INTJ vs INTP. Two mostly rational siblings answer your questions, make terrible jokes, and generally try to resist killing each other. Frequently featuring guest hosts of varying personality types, things can get...interesting.
Oh, heeeyyy there, hehe. To all those who submitted their Star Wars questions in 2023, fear not! We are answering them now! In...2024. Better late than never???
To quote this episode, "Cartoons are because they good!" Join us in this cartoon-themed episode as we answer your questions about all things animated! One thing we determined in this episode is that we would NOT like to live in the One Punch Man universe. Let us know if you have a cartoon universe you think is worse! Welcome to our 5th annual Star Wars Day episode of Mostly Rational! Today, we have special guest, Shayan Diamond, on to help us answer the MYRIAD Star Wars questions our listeners sent in this year. We also have a very knowledgeable--yet silent--peanut gallery helping us out along the way. Please enjoy, and May the Fourth Be With You! P.S. This was a really tricky episode to edit, so there are a few sound issues. I tried, Aston! I tried! And don't you quote Yoda at me!! P.P.S. To say it's been a rough week or so for my family would be...an understatement. So please just appreciate that it's going up on the correct day (instead of in July like last year)!
Hello! In this episode, we answer several non-question questions such as: "Can't pick a hobby, wanna do everything. Don't have time to do everything" and "I have high hopes for my morning routine but sleep in every time." as well as actual question questions, such as: "How on earth do you improve your handwriting?" and "I can't draw at all, and don't know where to start. What tips/tricks/tools do I need?" Thanks for listening in, and feel free to send all you questions (and statements) to mostlrationalpod@gmail.com. Support us on Patreon for perks, including blooper reels! P.S. Tune in again on May the 4th for our annual Star Wars Day episode!
We're back (again) with a potpourri of problems to solve! In this episode, we explore issues with being a magnet for codependent friendships, feeling like everything we do to help is wrong, and fearing rejection. You know, light-hearted comedy fare! So, join us as we explore these issues (and make fun of each other for failing to not sound corny), and send in your own queries to mostlyrationalpod@gmail.com, or by visiting http://mostlyrationalpodcast.com Support us on Patreon at http://Patreon.com/mostlyrational
Ah, yes, our ever-timely, annual Star Wars episode, just in time for that most hallowed of Star Wars days, Jedi Knighteenth, which is definitely a real Star Wars holiday and not just something I made up because I'm uploading the episode 2-and-a-half months late. *Jedi hand wave* In this episode, we discuss which Star Wars planet makes for the best vacation spot, which of us shall win the hand of the Galaxy's Most Eligible Bachelor, actual questions about Star Wars lore (snooze), and a few non-Star Wars questions, such as: "Who would win? Like a gazillion lions, or all the pokemon?" and "When will Asia return Tani's bears?" (spoiler: never), and "What would have happened if Hank Green bought Yahoo Answers?" As always, support us on Patreon at patreon.com/mostlyrational, and send your questions to mostlyrationalpod@gmail.com. Jedi Knighteenth be with you.
On the "Rode" again! (Not a sponsor) (Yet.) Ok, 2020 is over, so...let's try this again! Thanks to everyone who sent in questions so very long ago. Please don't stop! We finally have nice mics! We can DO this!! Listen to hear many (skippable) spoilers, thoughts on sneezing, songs that are like poetry, and poems that are even more so. Plus other stuff I forgot already! I'm sure it's great! Ok, bye, gotta get to work on the next episode before I forget we have a podcast again! --Asia
We're back, this time to answer some of your questions about dreaming. Dreaming is...really weird, right? In this episode, we attempt to answer questions such as: Can deaf people hear sounds in their dreams? What is it like to have a lucid dream? Do Tani and Asia possibly have sleep disorders??? (No, seriously, opinions welcome on this one) So follow us on down this rabbit hole, and remember to send your questions to mostlyrationalpod@gmail.com, or through http://mostlyrationalpodcast.com!
A couple days ago, in this exact galaxy, we made another special Star Wars Day episode for some reason. Join us, along with special guest Brandon McKinney, as we answer questions such as: - What is the name of Yoda's race? - Should Ray count as a Skywalker? - Why ya hidin' baby Yoda? And several others! Yay
Sorry, I fell asleep for a couple months. Did I miss anything?? Oh. Oh wow. Ok, yeah, so people had questions about coronavirus, and we did our best to answer them! Listen to find out the answers to questions such as: Is it airborne? How are people coping? What about the economic impact? Can I get discounts on Corona now? And more! A thousand apologies, dear listeners. It has been hundreds of years since our last update. This episode was, in fact recorded many moons ago, but I, Asia, am an...how do you say...anxiety-ridden procrastinator. My thousand and first apology is in regards to the sound quality of this episode. It seems to get better in the second half, but I don't know what to do about the first half. I'm not a soundologist, ok?! Maybe someday we will be rich and able to afford a soundgineer, but today is not that day! In this episode: -what's the creepiest thing you ever done or had done to you?- who would you date from the star wars universe?- do we unintentionally speak in time signatures? - how tall is that lumberjack? -if you could bring one person and one tool to a desert island, who and what would you bring? Also: email hackerstoe complimentscalifornia hellscapeprank callsasia explains what math is We hope you chuckle once or twice and bear with us while we get our act together!
