Our real lives are filled with the ebb and flow of emotions, and when we do not express them, or get in touch with them they fester in our bodies leading to physical harm in some cases. Take this as your sign to stop and ask yourself if you are truly taking the time to get in touch with your emotions. You deserve it, and in this episode, I share how I know when my emotions are being bottled up. I also share how you can begin to understand your emotions and wherein the body may trigger tightness or pains. Emotions are messengers for what we want, and what we need to address in our lives. I hope this episode helps you, and if you have any major takeaways share them with me on Instagram! @alexis Powerful moments you won't want to miss! Welcome back to Lean IN with Lexi! I am so grateful you are here with me because this is just one step in living life at a level 10. Today's episode is pretty special, I decided I wanted to take you back down my journey too about two years ago. This was a pivotal time in my life that had many challenges to prepare me for the life I get to live right now. At the time I was doing full-time personal training in person and doing nutritionist work. I am still a certified trainer and nutritionist, and I still love training people. However, at this time two years ago I was very much burning the wick at both ends, I was in the gym multiple days a week at 5 AM and training myself then training my clients. Eventually, there came a point where I was not honoring myself or my clients in the best way, and the universe changed my life by giving me, two beautiful babies. This pivot was just the beginning of my new life. I hope this story inspires you and reminds you that when things get rough when you are feeling overworked and ready to give up. That is a sign that maybe you should because you could be doing something more purposeful, more impactful by being in alignment with what you are meant to do. Instead of focusing on how much money you have, or material things like that. 1:00 - Taking it back to two years ago. What was happening, why I was burnt out, and what changed. 5:30 - The deep shifts that happened in my pregnancy, my career, and why they are important to reflect upon. 7:03 - My message from the universe send all the way to the cape while working nomadically. I want to start today's episode by thinking about what you are grateful for because gratitude is the healthiest of all emotions and the more you express gratitude for what you have the more likely you will have even more to be grateful for. Then we will dive deep into the importance of balancing the feminine and masculine energies within us. Every single person has both the feminine and masculine in them, this is the yin and yang that ebbs and flows. The unbalanced masculine can feel like being unloved, or unappreciated and the unbalanced feminine can be submissive. None of these energies serve our highest good, so we have to do the work to become balanced within ourselves to be able to live a life that fulfills us. In this episode I share with you my understanding of the feminine and masculine, how they show up unbalanced, and a variety of practice you can use to return your energy to balance. And what is crazy is I personally know people who are still in the same phase of their life that they were in 10 years ago. If possible they may have even regressed even and it has made me realize I am an outlier. One day I realized that all along I was protecting myself, I was protecting my energy. I chose to make sure that my decisions led me to where I am not and you know what? That is available to you too! My goal with these episodes is to always leave you with a little golden nugget of knowledge each week. So, this week we are talking about moderation, which is something we think is okay all the time. BUT what is moderation? According to the dictionary, it is the avoidance of excess or extremes, especially in one's behavior. However, what does that mean and who decides how much, and what is actual moderation, AND is it actually good for us? Honestly, I would say no. Moderation is not how we succeed, it is not how we thrive and live a life at a level 10. You wouldn't do something harsh every day that was seriously detrimental to your life, or future just because you were doing it in moderation, would you? Yes, you do. I won't lie I am honestly a little nervous but I am also soo excited to let you in on my life and the things that I have done to create a better life for me and my family. This year my family took a big leap and decided to leave our 9-5s. We sold our home with all of our belongings and bought a 40-foot trailer so we can travel the United States making lifelong memories. We knew what was best for us was to go on an adventure because we were tired of the need for more literally taking time away from us. We decided on a life of fewer material things, more time freedom, and less stress of keeping up with the Joneses. Through this transition this podcast was born, I decided I wanted to help you lean into your desires, to inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Life is not always going to be easy, but with the right mindset and tools to embrace change, you can build habits that support your dreams.