Hi! We're back, and we're makin' some changes 'round these here parts! A note about this episode: There were some audio issues on Tani's end that made it prohibitively difficult to splice our audio together, so what you're hearing is Tani's recording of my Asia's coming through her Tani's. It's not THAT bad, but you will hear Asia occasionally glitch out like some kind of Glados-Vanellope hybrid. And don't forget to send in your questions, creations, and opinions on our proposed changes!!
EPISODE XV Can it really have already been a year since our last Star Wars episode? Wow! Okay! Wow! Thank you to everyone who sent in questions for this very last minute episode. We literally recorded yesterday and are publishing today! I think this is some kind of record (for us, at least!) Join us in this episode to hear our bad opinions about Star Trek Wars! Find out our favorite ships (and I mean ships both in the sense of romance AND vessels)! We also get to hear opinions from people waaay more knowledgeable about Star Wars than us. Plus...Adventure Time? MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!
Um...hi. I have sooo many things for which to apologize, so let me make a list. I am sorry for: 1) How long it has been! Ugh! Life! I am taking measures to ensure this does not happen again. 2) The sound quality. We discuss this in the episode. While you should be able to hear us just fine, there is quite a bit of shuffling, especially in the beginning. Again, measures are being taken. 3) Actually, I guess those are the two main things. I guess I'm sorry for the times I sing in this episode. Thank you for listening anyway, and send in questions ASAP so we can get this show back on the road! Love, Asia
Start spreadin' the news... Welcome to this special East Coast Edition of Mostly Rational! It also happens to be our SHORTEST EPISODE EVER, because we were recording in an empty house with lots of echoes and no chairs, and I was grumpy. Plus, we had to start all over, because I forgot to hit record after we paused when our uncle walked in, so I was VERY grumpy. You can hear our false start in the blooper reel, available on to Patrons of $1 per or more per month over at Patreon.com/mostlyrational. In this episode, we answer questions about life in New York, the genetics of twins, medicine vs. witchcraft, tolls vs. taxes, and WHO ON EARTH IS THIS GUY?!?! Now get listenin', cuz I'm talkin' here, I'm talkin' here!
Hello! And welcome to our special 1-year anniversary episode. It is extremely late! There are a whole lot of reasons, and maybe we'll talk about them in a later episode, but for now, enjoy this one, wherein you will hear about supervillain powers, prose, the impact of media on rationals, obscure interests, why New Zealand owes us money, what we'd rather, what we've never, and Tani's Big Move. Big thanks to everyone who's stuck with us through this first year. We hope to keep going and working on making this show better and better for you all. As always, you can send us questions and feedback through our website, mostlyrationalpodcast.com, our email mostlyrationalpod@gmail.com, or our Twitter, @mostlyrational.
Whew, August was a rough month, y'all! Illness, new jobs, general misfortune...anyway, we finally got around to making episode 11! Wow! That's almost a year of episodes! This month, we were joined by Alex Clark, an Australian artist who was kind enough to help us choose the best and worst Australian animals, discuss accents, decode dancing, and learn how to be feisty! Also, our extremely controversial guest, Lee the Spud, DOES make a brief appearance. It's not our fault people asked her questions, okay!! UNFORTUNATELY, due to the farcical nature of Asia's life, we wound up recording the American half of this episode in an echoey kitchen, and quite a few yappy barks can be heard in the background of the middle part of the show. Between that and making sure the Australian half of the show synced up, this proved to be QUITE the editing challenge. We really did our best, so we hope you can bear with us! As always, thank you so much for listening, and please feel free to join in the fun by sending your questions and comments to mostlyrationalpod@gmail.com or through our website, www.mostlyrationalpodcast.com For bonus material, visit our Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mostlyrational Follow us on Twitter: @mostlyrational Instagram: @mostlyrationalpodcast
Yes, yes, we're late again. Apologies. I, Asia, got sick twice in July AND started a full-time job, so...even though we recorded this a few weeks ago...well, here we are! In this episode, we discuss the morality of cloning, the weird rooms in your house, the name of my new metal band, and how to speak alien, horse, and architect. We also may or may not have anywhere from 0 to 2 special guests in this episode. You'll just have to listen to find out! Reminder: patrons get to hear the blooper reels that go up shortly after each episode. For as little as $1 a month, you could hear my PITCH PERFECT Lisa Simpson impression, as well as all the stuff I deemed too weird for genpop. As always, thanks for listening, and don't forget to share! :)
Better late then never, I always say! Tani, however, never says that. We're back with episode 9, wherein you will hear us answer your questions about centaurs, ghosting tweens, intuitive sensors, why nerd are bad at sports, making friends when you don't particularly care to be around people, birth order, learning styles, first impressions, INTJ villains, and Scottish accents. Things actually get a tiny bit heavy when discussing the INTP relationship to friendship, but don't worry: we're not great at being serious for long. MOST IMPORTANTLY: This is the episode in which we FINALLY reveal the identitiy of the mysterious Somebody Else, so stay tuned for that at the end!
THE LONG WAIT IS OVER! Welcome to our much-(possibly over)-hyped special Star Wars-themed episode of Mostly Rational, in which we invite guests Geordi and Brandon to share with us their extensive Star Wars expertise while answering the questions you sent in. Let me tell you: We thought we were nerds, but Y'ALL are NERDS! That's why we love ya. Keep those nerdy questions comin'! Talking points in this episode: Most eligible droid? Weird Kermit. Palpatine's cosplay contacts. Count Dookie. Asia & Co. Is it ok to like the prequels? Ring theory. Tumblr teens. Darth Jar Jar. Uncle Luke. Vader's Myers-Briggs type. Angsty Episode III. Fair warning: This episode contains HEAVY nerd-talk/friendly debate/incorrigible interruptions AND spoilers re: the films, the EU novels, and Clone Wars. ENJOY!
In this episode, Tani and Asia discuss how MBTI relates to family dynamics and conflict resolution. They also laugh like big dorks at their own bad puns. Okay, that's mostly Asia. More like Mostly Rasianal!! Okay, that's definitely worse than any puns you will hear in this episode.
With very special guest, the infamous Askin' Aston. In this episode, we flash back to February of 1992, continue trying to solve the mystery of Somebody Else, debate creative thinking vs creative doing, discuss the value of emojis, talk music writing, and more! We also laugh a lot. Best of all, Aston came prepared with his own, totally fresh, definitely original and not at all a parody of anything custom intro for our podcast. Will we continue to use it? Thaaaaat probably depends on how that absolutely nobody I just mentioned reacts. We'll see! Or not! So, settle in for your long drive/pile of dishes to clean/giant pile of laundry to fold and join us as we do our very best to make whatever you're doing for the next little bit a tad more enjoyable! :)
INTJ Megan Uyeno (aka TheGrumpyBagel on Youtube) joins INTJ Tani and INTP Asia as they answer your questions (and go off on many, many tangents) about art, science, language, and Elvis. Asia is accidentally rude, Megan shows us her socks, Tani has pneumonia, and they all have a little bit o' rum (for bravery). It's good stuff.
This special - if belated - episode is here to answer your questions about oversharing on the internet, word origins, pitching shows to major networks, improving your art while maintaining your confidence, and an original song by our guest host, Josiah!
Sorry we're late! But hold on to your socks, because you'll never believe what we did: we recorded with the correct microphone setting! Woo! Prepare to be entertained withOUT the bleeding ears! Muah!
"The Clippy One" Hey! Welcome to this brand-spanking-new podcast, brought to you by two sisters who fall under that silly MBTI category "The Rationals" + the occasional guest! In this episode, we have with us our middle sister, the Ultimate ESFJ, Kiri. She is, like, a normal adult human being and all married and home-owning and stuff, so she won't always be here. BUT we have a whole lot of other guests lined up, and we can't wait to answer questions and discuss all kinds of topics! For example, this episode contains bits of science, bits of sociology, bits of nerdiness, and many other...bits. So get ready and settle in for the VERY SRS and the VERY FUNNY, because we're rational, but only mostly. "Guilty Pleasure" Hey! Welcome to this brand-spanking-new podcast, brought to you by two sisters who fall under that silly MBTI category "The Rationals" + the occasional guest! In this episode, Tani and Asia talk about their most embarrassing secrets, guilty pleasures, Doctor Who, the cause of lactose intolerance, and the Great Emo War. They finally settle the age-old question: Where in the world is Carmen San Diego??! So get ready and settle in for the VERY SRS and the VERY FUNNY, because we're rational, but only mostly.
